the only thing you should be allowed to do when you're drunk is be forcefully shoved into a tight room until sober

or get shot

yeah lol

Possibly the most hypocritical thing I've ever read. I love how they end it with "be responsible" with an idea that exists because women can't take responsibility for their actions.
both people ought to

how about that

the only problem with this whole thing is that drunken sex should not be classified as "rape"
that's just a little bit silly

but it's still a good policy, in my opinion, to dissuade people from ever doing this
it doesn't make you a rapist; it makes you a disgusting, irresponsible, opportunistic scumbag

Fallout 3 was bad, Skyrim still sets a terrible precedent for modern games, and Fallout 4 looks to be packed with an obscene amount of garbage. I'm getting pretty excited about these enlightened threads talking about how terrible Fallout 3 was supposed to be, how boring Skyrim is (hint: if you're bored in Skyrim, you're a rational person with good taste and you should be proud of that), and how absolutely godawful Fallout 4 will certainly be.

I'm going for 100% completion anyway, so I'll end up getting it all eventually. I do remember the Infector being the worst weapon ever, though.

Oh, I got your submission, by the way. I wasn't gonna feature it at first, because I felt like it was a little too quotidian, but then I figured, eh, why not.

Rock-Paper-Scissors

Perfectly balanced, free, no additional dlc, no required console, no patches needed, fantastic control scheme

Prove me wrong
there's no skill involved
just rudimentary mindgames

however, i came up with a variation back in elementary school that was actually kinda fun

basically, me and two other friends would be on r/p/s "teams"
team rock, team paper, team scissors

if you were on team rock, for example, that didn't mean you could only play rock--you could still play normally
but the only difference was that if you won a game by playing rock, you would get 2 points instead of 1

and losses would result in a single point loss, regardless of what you played
if you played your team's object and lost, however, you would lose two points

and we did something like, first to 10 points wins

the games never got anywhere (because we factored in point deficits, ie. you could have a negative number of points if you lost that often), but we made it so games were concurrent--we never forgot about our scores and we would just continue where we left off whenever we wanted to play again

we had it going for about two or three months before we got bored of it

my full reply had "I'm not familiar with ash as an adjective" but you deleted that. That part explained what you wrote, or rather it said "I understand this much" and then later you wrote "that much".

I said you will throw left, you did throw left. You deleted my comment saying tha tyou were gonna throw left
he does that

i like it, because there's no need to quote the entire message--that's just a waste of page space
and i'd assume that's why he does it

Coming back edition. Not gonna give up doing these just yet--I've been preoccupied with other things lately, but now I have a slew of these prepared. I'm still taking submissions, too, if anyone's interested. <_<

All right, let's begin:

Thanks to:
Pendulate (submission: anhedonia)

Tintinnabulation - /tin - tin - ab - yoo - LAY - shun/
[tintinnabulate] [tintinnabulates] [tintinnabulating] [tintinnabulated] [tintinnabulator]
From the Latin tinnire, meaning "to ring"; from the compound tintinnabulum, meaning "tinkling bell"

Have you ever fallen down on a hard surface, or have something strike you directly in the head at a high velocity? Did you hear a high-pitched ringing sound accompanying the sharp pain? What you heard could be described as tintinnabulation. It's a tiny, barely audible, yet distinct ringing sound--usually from somewhere unknown, but the word is associated most often with bells. I love the word, personally, because of how needlessly extended it is, especially when describing such subtle phenomena.

Acerbic - /uh - SER - bik/
From the Latin acerbus, meaning "sour-tasting"

You know that done-to-death character archetype that's been overflowing narratives as of late? The one who always sits back and makes cutting gibes at everything. "Bitter realist", "deadpan snarker", whatever you want to call him--his personality could be described as acerbic. Notice how it kinda sounds like "acidic". An acerbic personality is one that is very blunt and forthright. They typically have no tact or consideration for other people's feelings, and simply express their thoughts entirely unfiltered--usually in a very biting fashion. Entertaining to watch on screen, or read in text, but of course, one should try to avoid coming off acerbic in real life.

Tendentious - /ten - DEN - chihs/[/size]
[tendentiousness]
Etymology unknown; likely of German origin.

I do enjoy that some of the coolest words in the English language can be used to describe me. If someone is tendentious, they're something of a rabble-rouser. They have a tendency to a particular cause. They like to jump on whatever soapbox they can in order to promote unpopular points of view, rousing the public and introducing something of a debate amongst them. Evangelical Christians often espouse their tendentious philosophies in otherwise religiously apathetic public forums.

Typically, the word has a negative connotation--it's used especially to denounce such behavior, and while it's not necessarily an insult, it's often used with vitriolic intent. Use it wisely.

I actually had a great word in mind as I was tweaking things up, but I forgot what it was. Dammit. Maybe next time.
