What I get from your viewpoint on this subject is that you obviously don't like it, so everyone else who does is retarded. I don't know what you want me to say. If someone lived a perfectly healthy lifestyle, had a successful career, and was an overall likable person--except they bashed their skull against a wall five times before they went to sleep, I would call them out on it. I'd be like, "Hey! Stop that! That's fucking stupid! It's not ruining your life, and it doesn't affect anyone else but you, but that's still stupid!" I don't think it's that complicated.

Someone has to make a movie or some sort of literature where the antangonist is a bleeding-heart anti-natalist who just wants to sterilise the world.
That would make for an extremely compelling villain and would push the anti-natalist ideal into the subconsious of the viewer, which can only be a good thing.
not if they're a villain lol i've thought about writing that very book, though, except like... it would be better to write a philosophical treatise, tbh like a benatar or schopenhauer i don't think it's worth trying to evoke it in fiction, but it's worth a shot i guess it's apparently already been done in true detective
