the fact that it needs to load each segment of the game is just a console thing, i'm sure, right
minor gripe, but i feel like the ps3 ought to be powerful enough to have everything preloaded 34805

i don't know if anyone can relate, but this is definitely one of those get-stuck-in-a-room-for-awhile-trying-to-figure-out-what-to-do-when-the-solution-is-practically-right-in-front-of-your-face games
like, "what do i do here... uh... uh... ... ... uhhhhh... ... ... OH, i can climb on that pipe--duh" an annoying thing i noticed about the ladders, though--sometimes the controls get confused, and i have to tilt the stick up when i'm trying to go down 34810
Serious / Re: Bernie Sanders apparently can't take being questioned« on: July 17, 2015, 02:43:21 PM »exactlyYou don't need to understand convoluted historical or sociological trends to understand that one side is comprised of raving, fundamentalist zealots and the other largely isn't.That's funny, because who the raving, fundamentalist zealots are changes depending on which side you're asking. the entire thing is just fucked there, that's my position it's all fucked 34812

Serious / Re: Bernie Sanders apparently can't take being questioned« on: July 17, 2015, 02:18:53 PM »A lot of those other conflicts are based on the same foundation: civilisation vs. fundamentalist Islam. It's no use ignoring Israel and Hamas if you can't ignore Kurdistan, Iraq, Syria, Boko Haram, the various terrorist attacks in Western countries et cetera.I don't know how I can be expected to just pick a side when 1. I don't know the entire history of the country (though you could argue that the onus is on me to educate myself, even though I truthfully just don't care at all) 2. The entire issue is so convoluted and difficult to follow, mostly because I don't know where to look, considering every single source I find is gonna have some bias towards one side--some details of every article are gonna be conveniently left out 3. Both sides seem to have a very strong case. If Israel is being attacked, they have the right to defend themselves. But if Palestine is being oppressed, they have the right to be upset about that. 4. There's still other pertinent shit to be worrying about and discussing--especially as someone who lives nowhere near the Middle East. And even when you account for the fact that both sides have a very strong case--it doesn't matter to these people. You're a fucking idiot if you support Israel, you're a fucking idiot if you support Palestine, and you're a fucking idiot if you don't care and refuse to pick a side because no conflict should be happening in the first place. Anywhere, ever. Though if you really want me to pick a side, I guess it would be Israel, arbitrarily, because out of all the articles I've read, I tend to sympathize with them more. Logically speaking, if I cared to look into it more, I'd end up "siding" with the ones who are taking the least measures to harm innocent people, and whose cause is the least religiously motivated. So... Israel. I think. 34814

In the end, I'm not going to shell out $60 for a game that's biggest draw is a good storyline, especially if the game itself isn't fun.i agree but that's all the more reason to take it seriously because there's money to be spent on these games 34828

Gaming / Re: Have you ever had someone play a retro game, and...« on: July 17, 2015, 01:30:56 AM »It certainly can be, but that's not its primary function. If a game is entertaining and has an important social point to make, all the better. If it's just entertaining, it's still good. If it just has a social message or whatever, but isn't fun to play, then it has failed.sure but that's not all what art is--it's not just about making "social points" at its core, it's just about expression which is very very broad--you could say it encapsulates almost all media (if not all) what you're saying is that we shouldn't take any of it seriously, though, because it's just entertainment but where do you draw the line between "taken seriously" and "taken too seriously" if i had to wager a guess, it would be the point at which the game is no longer fun to play, yes? |
