Do you guys play with subtitles on?... I don't. They take from the immersion, but sometimes I'm afraid I might miss a detail...

The Flood / What I learned from Ramadan« on: July 18, 2015, 12:53:37 PM »
I originally had this long-ass essay written up about this, but then I realized that I could just summarize this all in a few sentences... <_< I like to overdramatize things, especially if they're about me.
Well, as of today, Ramadan has officially ceased. I made it. I can start eating at decent times, I can mouth off all I want to, and I don't have to pray to Allah six times a day or whatever. So what did I learn from it? Well, two things: - Jack shit - Fuck all Okay, nah. There actually were a couple of things that I gathered from the experience. - A slightly greater appreciation for food (pretty much a given) - A degree of self-control and discipline - People tend to respect me more if I'm not saying "fuck" every other sentence. At its core, the purpose of Ramadan is to exhibit in oneself a degree of self-control, and to strive to be a positive contributor to your community, eg. be the best person you can be, and all that junk. I think I've succeeded, for the most part--both online and offline. Would I do it again?... Probably not, but we'll see, I guess. I wouldn't recommend it for... anyone. That goes for any Islamic activity, to be honest. But uh, yeah, I guess that's it. Happy eid. 34780

USF4 Top 8
Winner's: Momochi (best Japanese Ken player in the world) vs. Tokido (One of the two best Japanese Akuma players in the world) Ai Ai (Japanese Juri player who beat Daigo) vs. Infiltration (The other of the two best Japanese Akuma players in the world) Loser's: PR Balrog (Best American Balrog player in the world) vs. Nemo (Old school Japanese player; plays Rolento) GamerBee (Best Adon in the world; from Taiwan) vs. Nuckledu (Underdog; excellent American Guile player) I want Nuckledu to win, but he's probably not gonna. I also want PR Balrog to win, and he has a significantly higher chance than Du, I think, despite both being in Loser's. I want Ai Ai to bite the dust early. I really don't wanna see him win. I think his fight against Daigo and Nuckledu were flukes. I don't know Nemo, so I can't really say much about him, but I'd be indifferent if he won. I don't see him winning, though. I DON'T want Infiltration to win. I know he went face a couple years ago, but to me, he'll always be a heel <_< Besides, he had his time as champ already--he doesn't need it again. As for anyone else... I'd be okay if they won. If I had to make a prediction, based not on who I want to win, but who I actually think will win... It's either gonna be Momochi or Tokido. I have this funny feeling about both of them. I think it's their time. 34784

I mean, it's not unbeatable. If his opponent was too incompetent to counter that strategy, then he deserved to lose.
