The Flood / Re: how many times have you started making a thread
« on: April 09, 2018, 01:17:17 AM »
i used to be that way

now i just post WHATEVER i want because literally who cares

secondclass must not have that filter either

3512
everything i watched for the 1996 "list"

Spoiler
Rurouni Kenshin (Studio Gallop, 1996, thirty episodes) It lacks a lot of my least favorite tropes, despite being a shonen, so it's respectable in that regard. I enjoyed it enough to sit through a decent chunk of it, but I kinda just stopped caring after all. It's just too long, and the story is too messy and uneven for me to continue following. The inconsistent quality of the episodes caused me to find myself growing bored with it more often than not. That said, it's one of the better shonen I've ever tried out, but it's still nothing special. 5/10

Case Closed (TMS Entertainment, 1996, one episode) AKA Detective Conan. The most noteworthy thing about this show is that it's still ongoing. Think about that. This show has been airing for over twenty years. It has almost nine hundred episodes. Here's the thing—when I watch a show, I want every single episode to be fucking awesome. That's what I'm asking for. That's my standard. The odds of this show having 900 episodes of pure entertainment and nothing else are slim to fucking none, so I think I'm gonna have to sit this one out. Go ahead and take my rating with a grain of salt, because I'm basing it off the first episode alone, and I'm well aware that I've only tried a thousandth of what the show has to offer. I just can't handle these long-ass shows. 3/10

Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go (Production IG, 1996, one episode) Old, bad, dumb kid's show.3/10

Spooky Kitaro (Toei Animation, 1996, three episodes) This actually could've been a pretty fun show if they played up its strengths more—namely, the atmosphere and character designs. It's bogged down by typical stupid anime shit. There's a character with an eyeball for a head, though, so that's pretty cool. 4/10

Yuusha Shirei Dagwon (Sunrise, 1996, two episodes) Mecha trash. 2/10

Sonic the Hedgehog (Studio Pierrot, 1996, completed) The first attempt at a Sonic anime. It's not good. How did you expect it to turn out? 3/10

Fire Emblem (Studio Fantasia, 1996, completed) The first attempt at a Fire Emblem anime. It's fucking shit. I don't know what I was expecting. 1/10

Seikimatsu Darling (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) 2/10

My Dear Marie (Studio Pierrot, 1996, completed) Just watch Weird Science. 3/10

Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko (J.C. Staff, 1996, completed) 2/10

Ninja Cadet (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) This series was never finished, apparently, because the director (or someone) died before they could do so. 2/10

Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman (Production IG, 1996, completed) 1/10

Power Dolls (OLM, 1996, completed) An all-female cast of women who all have the exact same face and body type. Very progressive. 1/10

Marriage (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) 2/10

Armageddon (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) One of the stupidest things I've ever seen. 1/10

Chocchan Monogatari (Unknown, 1996, completed) I saw someone on MAL describe this one as Grave of the Fireflies-lite. I concur. 4/10

The Vision of Escaflowne (Sunrise, 1996, four episodes) 4/10

Kodocho (Studio Gallop, 1996, one episode) This is one of those "you gotta watch fifty episodes first before it gets good" and GUESS WHAT I'm not doing that. If having every single episode be worth watching is too much to ask of your shitty-ass show, then it really isn't worth it. Sorry not sorry. 4/10

Hell Teacher Nube (Toei Animation, 1996, three episodes) Never been one for body horror, even if this show is pretty light about it. It's not that I can't handle it—I just think it's a dumb gimmick that isn't worth wasting hours of my life on. 3/10

B'T X (TMS Entertainment, 1996, one episode) Just more mecha shit. 2/10

The Magnificent Zorro (Ashi Production, 1996, one episode) Always thought Zorro was kinda lame, so naturally, I'm not gonna find the anime adaptation of it any cooler. 2/10

Mizuiro Jidai (Nippon Animation, 1996, one episode) About as mind-numblingly basic as a show can get. 1/10

VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire (Production Reed, 1996, one episode) Classic offensive shlock. 1/10

Green Makibao (Studio Pierrot, 1996, one episode) 2/10

Shamanic Princess (Triangle Staff, 1996, two episodes) 1/10

Burn Up! W (AIC, 1996, three episodes) 1/10

Magic User's Club OVA (Production Reed, 1996, completed) Hell, I didn't even know "magical boy" was a thing in Japan. That's kind of refreshing, I guess. This OVA still sucks, though. 4/10

