I should make it clear, though, that I think harassment is a much bigger deal than simply offending somebody.
If someone is offended, for example, when I use the word "nigger" out of its malicious context, they can go jump off a cliff.

Stop being such a chair Verb. See, it doesn't work like that. If you trailed my every post and called me a "chair" for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of me, that would be considered harassment. Yes. The reason it doesn't work this time is because your intent isn't to offend or harass me, but to illustrate a (weak and misguided) point. I shouldn't have to school you through this.

Verb you're talking about the word dingo being 'malicious harassment'. What would you call it? No, I'm talking about how any word has the potential of being used for malicious harassment. The word could be "cunt," or "dickless retard," or "fat flaming faggot," or "dingo," or "chair". If you can't tell if someone is using the word "dingo" with normal intent, jocular intent, or malicious intent, then that's on you. I'm saying it's really easy to tell the difference, unless your honest argument is that some words are okay to harass people with, because they aren't traditionally considered offensive, while the ones that are traditionally considered offensive should be banworthy. Which is what is called an arbitrary line in the sand.

That's hugbox mentality 101. This is "you're-either-with-me-or-against-me" rhetoric 101. I'm not about creating a "hugbox", and you know it.

Under that mindset anything and everything is harassment. Words have no meaning. Not if you're perspicacious enough to glean basic context clues, which, if you've passed the first grade, should be a simple enough task. You should be able to tell the difference between malicious intent and joking intent. Poe's law is very antiquated.

Just remember that it's not the word "dingo" by itself that qualifies as malicious harassment. That's a straw man.
Malicious harassment counts as malicious harassment. Any word can be used to maliciously harass anyone--if that's what you intend to do with it.
so, just admit that you're arguing for the authorization of harassment, and you'll have a consistent (though ethically questionable) argument

How on earth does the word 'dingo' qualify as 'malicious harassment'? The same way the word "cunt" would, if we used that instead. Or "fat cunt". Or "disgusting fat cunt". It doesn't matter what word you use--it's the intent behind it. Obviously. I see people complain about locked threads regularly. My priority is enjoyment. Only reason to come here at all. Then, frankly, we don't need you.

Perhaps the poll should be "would you leave the forum if we implemented a stricter ruleset".

I wouldn't post at any of those tbh. i don't care, that's not the point you asked for "fun" forums that would "slap" you for calling someone a "retard"--something as benign as "retard" Should we warn anyone who calls Elegiac dingo again? He certainly has a better case than Bezerk. If it ever reaches levels of malicious harassment again, I don't really see why not. What George Carlin taught you about words is a two-way street. Words aren't offensive in and of themselves, sure, but words aren't inoffensive in and of themselves, either. They're all neutral. They can all be used or any purpose we desire, because we created them for that exact purpose. And if we designate the word "dingo" as a word to harass another user and make them feel uncomfortable, then that's, in my opinion, worthy of punishment. Its The Flood. Not some Nintendo kid friendly site. There's a certain level of maturity expected here and that means being able to take a few insults. (obviously excluding the serious board) This is just silly. It's not about taking insults--it's about insulting in the first place. You're right--it's big of you to be able to take insults and not cry about it. But let's pretend every single user here was able to take malicious insults. ...Insults are still unacceptable. On principle. There is simply no place for rude and malignant behavior. No place for it. I still think this is a side argument anyways since technically it shouldn't be happening under the hybrid system. That distinctly matches the strict description.
The major difference between the three was how they handled shitposts. consider your priorities if you're honestly still at all concerned about your right to shitpost here seriously i don't even think anyone else but you cares anymore about it

With the system we have now people are getting warnings for calling others retard. i don't see the problem it's not like he was joking--he was being malicious the problem isn't getting warnings for name-calling--the problem is that cheat singled out one user for doing it, when the sort of thing happens all the time, everywhere find me a good, thriving forum that allows flaming other users--go ahead

This ain't even a moral dilemma, it's just... silly.
I guess if you were to force me to play the game, the obvious choice would have to be the table with more guns that don't have any bullets in them. Because I'd have a much higher chance of survival. An extra five million dollars is really not big enough compensation--it would have to be more like a billion dollars.
Even then, can the human brain even comprehend the difference between five million dollars and a billion dollars? With five million dollars, you'd be set for life, if you were smart about it. If you were a billionaire, you probably wouldn't even spend half of it in your lifetime.
But let's not even bother with the tiny differences between five million dollars and ten million dollars. There's nothing you can't buy with a five million dollar bank account. What's 10 gonna do for you?
so yeah, this is just plain silly
i wouldn't be analyzing the situation as critically as i am if you didn't honestly believe this belonged in serious

As is being established currently, this thread has absolutely no place here.
OT: No, I wouldn't risk the chance of death for any sum of money, because I'm not absolutely insane.

Well yeah, but that doesn't tell you the file size. It's a pretty sweet gif though. What's the issue?
large images (in terms of file size) take a lot of bandwidth mainly, it slows down the page
