It makes me sad that, even though one of my dad's favorite NES games is the shitty Metal Gear port (I still can't bring myself to tell him that it's not the real Metal Gear), he would never be able to get into the newer games, because he HATES extended/frequent cutscenes.
He just doesn't give a fuck about the story. But he's coming from a generation where you didn't have to give a fuck about the story. You just played the damn game.

I think there was a Despicable Me 2, and now there's a new one out called Minions. Which focuses on the yellow things. It's only a meme in the Facebook-friendly normie sector of the Internet, which is the primary reason I'd hypothesize why it triggers basement-dwelling permavirgins such as ourselves.

I also resent that mentality because, even when I was a kid, I still preferred to take it slow, just to make the most out of the experience. None of my friends were like that. They'd have new games beat in less than a week, which would piss me off, because not only do I know for a FACT that they missed out on some shit, I can't even discuss the game with them because I'm still meandering in level fucking 3 or whatever.

Elaborate pls I just wouldn't do it for the same reasons that I wouldn't marathon an entire TV show or read an entire novel in one day. You're not letting your brain take in everything, and unless you take notes during play (which no one does, even though they SHOULD), eventually, you're going to overload, and forget a great deal of what you experienced. That's how it is for me, anyway. When I pull all-nighters, I can't remember a fucking thing that I did, which is why I typically try to avoid all-nighters when gaming. I mean, games are kinda meant to be played only a couple hours per day anyway. I find that's not only important for health reasons, but also in terms of maximum enjoyment. It allows you to absorb everything little by little, savoring all the little nuances. Instead of just eating the entire cake in one bite. I understand being hype and wanting to play as much of it as possible, but I dunno.

Meditation isn't about a pose, it's a mindset. Find a comfortable position and a mantra, then do that for about half an hour to an hour a day. Does wonders.
Half hour seems like a long-ass time just sitting there. I mean, I'm sure if one's anxiety is intense enough that you just can't function unless you calm down, then I suppose there's a cost-benefit analysis to be made there in terms of it being an overall benefit, but... I don't know, meditation is just so alien to me. I'm not a spiritual person, at all. also go on steam pls

Still trying to find ways to cope with my anxiety. I'm a roll-with-the-punches type person when it comes to living life, so, I don't really like going in with a strategy, because if I fail, then... well, that's a lot of time wasted for nothing.
If I have to do something, I'll do it, because I know I have to. It doesn't really matter how I feel about it.