Battle Arena Toshinden (J.C.Staff, 1996, completed) Based on a mediocre fighting game series that went on to be the spiritual predecessor of the awesome Soul Calibur franchise. Go and play that instead. 2/10

Sanctuary (Pastel, 1996, completed) 3/10

Mutant Turtles: Superman Legend (Unknown studio, 1996, first episode) This is a thing that exists. Incredible. 1/10

Debutante Detective Corps (Gainax, 1996, completed) 1/10

Tattoon Master (AIC, 1996, one episode) 2/10

Landlock (Unknown studio, 1996, one episode) 2/10

Idol Fighter Su-Chi-Pai (Daume, 1996, completed) 1/10

Bounty Hunter: The Hard (J.C.Staff, 1996, completed) 1/10

Baby and Me (Studio Pierrot, 1996, two episodes) 4/10

Ganbarist! Shun (Sunrise, 1996, two episodes) 3/10

Birdy the Mighty (Madhouse, 1996, two episodes) 1/10

Garzey's Wing (J.C.Staff, 1996, completed) A lot of people seem to think this is a so-bad-it's-good show. I can't say that I agree. It's so-bad-it's-bad. 1/10

Chrono Trigger (Production IG, 1996, completed) Another "Just Play the Game" type of show. 3/10

Kimera (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) 2/10

Maze: The Mega-Burst Space OVA (J.C.Staff, 1996, completed) 1/10

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer (J.C.Staff, 1996, one episode) 1/10

Future GPX Cyber Formula Saga (Sunrise, 1996, one episode) 2/10

Twin Signal (Unknown studio, 1996, one episode) 3/10

Hurricane Polymar: Holy Blood (J.C.Staff, 1996, one episode) 1/10

Jigokudou Reikai Tsuushin (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) Really striking art style on this one, but that's about it. If not for the cool visuals, it probably wouldn't have stuck out in my mind as much. I also give it points for being able to communicate everything so well through its visuals—the only stream of it I was able to find lacked English subtitles, but it didn't really matter. 5/10

X - The Movie (Madhouse, 1996, completed) Whatever the fuck this even is, I feel like I've seen several better versions of the same general story. It's pretty well-crafted, though. 4/10

Hana Yori Dango (Toei Animation, 1996, three episodes) Basic shojo romance garbage. Painful, stupid, boring. 3/10

Martian Successor Nadesico (Xebec, 1996, completed) The last show that I completed from this year, and it's not bad. I'd put it up there with Rurouni Kenshin in terms of how much entertainment value I was able to get out of it. Which isn't a lot, but it's far and away better than most of the complete and utter shit I've been sifting through for 1996. It can be looked upon as a parody of the mecha genre, and it'll be a good time if you do that. If you find yourself getting too hung up with its unsubtle anime-isms, though, it probably won't be a very good time. It's a weird one. 5/10

Those Who Hunt Elves (Group TAC, 1996, one episode) 2/10

Remi, Nobody's Girl (Nippon Animation, 1996, three episodes) World Masterpiece Theater. Not as immediately engaging as Romeo and the Black Brothers. 5/10

Violinist of Hamelin (Studio Deen, 1996, two episodes) 3/10

Chouja Raideen (Sunrise, 1996, one episode) 2/10

YAT Anshin! Uchuu Ryokou (Group TAC, 1996, one episode) 1/10

Angel Densetsu (Toei Animation, 1996, one episode) 3/10

Apocalypse Zero (Ashi Production, 1996, completed) 1/10

Master of Mosquiton (Unknown studio, 1996, one episode) 3/10

The Adventures of Kotetsu (Unknown studio, 1996, one episode) 1/10

Panzer Dragoon (Production IG, 1996, one episode) Cool games make shit shows. What a working formula. 1/10

Spring & Chaos (Unknown studio, 1996, completed) 6/10

didn't feel like bumping the thread for any of this random garbage, i'd rather draw more attention to my thoughts on popular stuff and things that i've actually been recommended

i could go straight into 1997 from here, but maybe i could also go backwards and do 94 instead

and maybe i'll try to keep up with the current season too, because that's more relevant (and it'll give me an opportunity to praise devilman at the end of the year)

