The best thing is that it's over now and I don't have to fucking hear about it anymore.

The whole gamut.

Poor spectators are the fucking worst, though.

Would've added 30 more paragraphs if I had the time.

It's okay though Verb, I still love you and all that.
I actually watched the game with my parents, and if there's one good thing I can say about baseball, it's that it seems like a very gentlemanly sport. Unlike football, all the players looked like polite, respectable human beings. They cut their hair and they had good sportsmanship--never really swearing or getting angry or pissed off in the dugouts, at least from what I saw. That made the whole thing a lot easier to sit through because of how refreshing it was.

NO FUCK THAT

MAKE HIM THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE

HE'S ALREADY DONE SO MUCH GOOD FOR US, AFTER ALL

Verb, your spitefulness for other peoples enjoyment is a bit... immature, to use a nice word
An immature viewpoint--also hypocritical.

Why is it okay for you to spite me for doing what I enjoy?

I feel like we've been over this.

HOLY FUCK

THE CUBS HAVE JUST WON THE WORLD FUCKING SERIES!!!!!

Suddenly, all of my life's problems have been inexplicably solved, all thanks to a group of men who scored an arbitrary number of points in a meaningless culturally significant game of baseball!

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

I'm personally elated by this, because they haven't won something this big in a very very long time! And since I live vicariously through my favorite baseball team like a vapid and soulless loser, it feels almost as good as accomplishing something meaningful myself! If only I ever had.

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

Did anyone else see Lebron James in the stands? I was like, oh my gosh! He's just like us! I haven't felt so validated about my miserable existence since the LAST world series, where I saw some OTHER famous people I will never meet on my television!

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

I think sports are a valuable and smart use of our resources. It's very intelligent to spend years of your life training to become the best in the world at hitting small objects with sticks--only to lose and achieve crippling depression as a consolation prize. I think that's beautiful. Sports are beautiful.

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

Later this week, I'll be heading off to the polls to vote for my favored presidential candidate. I really don't like Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, but at the same time, voting for anyone else would just be a waste! Nonetheless, I will vote like the hapless little sheep that I am--after all, I am a sports fan!

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

Come to think of it... Have I ever done anything meaningful with my life?

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

I guess if I think about it, the world really is a terrible place, and we should probably do something about it--but it's so much more fun to sit back and distract ourselves with pointless, superficial entertainments. Baseball provides a socially-acceptable wank that I can share with many people who are just as stupid as me.

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

Hey, do you think if we were as enthusiastic about medicine as we are about men hitting balls with bats for three hours, we would've cured cancer by now?

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

To be honest, I don't even know how baseball works! I don't even know why I root for the team I root for! I just follow the flock for no reason, because it makes me feel good to be a part of something that the public deems important--no matter how artificial and insidiously wasteful it is!

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

For every winner, there is also a loser. In a bracketed competition like baseball, however, there can only be one champion of the World Series. Everyone else is guaranteed to lose--to fail. I celebrate this insidious, wasteful, and inherently self-destructive behavior--with a smile.

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

I'm probably gonna forget about this by next week.

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

But then I'll just move on to the next worthless sporting event!

THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES
THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES
THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES
THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES
THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES
THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES

As expected, Smash finals are taking their sweet time. This may take until 9:30 EST or later...
tfw they couldn't just keep 64's overall combat system in later titles

NuckleDu strikes me as a rude fucker tbh
Yeah, and he plays R. Mika to boot.

FYI:
Smash 4 has Bayonetta. Overwatch has Mei. Street Fighter V has Mika.

Just two more regional finals until Capcom Cup--North America and Asia/Oceania.

DR.Ray (Dominican Vega player) just qualified after winning Latin America's regional finals, beating K-Brad.

Doesn't Jill Stein believe 9/11 was a hoax?
It wouldn't say anything about her intelligence if she did, but no. She just stated that she wants to know the "full story."

And who doesn't?
Isn't she anti-vax?
Nope, she's just critical of the current practice.

Quote
"I don't know if we have an "official" stance, but I can tell you my personal stance at this point. According to the most recent review of vaccination policies across the globe, mandatory vaccination that doesn't allow for medical exemptions is practically unheard of. In most countries, people trust their regulatory agencies and have very high rates of vaccination through voluntary programs. In the US, however, regulatory agencies are routinely packed with corporate lobbyists and CEOs. So the foxes are guarding the chicken coop as usual in the US. So who wouldn't be skeptical? I think dropping vaccinations rates that can and must be fixed in order to get at the vaccination issue: the widespread distrust of the medical-industrial complex.

Vaccines in general have made a huge contribution to public health. Reducing or eliminating devastating diseases like smallpox and polio. In Canada, where I happen to have some numbers, hundreds of annual death from measles and whooping cough were eliminated after vaccines were introduced. Still, vaccines should be treated like any medical procedure — each one needs to be tested and regulated by parties that do not have a financial interest in them. In an age when industry lobbyists and CEOs are routinely appointed to key regulatory positions through the notorious revolving door, its no wonder many Americans don’t trust the FDA to be an unbiased source of sound advice. Monsanto lobbyists and CEOs like Michael Taylor, former high-ranking DEA official, should not decide what food is safe for you to eat. Same goes for vaccines and pharmaceuticals. We need to take the corporate influence out of government so people will trust our health authorities, and the rest of the government for that matter. End the revolving door. Appoint qualified professionals without a financial interest in the product being regulated. Create public funding of elections to stop the buying of elections by corporations and the super-rich."

To be fair, I almost refused to evolve Braxien in X because of how bad I knew Delphox was going to be.

Genwunner inbound: hate to say it, but release order

Gen IV was the last to have uniformly good starters; I've liked about one starter from each gen since Gen V

Gen VII easily has my least favorite starters, but at least there's nothing as bad as Chesnaught this time.

Serious / Re: Emotional Appeals

You're one of the most ineffective and ignorant arguers on this forum. Don't kid yourself.
I don't think I said a single thing about my arguing skills--just that I understand the (antiquated) rhetorical triangle better than you do, which is obvious. You don't have to be an effective "arguer" to understand the triangle and its applications--of which pathos has none in any rational setting. Maybe you could get away with it in a film analysis, or perhaps some kind of treatise on the value of art, but it has absolutely no function in a setting where logos and ethos would be far more effective. Using pathos in an academic setting is disingenuous. You're taking the intelligence of your audience for granted. That's not effective argumentation.

I mean, it's effective in the sense that there's always going to be fucking idiots who will hoot and holler if you force them to remember 9/11 or Ronald Reagan's presidency. But hinging on the stupidity of your audience is something I will never consider honest. If you've ever been swayed by an emotional appeal, I say you're a moron.
