I would say that you should give a fuck because things tend to be more than just the one thing they appear to be when you first see them. Have you told yourself this? Have you considered that characters you might like and appreciate might actually have something really shitty about them that you probably shouldn't overlook? You can find appeal in more than just in her looks, which were indeed meant to appeal to hormonal males, but that in no way restricts you from finding something else appealing. That's not what I'm saying. I just think it's stupid to ignore the negatives. You accuse me of ignoring the positives--I'm accusing you of ignoring the negatives. you are way too fixated on one particular thing, and you're forcing yourself to not see other possibilities. In your own zeal that you are completely right, because you don't want to see women degraded, you are fixated on the negatives and failing to move past them to find the positives that you could actually enjoy.

You said that she could have a perfect character and that if she dresses or appears a certain way she's shit. That's ignoring the character, or at least putting maximum emphasis on the object part of them. No it fucking isn't. It just means that I have an intolerance for a particular character trait. I can acknowledge that Quiet might have character, but considering that she's designed only to appease sex-craved males, I don't GIVE a fuck. Why SHOULD I give a fuck? I'd like to save most of that for the review, but all right, I'll keep it short. There were many things I liked, and many things I disliked. Kind of a mixed bag, and I'm still trying to organize it all. How everything stacked up on my scale, you'll just have to wait.

Yeah, that's a thing, but men are treated as worthless, disposable henchmen, druggies, or other such roles. Basically just living targets for the protagonist to shoot, while the women can be sex objects. It's a silly generic role that's super easy to throw characters into without any care or thought.

I do have a problem with Quiet's attire though - not necessarily that she's barely clothed, but because supposed to be a trained soldier yet she's wearing nylons and a bikini top.
I mean if it were Grand Theft Auto or something it'd be understandable, but nobody is going to be wearing that in the middle of a warzone.
