everyone i play seems to know the precise moment to do each and every move
and i just kinda... do stuff? like, i don't mash, i know what each move is for, and i try to use them for their purpose
but i don't get how i can never seem to combo anything or anyone because my opponent either
1. counteracts and hits me back first before i can combo
2. they just air dodge
but if i try to do either of those things, i get fucked--especially if i dare try to air dodge

Either Roy sucks, or I suck, but Roy isn't even fun to play, I'm sad to report. He feels like Shulk--awkward, clunky, and he has the most godawful neutral-A I've ever seen. Not to mention, much of the properties of all his attacks have not carried over from Melee at all (namely his down-tilt not propelling his opponent upward anymore, which SUCKS). I could learn to adapt, but it's gonna be a slog.
I do appreciate that they made him a semi-clone, though, rather than an all-out clone.

I didn't see a thread about them, but I just splurged and bought all of the Smash DLC, and I have no one to talk about these characters with, so.
Ryu is godlike. SO fun to play. I expected him to be a little awkward because of how they designed him, but it's actually quite fluid, and as a Street Fighter player, I adore the fact that they retained many of his combos from that game.
Haven't tried Roy yet, but I'm super excited to (he was my main in Melee, after all).
Haven't tried Lucas yet, but I don't really care to. lol
