Destiny is fun as hell. More power to the people that have played the same worn-out content for an entire year. A story would've been nice but a game doesn't need to really have a traditional plot structure to be fun or good.

That said, Bungie straight up lied about many facets of the game which resulted in a lot of disappointment in what they released.

what's your fav 2D Zelda? I think mine is Link to the Past. It basically set the series we know in motion. From the Triforce, to Ganon, to the theme of the Master Sword.

Speaking of which, pulling it out in TP is actually really bad ass. The ost was amazing.

LttP used to mine as well, but for me, it's gotta be Zelda II.

In fact, whenever people accuse me of only disliking Dark Souls because of its perceived difficulty, I always point at my having beaten Zelda II. I would bet that Zelda II is a much more punishing game than Dark Souls is.

what pisses people off is when you start dismissing franchises you haven't even played because they don't "look" fun

i judge games based on how they look all the time--i see a trailer for some dumbfuck generic-ass dudebro FPS game, and i'm like, "yeah no, fuck that shit, that looks dumb and boring as fuck"--i might even mention how shitty it looks to my friends, and i might say, "no, that game just looks like more unimaginative FPS garbage"

but i know in my mind that i can't have a qualified opinion of the game until i play it all the way through
there's only so much you can gather from watching youtube clips

so i don't disagree that you can gauge SOMEWHAT whether you'd like a game or not based on gameplay footage
it doesn't give you the full experience, obviously--so you can't say the game's bad
