my life goal is now to prove you wrong lol
and even if you're right, i could just make the argument that being happy & content with yourself is stupid because judging other people is not only fun and useful, but necessary and important 34953

I used the word "word" too much in this one. Bleah.
Hey, I just realized that "word" is autological! 34964

All right, just gonna go straight to it today. Got some real doozies this time. Still taking submissions, as always.

I honestly wasn't going to accept this submission at first, because I felt like it was too common, but it's just too much fun. It's a word you use to describe other words that are polysyllabic, or words that are very long or take a lot of effort to say or write. It can also be used to describe individuals who use such words. He was intimidating to speak to, because of his unwaveringly austere tone, and his loquacious, sesquipedalian verbiage. It's an eccentric word to describe eccentric people. Autological - /AW - toh - LAW - jih - kuhl/ [autologic] [autologically] From the Greek auto meaning "self", and the Greek logos meaning "word" or "reason". Here's a simple, but useful one. If a word is autological, that means that the word itself represents an example of its definition. For example--the word featured earlier, sesquipedalian, is a rather sesquipedalian word in and of itself, isn't it? It's autological. Another good example is the word "awkward". It's spelled kinda, well, awkwardly. There's a "w", a "k", and then another "w". There's no other English word that's quite like that. As a bonus word, the opposite of an autological word is a heterological word--or a word that expresses an example of the opposite of its definition. For example: "Big" is a small word, and "infinitesimal" is a big word, even though they both mean "large" and "tiny", respectively. Can you think of any other autological/heterological words? Now I really feel like I'm on a children's cartoon... Vermicular - /ver - MIK - yoo - lur/ From the Latin vermis, meaning "worm". Here's a good one to use on your enemies. It even starts with a "V", my favorite letter! Anyway, vermicular--definitely something you don't want to be, because it means worm-like. You might have heard the term "vermiform" before? That means to be literally shaped like a worm, but vermicular is something a little bit more personal. When you call someone vermicular, you're essentially diminishing them to the lowly status of a worm. Do be wary that it is indeed an adjective, however. That means you can't just call someone "a vermicular"--it's a word used to qualify a noun, so, you could say that someone is a "vermicular cretin", or a "vermicular piece of shit". Whatever you want. I don't mean to insult the intelligence of those who already know how basic English works, but I've seen a couple people try to use some of my words before, and sometimes the results are... messy. I didn't think I'd have to include a parts-of-speech code to these things, but at some point, I may have to. <_< Well, I hope you guys aren't hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobes. 34966
