I'll have a review written up over the weekend.
This thread is pretty pointless now, but I guess AMA if your question can't be answered with "You'll know when my review is out." 30963

As some of you noticed, I didn't really care much for Two Betrayals. I won't repeat myself too much, but the level itself being a repeat of Assault on the Control Room wasn't really all that appealing to me. I think the added dynamic of having the Flood and the covenant fighting each other is interesting, considering they don't just fight endlessly--they actually kill each other, too.
Knowing that, when entering a skirmish, you can literally just wait until one side wins and then run in and kill whoever remains, or sneak into the crossfire and try to reach certain spots while your enemies are distracted by each other. Stuff like that is pretty cool to me, and even though I feel a little bit cheap doing that, it's all part of the game, if you ask me. It's fun thinking on your feet and strategizing in the thick of battle. Keyes was a much better level, even though the second half is basically the second half of the Truth & Reconciliation all over again. Only this time, again, the Flood is present, and my god... there's so many of them... It was pretty challenging not to get completely overwhelmed by them, and honestly, it was almost a joy seeing my old Covenant friends again. At some point, I expect the humans and the covenant to put aside their differences, because now, they have a common enemy. That's what I kind of expect to happen in Halo 2, anyway. Maybe that's why the Arbiter is a good guy. Anyway, I can't say I expected THAT to be Keyes's fate. Pretty gruesome. And significant, considering this makes the first time the game has made me feel some kind of emotion, 'cause I honestly expected him to make it out of there. Oh well. Onward to the final level, then. 30970

If you wanna call that "subjectively objective", sure, as long as "subjectively objective" means... like, there IS an objective truth, but we can never know the objective truth—we can only make educated guesses. Then yes, I'd agree with you.

Serious / Re: Is morality objective?« on: September 17, 2015, 02:20:54 PM »To me at least, sounds like your argument can only logically conclude that morality is subjective because otherwise we wouldn't need to assume anything, because we would just know it.Come on, Kupo, you know there are objective truths in the universe that we haven't unearthed yet. Science is objective—but we don't "just know" everything about science. That doesn't make science subjective—it just means we're stupid. Everything comes down to educated guesses, conjecture, hypothesis, assumption, theory, etc. We make all these guesses about the nature of reality—there's no reason we can't do the same with morality. 30977

A similar statement—Without sentient beings to create them, there are no cars. It's an inherent property of... sentient life. Without sentient beings to ponder it, there is no morality.Because that sounds almost like something I would say in favor of morality being subjective...? Cars, I think we can agree, exist objectively. We've created them. Just because there weren't any cars before we made any doesn't make the existence of cars subjective. It's not even up to interpretation, really, unless you're a solipsist or something. 30979

As soon as she's back from the store (allowing me to do other things instead) I'll let my wife know that marriage is pointless. It'll be hard losing half my income, but that really wasn't anything important.you're a christian, so it obviously means a lot more to you than most people here all i'm saying is, if you're gonna try and defend it, you're gonna have to come up with benefits that are exclusive to marriage, because none of us really have that emotional connection to the sanction of marriage like you do almost everything you listed can be easily applied to domestic partnerships outside of wedlock see: my parents 30980

The trilogy very much works like Star Wars - the original was self-contained but left things open, then 2 and 3 act more as a duo with one leading directly after the other. And the third one being pretty bad compared to the second.Cool, thanks. All right, let's try to get this game all finished by tonight!... No promises. If not today, then tomorrow for sure. 30981

No more DLC. All content that would have been DLC in the future is now already in the game on release.
Either that, or reduce the price tag of games worldwide by 20%. If that counts. 30982

I posited that we, the human race, as a gestalt, are taking the role of god when it comes to making moral distinction. We make the rules. We are the sole dictators of morality in the universe. Why us? Because there is no one else. What do you think about this? Because if you agree, it logically follows that we ought to find the best interpretation of morality there is. 30984

It honestly seems like a load of crap, to be honest. But like you said a couple times already--it's not like they expected Halo to become the juggernaut it is today, so maybe I could benefit from learning more about it.
For the time being, I don't really care to delve too far beyond the games themselves. 30987
