Julie Taymor is apparently gonna direct it.

What. The hell.

With Trent Reznor on the soundtrack.
Quote
Author Chuck Palahniuk has been delving back into Fight Club, the work he's most famous for — first with the Fight Club 2 comic, the official sequel to his novel (and by extension the wildly popular film of the same name). Now we're hearing more about another extension to the Fight Club franchise, though like the comic book it's not in a media that you might expect. Over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Palahniuk reportedly told entertainment reporter Jeff Goldsmith that director David Fincher was working on a Fight Club "rock opera" alongside his longtime musical cohort Trent Reznor. The pairing makes a lot of sense; Fincher directed the original film, while Reznor has provided the soundtrack for Fincher's last three movies.

...Huh. I actually knew that Trent had interest in doing such a thing for a long time, but now it's... confirmed.

also:
>"a media"
>"reportedly told entertainment reporter"

two hours of music is a lot to swim through, so i recommend the Great Below (52:32) and the March (1:16:48)

lol no one cares but me
it's my favorite album of all time, though, so it's kind of a big deal for me

especially considering he's putting out a few unreleased demos from this specific time period

YouTube

outtakes:
1:16:48 "The March"
1:27:39 "Can I Stay Here"
1:31:39 "Hello, Everything Is Not OK"

as well as various alternate cuts from other songs

here's the original record w/ vocals

if the word "nigger" can be changed to mean "friend", we can change "weeaboo" to mean "someone who likes anime"
Fair enough
i watched that thing you told me about the other day

it was... odd

Lol verb loves it.

Soon we'll be getting a moment by moment thread when he caves into cocaine.

What part are u up to BTW?
halfway through root kanal

there was this part where i almost screwed myself when i quick-saved in a tight spot
but i made it out
with my skills

then there was a part where i was trying to go through a door, but i kept getting caught on something, and i suffered a couple of deaths because of it--i hope that's not gonna be a recurring theme

gonna take a break for now

Is this a verb HL2 impressions thread?

this is a verb HL2 impressions thread

do it
all right

is there a way to get it to stop telling me when to quick-save
i do it instinctively every time, which ended up landing me in a pretty bad spot earlier <_<

i guess i gotta just fight the urge to do it whenever it tells me (unless it's actually a good idea)

Huh...

Well, this must be one of the signs of the Apocalypse or something.
i don't HATE FPS games, all right lol

i just think they're overdone as hell, and there's little in the way of innovation

this isn't as bad, because there's this interesting story being told
and like, ammo is scarce, and there's all this tension and stuff--kind of reminds me of RE in a way

20 to 22 years I think.
wow, really?... what does that make gordon, like, 60?

i guess he wasn't THAT old in hl1, but i didn't think of him as a straight-outta-college type guy

does anyone know how much time has passed between gordon taking gman's offer and gman dropping him off at city 17

i like to know the precise scope i'm looking at

Oh you're gonna hate this game so much since its one of the genre's Jesus Christs.
it ain't so bad--i'm already farther than i've ever made it

i like the genuine sense of dread it gives you--like, it's not scary, but i feel like i should stop now and play later in the daytime

because i just know i'm gonna be checking my flank when i go to bed tonight <_<
and the ceiling

barnacles are gross

i'm so glad this didn't become a meme, so it's still funny

okay, so the episodes ARE the DLC
got it, that make sense

probably still could've given them proper titles though

so yeah, the last time i played this, i got bored shortly after escaping city 17 (which was admittedly an awesome portion)
i can't remember the exact part, but i remember just being a little bit confused, plot-wise

hopefully i won't be, now that i have a remote idea of what's going on

yeah, that's why i wanted this to be round robin--to give everyone a fighting chance

i think the one that i did however many years ago was single elimination--which is why it was such a big deal to me that i won

Half Life 2 is its own game. Episode 1 was released later. Then Episode 2. What's so hard to understand?
what's so hard to understand about my question

i never said it was hard to understand

i'm saying why the hell isn't it like this:

half life 2: episode one
half life 2: episode two
half life 2: episode three

that would have been the smart way of doing it, but they did it in an asinine way instead
