Never seen it, but I already know the big plot twist so I feel watching it would be pointless.

No, but men are inherently more competitive than women on the average.
There you go, "on the average". To me, words like "inherent" and "on the average" are incompatible. It's either inherent, or it isn't. So, either you mean that all men are inherently more competitive than women, or you don't--but you can't muddy that water.

Otherwise, it's no longer an inherent, see?

You need to provide an example. I've provided one, at least.
I don't know exactly what you want. Do you want evidence to suggest that you can influence gender? That should be easy enough.

would i need to play the first two to enjoy the third

i don't plan on ever getting this game, but, i don't know
shit's good to know

because it seems like this is another mass effect/assassin's creed situation, where no one gave a fuck about the series until the second/third sequel came out

I don't know, Groot was kind of grating on my nerves there.

look at the sales numbers of Fifa and then look at the sales numbers of madden and nhl
yeah but can we not base this list on sales performance, please

that's what wikipedia articles are for--we don't need a hall of fame for that

they actually have their criteria on the nomination page
updated the OP with them

I don't understand what FIFA did differently from NFL, NHL, NBA, etc. It's just another sports game. Angry Birds was a rip-off of an older Newgrounds game that got lucky.

Zelda is THE original adventure game, like Wolfenstein 3D is the original FPS.
Perhaps they didn't want to give Nintendo double representation (even though they probably deserve it).

Does it list the reason why LoZ didn't make the list? I'm curious of why not.
*shrug*

All we can infer is that it simply didn't get enough votes. It'll be up there eventually.

"Final selections will be made on the advice of journalists, scholars, and other individuals familiar with the history of video games and their role in society."

Not sure why this would really matter to anybody.

If you mean that society shouldn't look down, shun, fire, abandon, kill, maim, humiliate (etc.) people/kids who want to transition, then I agree.
That's obviously what I fucking mean. And no, clearly you don't agree, because I'm apparently DENSE for believing it. So, fuck you, you fucking flip-flopping cunt. Just because I say it in a more grandiose, anti-human way--"STOP CARING ABOUT GENDER"--doesn't mean my message isn't clear. I'm on your goddamn side, you stupid fuck.

You're one dense motherfucker. :)
Literally how.

"Let's continue pretending gender matters, because having people commit suicide over their dysphoria is so awesome!"
"Let's continue teaching kids to be uncomfortable about their gender identity!"

Is that what you're saying?

I'm not quite an expert, but wouldn't this be something along the lines of irony?
Not remotely.

I just know how people ought to think. We ought not to make gender into the issue that it is.
I don't see how anyone could possibly disagree with that.

Lol dude I think your lying to yourself if you think you would be okay with having a female body and your a guy now. Maybe for a day but you would probably kill yourself if you had to stay that way for a year or more.
Oh, really? Okay.

Gee, I'm so glad that there's people out there who know how I think better than I do.

you don't have to apologize

Anyway, depending on how often this thing is updated (I don't know if this is gonna be annual or what), I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on it, because these sorts of things fascinate me, no matter how frivolous or meaningless they are.

« on: June 05, 2015, 01:25:12 PM »
If there was an afterlife, that would change everything.
How so? Or, I mean, from your point of view, what exactly would be so monumental about it?
Well, it would shatter my most fundamental belief: Efilism--the idea that life is fundamentally broken, and that, as a result, we have an ethical obligation to stop perpetuating it (anti-natalism, anti-procreation, et cetera).

The existence of a heavenly afterlife would probably justify the imposition of life. Eternal bliss is pretty nice.

It's my belief that nonexistence is bliss, but whatever.

Except it's the shooter that made console online gaming huge.....
Guy, this isn't the end of the list. I imagine every year, they'll pile more games onto it, and we might see the entire Halo trilogy on there at some point. Don't you think the list is good for the first six? I mean, you can't leave out Mario, Pac-Man, Pong, and Tetris.

But no, I wouldn't call it a mental illness.  I feel that besides a mental issue, it's also a physical issue when it comes to transgenders feeling like they're an opposite sex.

Idk, I just get a bad taste in my mouth when people call this a "mental illness."
All it is is acknowledging that it's a problem. A mental illness is a problem.

And it can be solved by making efforts to make the transition. Or, my solution--come to terms with the fact that it's really not a big deal (especially if you live in a community that isn't at all transphobic). Because the transition is a very expensive, long, and faithful sort of journey, accepting the fact that you may never make the full transition--and that that's perfectly okay--might also be the best course of action.

But that would require people to transcend a bit of their humanity, and some people think that's a bad thing, somehow.
