I don't know if this thread could handle any more retarded liberals, Mad Max already filled that job pretty well. Do we have any retarded independents to fill the quota?
you'd probably file me under "retarded independent"

the reason dark souls sucks has nothing to do with its difficulty or combat, though

more the fact that it allows (and encourages) you to attempt to screw over other players without their consent
and if you don't like it, you're supposed to just "play offline", and miss half of what makes the game so supposedly good
Or you git gud?
LOL NICE MEME xDDD

Or you can buy the game it was meant to be played before Ninty decided they were going to milk FE as hard as possible and get the special edition that includes all three routes.
prolly

i think it's only necessary to have an account if you want to organize your own bracket

but if you want to add people to the bracket, you have to do that yourself
because i don't see an option to sign up anywhere

but anyway, i PM'd you on there just in case

I don't see the issue, if there is one.
Nah. Just thought I'd break up the monotony of bad news with some good news.

i'm only being facetious with that title

Didn't see a topic on this, but it seems right up our alley.
Oops there's already a thread.
Quote
"We believe that our gameplay experiences should reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate and, at the same time, we will always design the game specifications of each title by considering a variety of factors, such as the game's scenario and the nature of the game play. In the end of course, the game should be fun to play. We feel that Fire Emblem Fates is indeed enjoyable to play and we hope fans like the game."

This is fine.

I wouldn't assume a game involving shooting giant aliens with plasma rifles would coincide too heavily with reality, let alone the precise moment when humans evolved. Unless the franchise has taken measures to be historically accurate in the past.

PvP and messages are like the only worthwhile things of online; if you don't like either of those things, then you may as well just play offline since you aren't missing anything.
I'd probably really enjoy PvP if it was, you know, consensual.

I'm curious though--you describe them as the only "worthwhile" things? What to you makes either of those things worthwhile? What about them isn't just deplorable?

That's very broad.

I would say Super Metroid, but given the general theme of the responses, I guess I'd say Wind Waker.
I think the general understanding is that Fantasy is swords and magic shit while Science Fiction is the guns and space junk.
Yeah, I figured.

never play any online games then
Like I said, I can't think of any other game where the stupidity is imposed on you. When I play Street Fighter, if I'm playing against idiots online, I can't really complain, because I let them in my lobby. Or I entered their lobby. You can't "invade" people in Street Fighter.

That's my problem--they're invasions. Why do they have to be invasions? Why can't they just make it so it says something like, "StupidDarkSoulsPlayer123 is challenging you to a battle. Do you accept? Y/N"

If it was like that, I would have no problem with Dark Souls. Because that way, I wouldn't have to play offline just to enjoy the damn game.

Fighting =/= being screwed over
Sure, you won't always get screwed over. That doesn't really change anything, though.

You're also forgetting the misleading hints that you can place down to trick players into doing something stupid.

I don't care how obvious the traps are--the fact that the game allows you to even do that is insane, in my opinion.

You're right, though--it doesn't make the game "bad", but it sure as hell doesn't help my enjoyment of it.
The fact that I can't trust my fellow player not to be a moron sounds like the opposite of fun to me.

Well then what else makes Dark Souls suck?
That.

Just because a game sucks, doesn't mean it's broken. That's a little extreme.

Just understand my terminology--if I say something "sucks", it just means I don't like it, that's all.

Gaming / Re: Favourite fantasy game?
« on: June 24, 2015, 03:47:19 PM »
That's hardly a game-breaking mechanic, since you don't have to restore your humanity.
I didn't say it was game-breaking--I just don't really consider that great design.

Well it's not like you're going to give somebody consent to screw you over.
Sure you are. That's the whole point of fighting games (for example--I'm not saying Dark Souls is a fighting game). When you set up a lobby in Street Fighter, you're asking for people to fight you. And if you get beat up, that's on you.

In this franchise, you get dragged into it unless you play offline. That's garbage.
