I've only encountered two types of video hosts, those that take my time as pay and those that sacrifice space on the page to cover costs. As it turns out, the latter is providing the same video to me without taxing an additional 30 seconds of my free time.
okay you wanna respond to the point i made, or what

Think of it less as creating incentive as it is preventing the destruction of incentive. Without patents competition could literally just steal the profits out from under you and you are left with the bill. who gives a fuck the priority should be saving people's lives with medicine not fucking profits

>commercialization of the internet makes it good and free
there's times where you have differing views and there's times you just say things that are wrong lol
Free is good.
Advertising makes the Internet free.
This is a fact.
Time is not free.
Thirty seconds is not as valuable as five dollars or however much money you'd have to spend just to access a fucking webpage or have an account or whatever.

Patenting medicine really shouldn't be a thing.
It's supposed to be an incentive to innovate medicine. Whether it works or not? I have no idea.
It doesn't.

From the outside observer it can appear that weed has an effect on a persons motivation, but really that view comes from our own bias for what we think is best for that person. I know somebody who smokes weed all day everyday, and he has more motivation than me and I hardly ever smoke it. He's creating his own music and doing what he enjoys.
Weed has the ability to redirect your motivation to other things, not kill it. That's why some people who get into weed drop out of school, not because they're lazy degenerates but because they've decided that going to school is no longer satisfying or important to them. I completely sympathize with these people, I mean, school is bullshit for the most part.
"I'm not saying they're lazy degenerates, but they're lazy degenerates."

What? There weren't; that's what makes him a monopolist. That's what I'm saying. There aren't, but there shouldn't even have to be, because the bottom line is that he shouldn't have raised the price to begin with, so as to necessitate some future third party to step up to the plate. It's an undeniable burden that I feel is only enabled by our capitalist system. As I've noted, this has very little to do with the market as an inherently flawed system and more to do with the fact that this drug is incredibly niche by way of treating rare diseases, and the regulatory burden in the US when it comes to getting generic drugs through the FDA. Well yeah, clearly, that's a problem, too. I just think they're both problems. You can argue the regulatory burden is the more salient one, and I won't have much to say to that.

It shouldn't be a fucking competition. Actually it should be; the entire problem here is that this one company has the sole rights to manufacture Daraprim.
I'm saying there shouldn't have to be other companies in the first place to undercut him. Shkreli should just not be a greedy piece of shit. But he is--he's abusing his position as a monopolist, like you said, so... Now we have to try and undermine him somehow. We are now obliged to put in the effort in creating a generic drug, all because of this fuckhead. That's our glorious system at work.

Capitalism. Which is also the thing which lets other competitors come in and undercut the gougers
It shouldn't be a fucking competition. The only competition that should be occurring right now is who will be the first person to put this guy's head on a spike.