My example with Owen Benjamin goes against what you're saying, though. The context of him saying the word nigga was ignored by the people who protested him. They didn't care that he was making a joke pointing out the absurdity of racism from rich white yuppies, they didn't care that he was just referencing an old meme, they didn't care that he isn't racist at all, they simply hated the fact that he said nigga being a white man.
oh okay, i see now

yeah, i guess it was wrong for him to be imprisoned and beaten to death, then

oh wait, he's still alive? he's still doing okay? and still perfectly free to do whatever he wants?

well then, looks like we got ourselves a non-fucking-issue

As for the point about censorship, I was not making that point about individuals, I was speaking generally. It's good to know you wouldn't try to censor anyone although it's sad to me that you would be willing to de-platform people.
you've yet to explain how de-platforming is even bad to begin with

it's good

The Flood / Re: "Skeptics"

I will always be against the condemnation of words alone. Condemning the intent behind the words is another matter I believe is perfectly reasonable within a certain context, but words alone are not inherently harmful and being offending by a word seems to me to be either over-reaching outrage for the sake of using it against someone, or a sign of emotional fragility and weakness. Neither of which, I believe, is good for a person or society in general.
and everyone—EVERYONE on the left agrees with this

which contexts are reasonable is where you disagree

people who condemn vacuumized words are extremists who don't represent the whole of "the left," and they don't even represent a small fraction—even most of the ones who CLAIM to condemn that don't even really believe it
Quote
When it comes to censorship, I thought I already made it clear that what I had pointed out was de-platforming. The point I was making is that those who attempt to hecklers veto someone they disagree with are not the types of people that would stand against censorship, especially if it was happening to those they disagree with.
i would attempt to heckler's veto someone, regardless of whether i agree or disagree with them, and i stand against all censorship

oops looks like i proved you wrong

The Flood / Re: "Skeptics"
« on: April 08, 2018, 08:44:45 PM »
The first point isn't censorship it's de-platforming, but people who do that sort of thing aren't the type to stand against censorship.
tell me what you think censorship is

give me an example

having a platform is a privilege that can and should be taken away, just like anything else,

most people don't deserve a platform
Quote
You said that all of the left stands against political correctness, yet now you're saying political correctness is a good thing, so presumably, they wouldn't stand against it? That seems a bit contradictory.
i'm going along with the notion that you don't actually know what political correctness means, or what it's purpose is, so instead of cumbersomely explaining it to you, i'm playing along and using your terms as you use them

the truth is, political correctness is fine

YOU support political correctness, too, and you don't even know it

what you're actually opposed to is being polite at the cost of liberty; putting politeness on too high of a pedestal to where it begins to fuck with your precious freedoms

and the real issue is that social etiquette is highly subjective, and different types of people are going to have different standards for what is considered polite, impolite, acceptable, or taboo

the thing is, however, most of these taboos are VERY simple concessions—not saying "nigga" if you're a white person, saying "mentally disabled" instead of "retarded," referring to transpeople with their preferred pronouns, that sort of thing

for the MOST part, that's all being PC means, and if that bothers you, you're an unreasonable fucking loser

do some people take it too far? yes
are the left, by and large, opposed to taking it too far? yes

all political correctness is is an attempt to be courteous and respectful—that's it, it's very reasonable

but there are unreasonable people in EVERY ideology, so for you to shoehorn reasonable people with the crazies is kind of fucking bullshit—would you appreciate it if someone shoehorned you with nazis

you might think a white comedian should be able to say nigga, and you're right—i think he should be able to as well

but i also think the owner of the club has every right to boot that stupid cunt off the stage if he doesn't like him

Seriously, though, if anyone knows any left-wing peeps that aren't down with censorship/PC mess, let me know.
I cannot think of any who are, but you would probably like this guy.

Being politically correct is a good thing, first of all. What you're against is being "unreasonably polite."

