'And I'm Here Too' came about when I realized that I usually don't stand out from everyone else; I'm just sort of there, an observer, not really participating in any meaningful way. In the group but not part of the group, so to speak.

'Sir Kekington' and 'Lord Keksworth' were the result of a friend and I agreeing that 'kek' sounded like British slang and proceeding to joke about possible names involving the term.

When Bungie announced that Destiny had a 'loremaster' somebody on here, can't recall who, commented that 'plotmaster' sounded sinister, so I shamelessly stole that as my username.

Everything after has been either a partial or currently entire reference to Metal Gear.
i have no idea what the fuck to call you

The point is that blood is shed either way, so acting like veganism is bloodless is silly. Which is exactly what the video in the OP of the thread is doing.
I don't think that's what it's doing at all—was there a specific part in the video that said, "Veganism is bloodless"? I don't remember that, maybe I'll have to watch it again.

But it's a short two minute video designed to get people to consider veganism. That's it. I don't see why it has to cover every little caveat of the choice when it's basically a commercial. You can call it disingenuous or hypocritical, but I just think you're being a petty weasel.

liking basically performs the same function without notifying you, so it's less annoying

when i get notified, i'd rather it be a well-put-together response than a simple statement of agreement

30996
i actually prefer that

"Citing U.S. Department of Agriculture statistics, Davis says of the 8.4 billion animals killed each year for food in the United States, 8 billion are poultry and only 41 million are cows, calves, sheep and lambs. So he figures you could double the number of cattle killed each year, and lay off the chickens, and consequently save about 7.5 billion animals."

Do you know the difference between "billions" and "millions", LC?

All you're doing is trying to use this scant case to justify your meat-eating, while tacitly belittling vegans at the same time.

And it's kinda pathetic.

But there was an article run by ABC a few years ago on the subject.
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=97836
"'This is something we've been aware of for a long time,' admits Jack Norris, president of Vegan Outreach in Davis, Calif. . .It's obvious that some animals die when their land is taken away for farming, Norris says, 'but you take it away only once.' It doesn't lead to the continuous slaughter of animals for human consumption, he contends, because once the land is turned into a farm, there aren't that many animals around to kill."

Hmmmmmm.

"Davis admits he doesn't really know how many animals are lost each year to agriculture, but he suspects it runs in the millions."

Millions. Wow. Sure, let's just trust this ONE GUY based on his random, rule of thumb judgment he more than likely pulled out his ass. Who the fuck is this Davis guy? Where's his research? Where's his proof? Where's his evidence? Where's anything?

Into the trash it goes.

The shotgun I would say is my favorite. That beauty is a shotgun AND sniper rifle all in one.
Yeah, for being a "close-range" weapon, it sure has a lot of fucking range. Kinda like Half-Life's, actually.

New topic: Favorite weapons.

There's not a whole lot of weapons in this game, but I still found myself picking favorites: The plasma pistol and the shotgun.

But are you still in it or nah?
I'm still in Keyes, yeah. I'd say I'm about halfway through with it.

It's just fact that millions of animals are killed every year in the making of the vegan and vegetarian diet. Same with the omnivorous diet. You can't avoid it and trying to claim one or the other is perfect and bloodless/ethically better is just silly.
first of all, let's see some sources

second, you're missing the point that veganism is not just a diet—it's a philosophical position that anyone can take, even if they still consume animal products. it's a simple concession that what you're doing is wrong and makes you a cunt

third, you're somehow implying that the meat industry, which is built around the systemic torture and slaughter of animals, is the same thing as the inadvertent collateral damage that comes as a result of crop harvesting

fourth, you're implying that we can't take measures to make crop harvesting safer for wildlife

fifth, you're an idiot, never post again

Not since I was a kid. My parents took out all the fun of playing with models when they told me that I shouldn't ever rip off tags/take them out of the packaging, because it "loses its value."

Like I gave a fuck. I just don't get that theory—how is something more valuable when it's in the box?...
I can understand wanting to collect and preserve all that stuff, but... not even being able to OPEN it?... People are silly.

All right.

Did I mention I'm liking this level so far? It's getting a little harder now, but that's because I'm starting to rush a little bit. Which, as I've learned, is a bad strategy unless you're just really good, which I'm not.

Someone said Kasich had no charisma tonight--I don't agree, I found his elocution and general demeanor to be pretty likable. He came off down-to-earth a lot of the time. He didn't really have anything particularly witty to say, sure, but I mean...

A vegan that gets their food from industrial agriculture has just as much blood on their hands as someone who eats both meat and plant matter though.
Yeah, that's totally not stretching it at all.

you just seem bitter towards vegans, tbh
did you get fucked over by one in a debate or something

I honestly don't get the huge Christie hate itt. I thought he did okay tonight but he lost me during the marijuana conversation.

demonizing marijuana is whatever
he's wrong, but that's such a petty issue anyway

I mean, the entire purpose of these debates is so that voters can have a better understanding of the nominees' platforms.
that's kinda why i resented it when meta was like "i hope kasich wins" or whatever

i knew what he meant--he just anticipated that kasich would do well, which is fine, but fuck this "winning" shit, tbh
