I really like kasich, I actually volunteered for his campaign call banking and shit. The guy would have been torn apart by Hillary. She's an excellent spin artist (not an insult, I see it as an actual skill) and her ad team is savage. Well, keep in mind that most Trump supporters only support him because he's a cartoon character--a caricature of what a presidential candidate is supposed to be. They're not actually concerned about competence--they want to fuck the establishment in the ass. He's basically a #YOLO candidate--whatever happens next is just popcorn material. Kasich is an overall brighter guy, but Trump supporters aren't really interested in that. They're not interested in nominating someone with the personality of a handkerchief, or any other washed-up member of this crumbling Republican party. Instead, they want the guy who has the best shot at shaking things up, no matter how stupid. Because they know they don't have a chance any other way. That's the way I see it.

As they get older, their standards for entertainment increase exponentially. It takes a lot more than jangling a ring of car keys in an adult's face to make him laugh or keep him interested. This simple and easy example can be extended to all forms of entertainment. The most entertaining games tend to be very complex. The more complex something is, the more brainpower it takes to comprehend. This is why chess is more interesting than checkers, and that smarter people will tend to play chess rather than checkers. You can also look at games in terms of what's actually being accomplished, or what the overall cost of playing this game is. Chess is a game that can be played practically for free--the only cost involved is time, whereas the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry which is essentially built with the bodies of injured children and budding athletes. If you're able to overlook such a cost for such a frivolous game, how intelligent can you really be?

I think most people recognize it, actually--but they also recognize that the risk is pretty minimal. Not to mention, this particular website has been around for quite awhile. Maybe correlating your IP to an email address, and using tracking cookies to determine what sites you use, such as amazon. Well now someone could have access to your amazon account, since people typically use the same password for multiple sites, and could defraud you using linked credit cards or address information. Overall it's just a very stupid thing to do, regardless of how you feel about personal privacy.

It's not hypocritical to give ignorant people the benefit of the doubt during a discussion. If you can refute an argument from a multitude of different perspectives, that's a good thing. Privacy is unimportant, but not everybody sees it that way. So, it becomes necessary to look at the issue from a wide array of viewpoints, because discussion can't really take place if we're working against fundamentally different premises. It's also not hypocritical because I consider money matters to be an issue of security, not privacy. There's a distinction. If you fear being defrauded, a more sensible solution (in my opinion) would simply be to not have your credit card information online, rather than fuss over having a random password anonymously submitted to some random fuck-off website. This is neither hypocritical nor missing your point--all I'm doing is giving an alternative (and arguably better) solution to that problem. If you need to make some kind of online purchase, there are safer ways of going about that.