Countless times over the past few years there have been mobs of protestors and even rioters attempting to deplatform speakers they disagree with. And nearly always they are left-leaning. I don't think I've ever seen a single right-wing group attempt a hecklers veto (I'd sure be happy for someone to show me). Exactly how are people like that standing against censorship?
That isn't censorship.
Quote
How is a mob of left-wing comedians getting Owen Benjamin's booked venues to back out of hosting his shows because he said nigga in one of his jokes a stand against political correctness?
Because it's a stand against being a fucking idiot who is out of line.
Quote
As someone who is more left leaning than right, who has always been a bit at odds with my mostly religious and conservative family, I've been seriously disappointed in what I've seen coming from the left these past few years.
Because you're stupid.

It's sad that there doesn't seem to be as many left leaning individuals standing against those sorts of things.
they all do

every single one of them

you just don't really understand what censorship and political correctness actually are, what they mean, or what they really entail

The Flood / Top 10 Japanese Cartoons of 1996
« on: April 08, 2018, 02:16:28 PM »
Breaking news: Anime is STILL the worst thing ever—and I'm one more year closer to proving it once and for all.

Just like I did for 1995 last month, I went ahead and tried every single anime, movie, and OVA released in the year 1996 that I could find a stream for on the Internet (not that I condone piracy or anything). I may not have been able to watch literally every little thing, however, because (believe it or not) there's some obscure shit out there that simply cannot be found anywhere on the Internet. I've still seen a good 90%, though, and that's gonna have to be good enough.

Why am I doing this? So that you, an intelligent person who doesn't like anime, don't ever have to. If you hate anime, but you have a friend who's really trying to get you into some stupid looking shit that you know you won't like, just come to me, and I'll be sure to let you know whether you should give it a try. That's the goal. 99% of the time, my answer will be "don't bother," but once in a thousand blue moons, there is an anime that transcends the medium, breaks all of its conventions, shits down the industry's throat, and is just, overall, a cut above the rest in terms of its artistic quality and is well worth your time.

Those are the anime that I'm endlessly searching for, and those are the shows I want to share with you. Lists like these will help facilitate that imperative.

Last time, for all of 1995, I was able to find two things worth watching—a single short film in an anthology of three, where two of the others weren't nearly as good, and a guilty pleasure ecchi comedy show that's only good because of its off-the-wall dub. That didn't bode well for the future, but I pressed on anyway.

So, across the entirety of the year 1996, what was produced in the anime industry that was actually worth a singular fuck?

YouTube

That's right, I couldn't find a single goddamn thing for that entire year. Now, some of you might be thinking, "That doesn't make sense. Even if you hated all the shows, you could still just make a top 10 list of the least-worst ones."

True, but that's not how I like to do things. The thing is, "top 10s" are kind of arbitrary. If there were more than ten shows worth recommending to you, why would I not recommend to you ALL of those shows? Why limit myself to just ten? Furthermore, if there weren't ten shows I thought were good enough, why would I fill up the list with a bunch of horrible crap just to round out the list to the random and arbitrary number that is ten? That would be silly.

So, at the end of the year, if there wasn't anything that made the cut, I'm submitting a blank list.

Hell, here's a list of every single thing that I didn't watch, either because it was too obscure and I couldn't find it, or because it was part of a larger series that I've already given up on, like Dragon Ball.

For all I know, any of these could be absolute gold, and I'm completely missing out on it because of how I choose to consume this medium. So by all means, maybe check those out at your own risk, if you can even find them anywhere. In terms of them actually being good, though? I'd say the odds are against you, because 1996 was a dogshit year for a dogshit medium.

Mind you, my absolute bare minimum score to end up on one of my lists is a 7/10. That's me trying to be generous. Originally, I set it to 8/10 until I realized I wasn't going to have anything for the 1995 list, either. So I lowered it by a full point just so I could squeeze Magnetic Rose and Golden Boy in with a couple of asterisks. I can't even justify doing that with anything I've seen for 1996, because the highest score I gave was a 6/10.

I was dropping so many 1/10s that my mean score on MAL dipped below 3, giving me the "Less than three" achievement.

Even I don't know at this point.

So, I suppose in order to prevent this from being a total shitpost, I suppose I might as well pad it with... I don't know, something. I guess I could try to give you a bunch of stuff that might suit your fancy, if you have low standards. I don't know if I'd consider these honorable mentions—they're certainly a cut above the rest, but they're ultimately just typical anime garbage. So, I'm not formally recommending ANY of these to anybody. Watch them at your own discretion.

