Gaming / Re: Controversial opinions?« on: July 26, 2015, 11:46:01 AM »60fps is still objectively better though. It can't be objectively better. What if I'm making a movie that's set in the '70s? Should I film it in 60 frames? Really? 30 frames would be objectively better in that context. Intrinsically, neither is better than the other. The only thing you can say is that 60 is a "greater" number than 30. Which is arbitrary. They're just numbers. 34264

Metaphysically speaking, there is no such thing as "bad voice acting", or "bad acting" in general.
As such, complaints about a game's voice acting are always moot. Find better things to complain about. The most vital aspects of a game are as follows: Gameplay > Story > Lasting appeal > Music >>>>> Graphics > Everything else 34265
Gaming / Re: Controversial opinions?« on: July 26, 2015, 11:35:50 AM »
60fps is in NO WAY BETTER than 30fps.
People who care if a game runs at 60fps are stupid. A game's frame rate should be smooth and consistent--nothing more. 34266
Gaming / Re: Controversial opinions?« on: July 26, 2015, 11:23:06 AM »
Games should always be played with the default settings on your first playthrough.
If the default settings suck, this harms the game. A bad game doesn't automatically become good just because you have the option to block/remove the bad parts. (Maybe not controversial, but when people tell me to just "shut the feature off" if I don't like it, that's not a real solution) (If a feature is bad, it shouldn't be in the game, period) All games are interactive movies. 34267

FPS is the country music of video game genres.
Very popular. Very bad. And the people who like it are often very loud and VERY stupid. And once you've played one, you've basically played them all. 34268
Gaming / Re: Controversial opinions?« on: July 26, 2015, 11:07:08 AM »
Halo is garbage.
95% of all FPS games are garbage. Women are sexually objectified too often in video games. Oversexualization (or sexual exploitation) is a thing, and feminism is the solution. Portal is an FPS. I can now apparently add "inverted controls are okay" to this list, too. Mods ruin games. 34269

Dark Souls is bad.
i mean, i have a metric fuckton of others, but that's probably the most controversial one along with, "it's possible to dislike Dark Souls for reasons unrelated to its difficulty" 34270

as stupid as naruto is, i saw an episode on TV a long time ago where shikamaru and temari fought each other
and it was pretty cool, actually shikamaru's supposed to have a mad genius level IQ, apparently, so his battle plan was pretty clever and interesting to watch 34272

That usually shuts them up. 34273

In R&C, some of enemies will fraternize with each other if you leave them be, which can be clearly seen if you zoom in with the pulse rifle. Sometimes they'll even play rock-paper-scissors.

The Flood / Re: How closely does your avatar represent you?« on: July 26, 2015, 10:00:24 AM »
My first one was me, so, you can't get much more representative than that.
My current one is an album cover by my favorite musical project, and it's stylistically similar to my last avatar, so... Yeah. I like to make sure my avatars are perfect for who I am. Probably why I've had so few. 34279

this forum post explains it pretty well for me
"Look you gotta look at it like the analog stick is your head and neck. When you want to look up in real life you lean your head and neck back, just like pulling the stick back. When you want to look down you tilt your head and neck forward, like pushing the stick forward." but like i said, i don't invert my up/down axis--just my left/right axis it just feels right to me Oh, and I only do it for third-person games. Forgot to mention that. 34283

Gaming / How do you set your camera controls?...« on: July 25, 2015, 11:46:10 PM »
i think the way i set up my camera controls is kinda weird
when i tilt the stick to the right, i like the camera to turn left but when i tilt the stick up, i want the camera to turn up with it so, inverted on one axis, but normal on the other axis i don't know what the general norm is, and it intrigues me 34290
