I never understood the complaints against the "too much water" criticism. There IS too much water in Hoenn, and its highlighted by that annoying surf music as well. It doesn't matter if it "makes sense", it wasn't executed well. I love the ocean and exploring it has always been a fantasy of mine, but it could have been done better.
Yeah, Kallie Plagge's infamous review was actually pretty reasonable, in hindsight. The hubbub was simply over the fact that she proceeded to give OR/AS the score it probably deserved (7.8), which is the lowest a main series Pokémon game has ever received by a big publisher like IGN. So, even though 7.8 is above average, it may as well have been a 2/10 according to the Internet and die-hard Pokémon fans in general. She liked the game--but she refused to give it an automatic 9/10 just for being a Pokémon game (like everyone else would've done). It was an audacious move, and in retrospect, I respect her for that. However, the phrasing "too much water" is pretty retarded, sensational, and meme-worthy. What she meant was that there were too many water routes with absolutely nothing to do in them but battle boring trainers who all use the same boring Water-type Pokémon, of which there was an abundance throughout the game. But because of the way she phrased it, people assumed that she was just an idiotic aquaphobe or some shit. Closing the distance between the important maritime destinations would've been the best thing to do. Her other (extremely valid) issue was the over-abundance of HMs--of which Gen III had almost ten--that OR/AS refused to change.

I'll archive this. Nice review; covered all the bases.
I probably would've brought up the revamped experience system, because this is the generation that introduced EVs and IVs. I also would've cited the inability to transfer Pokémon from previous generations to be a major con. I understand that it was because of the technological limitations of the time, but it was still kind of a huge bummer.

Which probably means enemies can use it, too.
Awful.

I have no preference, save that previously silent protagonists shouldn't speak in subsequent appearances. My one exception is Issac Clarke, who got 10x better after he started getting lines.
Too bad there will never be a Dead Space 3.
jak & daxter, yo even if he took a level in edge as well

I dunno, it's kind of lazy I guess, but I'd rather have a protagonist who doesn't say anything than run the risk of having him say the stupidest shit ever. There's nothing worse than being forced to play as a guy you hate, because he annoys you. They say there's a reason they never give Link anything to say...

Unbelievable.
Johnson?
Yeah. To my knowledge, Jill Stein hasn't made any major gaffs, so that's... nice.

IIRC Stoklasa adored TFA, so this is kind of odd. I thought Plinkett reviews were only for movies he hates.

Where do I write center
Like so: Always have (center) be the outermost tag, otherwise it'll create a mess. Anyway, pretty decent review. I felt like you could've gone a little more in-depth--you never really brought up the child/adult Link thing, the items, the enemies, the characters, the dungeons, the atmosphere, etc. I mean yeah, like you said--there's not a whole lot about this particular game that hasn't been said a million times already, but I still feel like there are certain key things about the game that should be addressed regardless, if not for the sake of having a fuller review. Sometimes it's nice to hear someone's thoughts on the finer details of the game, especially if you have something unique to bring to the table (but it's okay if you don't). I know you have a Pokémon review lined up next, but do you think you'll be reviewing other Zelda titles?

I've honestly never seen someone try to justify a bad game's quality with this statement.
This is an old thread, but I just had the conversation with someone the other day. I said that Smash 64 kinda sucked, and someone was like, "How can you say that? WIthout 64, there would be no Melee."

I honestly don't get all the hate b.lind got. It wasn't any more whit than Twitter or Reddit. It just wasn't what people were used to.
It was more the ugly-ass UI for me. And the glitchy interface. And the destruction of private groups and scripts, e.g. Coup.

Wow, is this really our first Zelda review? I could've sworn someone did Twilight Princess a while ago...
Also, tip: Try using the [ center ] tag for images.

Here you can put in a few more for me.
Uncharted 4: 5/5 Quantom Break: 2/5 No Mans Sky: 3/5 Deus Ex mankind Devided: 4/5 Abzu: 5/5 Doom: 5/5 Homefront The Revolution: 1/5 Far Cry Primal: 3/5 The Division: 4/5 Umbrella Corps: -1/5
Write some reasonably in-depth assessments for each game in a separate thread, and I'll be glad to add them. This is an archive for reviews, not just scores. They can be mini-reviews if you wanna save time.
Big Boss's OoT review added.

TFW you can pick out a handful of what Neko and Psy are saying but not enough to fully understand.