Pity Top 5 of 1997

Spring & Chaos - If you put a gun to my head and asked me to give an AotY award to something from 1996, I guess it would have to be this. Directed by Shoji Kawamori of Macross fame, this is a touching little art film made to celebrate the Japanese poet Kenji Miyazawa's 100th birthday (despite having been long dead since 1933). I think it's meant to be somewhat of an artistic retelling of the man's life or something. Everyone in the story is depicted by a cat, which is kind of weird until you realize it's a reference to another adaptation of one of Miyazawa's more famous stories, Night on the Galactic Railroad, where everyone is also a cat. Anyway, it's not fucking fantastic or anything—there's a couple of terrible scenes that use CG that are incredibly off-putting and pretty much ruin the whole thing for me, but if you were wondering what my 6/10 was for this year, this would have to be it. It's the best thing 1996 could muster.

Rurouni Kenshin - It's a fairly standard yet highly sterile shonen series with mature, likable characters, a decent if kinda dull at times plot, and most notably, is relatively low on the stereotypical shonen tropes that so many detractors of anime are sick of. It's not completely bereft of them, or anything, but with regards to female characters being portrayed like actual human fucking beings, this show manages to impress. But I find it a little bit too long and too boring to hold my attention. It's just not terribly interesting to me. This is probably the most successful show to come out of the year 1996, if that means anything to you at all. It doesn't to me, but there you go. It's a 5/10.

Martian Successor Nadesico - Another relatively popular show. It's not at all for me, but I can see some extremely nerdy Star Trek-watching loser just eating this show up. It's not particularly serious in tone—in fact, it almost comes across like a parody of the sci-fi genre at times—so if you want to have a lighthearted little space romp with annoying Japanese anime characters, I don't know, fucking go for it man.

Jigokudou Reikai Tsuushin - This one, I'm only mentioning because I think it has really cool atmosphere and art design. It's a 30-minute horror-lite OVA with just one episode, so if you scare easily, maybe miss out on this one, but it shouldn't be that bad. I think it's made for kids. It's a hard one to find on Google, and I had to watch a version that didn't have subtitles—but the story was easy enough for me to follow that I honestly didn't even need them. If an anime is able to keep me entertained without even needing to understand what anyone is saying, that deserves props.

Remi, Nobody's Girl - A World Masterpiece Theater production. People seem to love those. If you don't even know what that is, skip it and watch Romeo and the Black Brothers instead. Or not. I would suggest that you just read the original stories, personally.

There's also Case Closed (AKA Detective Conan), Spooky Kitaro, The Vision of Escaflowne, Chocchan Monogatari, Kodocho, Baby and Me, and the X/1999 movie directed by Rintaro. I rated all of these between a 3 and 4/10, so I have no kind words to say about any of them, but they're all rated relatively high on MAL, so maybe they're worth giving a simple mention to.

That is all.

1997, you're next. I might do 2018, too.

shoe0nhead has to be the dumbest bitch on youtube
Someone saying a lot of things you disagree with doesn't make them dumb.

I've seen one of her videos, and whilst I disagree with many things she said she's definitely more intelligent than say, Tana Mongue (?).
tana mongeau is just a vlogger, she's not smart but she knows to stay in her lane

shoe has no business talking about any of the things she talks about

if on PC, go to your account
hover over "modify profile"
click "forum profile"
click "specify avatar by URL"
paste URL to the image you want to use (just upload to to imgur or something)

better to do it this way than to upload your own avatar, because uploading it to the site will degrade its quality

Watch Fist of The North Star. It's really charming and also somewhat hilarious.
i'm surprised i haven't watched it already, given how popular it is

i'm gonna hate it though, spoiler alert

you dropped yu yu hakusho after 6 eps? the first 6 eps are indeed the slowest(and nearby pointless) of the whole series and well... the rest of the show is so vastly different.
i'm not opposed to rewatching it, but that seems incredibly convenient

'cause the world of HxH gets a lot better as time goes on, and the nen abilities get fleshed out. Seriously, the Nen system is the best in all of anime/manga when it comes to supernatural powers because of how smart it is.

