what's your favorite thing about the game so far? for me it's the atmosphere
i've found that the game is best played alone in a dark room at night—i haven't had a more immersive experience playing a game

Playing as Samus made me buy Super Metroid. It's a game I've always wanted to play but never had a chance to because my older brother had a Genesis instead of a SNES.
welcome to the best game of all time enjoy your stay

what the fuck
the fight itself is also interesting for several reasons, because the abyss is such a weirdly perfect location to have the fight—it removes all depth perception, making it so the kings look farther away than they really are (which i always thought was an interesting effect) and allows both parties to have free movement, since there's literally nothing to keep your eye on but the boss itself having more kings spawn the longer you take to defeat them is also an interesting mechanic i'm honestly struggling to think of what not to like about it, really, unless you just don't like tougher bosses even the music, which tends to range from bad-to-mediocre in this game, was one of the better themes

>four kings in top 3
they're fun! i tend to favor the most conventionally difficult bosses because fighting them is super intense and it feels orgasmic when you finally take them out also they have a cool design

Hmmm who could possibly have such an obvious art style 🤔
>looking at enough shadman porn to be able to recognize the art style why would you admit to doing this

you will never guess who made this (unless you look closely at the tiny watermark) (or if you actually recognize the art style because you're a degenerate shithead loser)

so is it just me or is the numbering of the characters really bothersome
like, it seems so inconsistent. the third party characters arent all together, characters arent grouped by series
i thought it was based on the characters first appearance, but thats not right either
help
they're ordered by first appearance in a smash game, not in general first of all, echo fighters are grouped with the character they're echoing because duh 01-08 is the initial smash 64 roster, in order in which they're identified in the original intro09-12 are 64's unlockable characters, in seemingly arbitrary order (Luigi and Captain Falcon appear simultaneously in the intro, with Ness and Jigglypuff showing up after, yet the ultimate order is luigi/ness/falcon/puff, so i dunno what's going on there) then we get to the melee newcomer starters (13-17), which is an interesting case, because instead of going by melee's disc intro, they actually chose to go by the trailer they showed at E3, when the game was first revealed to the public for the disc intro, it goes like this: Peach, Bowser, Ice Climbers, Zelda, and Sheik—which is close, but does not correspond perfectly with ultimate's ordering, where Sheik is listed before Zelda this is because there's a very slight difference between the two intros: the original E3 intro doesn't show Zelda at all; just another clip of Sheik throwing some needles—the familiar Zelda clip of her using Din's Fire was added later when the game actually came out, and that's why Sheik is listed before Zelda 18-26 are all of melee's unlockable characters, and i honestly couldn't tell you what they're going by here—they seem to be ordered roughly by who would be most likely for the average player to unlock first (with Dr. Mario and Pichu being considered "early" unlocks, and Mewtwo and Mr. G&W being considered "late" unlocks), but that's just a spitball then we get to the brawl characters, and i think you get the idea by now 27-31 is Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, and Snake, which is the exact order in which they were revealed in Brawl's extremely memorable E3 trailer which i don't even think i need to link, and the rest (i believe) are based on the order in which they were posted about on brawl's old blog site, the Smash Dojo from there it's pretty straightforward i think, you get the idea

on the other, you could do something useful with your life instead

@Verb: You can now invade other players campaigns and take on the role of a demon in the environment. Wonderful!
imagine deliberately ruining your entire game without even realizing it

]are old school NTSC-J games compatible with US NTSC consoles?
I can’t imagine it being too much of a workaround to play it on an original console, excluding game rarity
(I know you’re super against emulation so I won’t suggest that)
yeah, the nice thing about the GBA is that it's region free, so i could even play mother 3 on it the only issue is that i cannot read moon—so i'd need a translation guide as well, among other issues Spoiler i've recently developed a fetish for playing new series in release order, even if the games are not connected by story whatsoever, because i want to emulate the experience of being someone who started the series from its earliest days and was able to witness its growth from the very first title—because of this, i like to completely ignore enhanced remakes like Shadow Dragon for DS and Shadows of Valentia
roy's game, The Binding Blade, is the sixth game in the series—before then, we have:
Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light Gaiden Mystery of the Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War Thracia 776
literally none of which i can play without importing and playing through the whole game in japanese
the first three were remade, but only the first two are available in the west—the Mystery of the Emblem remake is still exclusive to japan for whatever reason (again, not that i'm interested in playing remakes anyway)
the next game to come after The Binding Blade was simply titled Fire Emblem, because it was the first game in the series to get a worldwide release, so i suppose if i were to swallow my pride, that would be my starting point
but that doesn't get me anywhere in terms of getting to play roy's game, which is the only game i'm really interested in (i've heard that Roy is actually kind of a lame and shitty character from FE fans, but i honestly don't care)

As long as he did nothing illegal then I have more respect for any platform that doesn't ban him or Infowars. I may not care for Alex Jones but I do like when any site upholds the values of freedom of expression even though they aren't legally required to.
Exactly, and this is the answer to that regurgitated XKCD comic verb posted. No one here is a lawyer - we're not arguing constitutional law. We're arguing ethics and morality. Just because something is legal doesn't make it right.
but it is right in this case

looks like i'll need to update this i'll probably replace roy with simon, so then all five of my mains will be characters from series i've actually played and have emotional connections to—i'm only emotionally connected to roy because of melee; not only have i never played an FE game, the series also looks like it's gone to complete shit lately, and the game in which roy appears is still exclusive to japan anyway, so even if i wanted to play his game, i literally can't he'll be demoted to potential, i guess