I also wanna know what you'd think about Meruem and his arc
are you referring to the 2011 version of the original? i'm assuming 2011

i didn't make it that far because i have little patience for long shows that don't get good right away, but i don't know, i guess i can put it in the "rewatch" bin for later

Texhnolyze (Madhouse, 2003, completed) This is a good show. None of you are gonna like it, though. If you know anything about it—and if you know anything about me—then it should come to you as no surprise at all that I wound up liking this one. If you don't know anything about it, then it's going to be very challenging for me to explain the show's appeal, because this is a very challenging show. There's very little to "enjoy" about it from the surface. It's probably one of the darkest and "edgiest" shows ever, with a lot of heavily nihilistic life-sucks-and-then-you-die philosophical musings (and just like that, I lost about 90% of you), but unlike a Berserk, it actually pulls this off very well, and never quite comes off like it's trying too hard, despite how absolutely fucking brutal it can get. I don't think you necessarily have to see eye-to-eye with the show's philosophy to enjoy it (even though it probably helps). Everything that happens is pretty open to interpretation, and you're never exactly told how to feel or how to react to any of it—it just is what it is, and the grim realism and attention to detail with the beautifully presented—albeit visceral and grotesque—backgrounds and character designs adds a lot to this particular style of storytelling. This also helped establish Ichise as one of my new favorite anime protagonists. It's an extremely rare treat when art is able to capture what life is truly all about, and believe me. This show gets it. Also, I'd like to just point out that Markhan—the person who recommended the show to me—is the first person to ever recommend me an anime that I wound up thoroughly enjoying, and nobody else has come within a mile of doing so. So, congrats. Sincerely. This is a special show, and it saddens me that I'll probably never come across anything remotely like it again. It's definitely earned a spot in my top 5. And I mean, I do have my problems with it, but I won't even get into them here. I'm too happy that such a show exists to even criticize it. 7/10*

*This could easily shoot up to an 8 or a 9. I just need to rewatch it a couple times before I make that decision.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, 1984) Scratching off some more Miyazaki off the list. I was actually prepared to give this one a 6/10, until I started thinking about it some more. I realized I was only giving it a positive score because it happens to cater to my politics. I think Nausicaä is a great character, and another fine example of the strong, independent, non-sexualized female lead that I'm so perennially fond of. But then again, she's also a bit of a Mary Sue. Then you have the film's overall pro-environment, anti-pollution message—a message that pleases me ideologically, but it's also executed in a rather heavy-handed way. I can't just give a movie points just for being on the right side of all these global or political issues—I have to rate things based on how they're presented, and in this case, I have to be just a little bit harsher, even though I wanted this to be my highest rated Ghibli film. 5/10

The Wind Rises (Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, 2013) This is the 6/10 I've been waiting for. As much as I respect the guy, I'm not sure if Miyazaki is capable of making a film that I could rate any higher than that—but this film is, for quite a few reasons, his best movie, and it doesn't surprise me AT ALL that a lot of people consider it among his worst. The story is told in a creative and decidedly un-Miyazaki-like way, but it's still directed in his trademark safe, cuddly, and inoffensive demeanor. The parallels between the Jiro's life and Miyazaki's are striking, and introduces within me a unique kind of fear that I've never felt before beyond trace and fleeting amounts—that the fruits of your creative passions, whether they be flying machines or cartoons, could wind up being used for great incomprehensible evil. That scares the shit out of me, and knowing that Miyazaki himself—being the pioneer that he is—now looks upon the industry he helped build with a cold and almost bitter resentment really gives the film a sense of gravitas that none of his other works have. I think if the film actually explored the consequences of this a little bit more, this could've wound up being a 7/10 or higher. As it is, not a whole lot really happens of substance. At no point does Jiro show any regret for what he's created—because the message of the movie is to encourage innovation in spite of the inevitable abuse your creations will undergo—but it would've made more sense for Jiro to have a stronger emotional reaction to it all, I think, just to give him a greater sense of humanity. Among other issues, too. It's pretty long, and not every scene in the movie is stellar, but it is—as of right now—my favorite of Miyazaki's repertoire. 6/10

Katanagatari (White Fox, 2010, six episodes) Almost decided to finish this one, but I couldn't. It was just getting way too stupid, and I've come to the conclusion that everything about the show is utter trash from the art style, character designs, the fucking story, the dialogue, and almost everything else except for the OST and a select few characters which were actually decently likable. The show puts all of its eggs into these small baskets and leaves the rest of the show to rot, and it's a bit of a shitfest. 2/10
