Welp, already got a shiny Ditto out of it, some 100+ Dittos in. Doesn't have ideal IVs (or Impostor), but it's still kinda neat to have.

Gaming / Re: Pokémon Central« on: December 14, 2016, 05:11:53 AM »
So there's this method to getting a legit 6 IV Ditto that I've been grinding for. The first Ditto I caught has 4 perfect IVs, one nearly-perfect IV (29-30), and one imperfect IV (Attack). The next two Ditto had dogshit IVs (four perfect, overlapping attack and special attack). Gonna see if I can get at least five perfect stats with no overlap between Attack and Special Attack.

The Flood / Re: Self-plagiarism« on: December 14, 2016, 04:25:27 AM »
The only issue I have with it is that the student would essentially be receiving double credit for one paper, which is bad. That's not "plagiarism"--that's academic dishonesty. Plagiarism involves at least two parties--you cannot plagiarize yourself, and the very idea kinda makes me chuckle. So too does the notion of giving yourself "due credit." C'mon now.

I generally know within an hour of playing the game whether I'm going to enjoy it or not.
Half-Life 2--projected rating (one hour of gameplay): 8-9/10. actual rating 7/10 (revising to an 8) Halo: CE--projected rating: 4-6/10. actual rating: 5/10 Fallout 3--projected rating: 6-8/10. actual rating: 7/10 (revising to a 6) Wind Waker--projected rating: 7-9/10. actual rating: 10/10 Pokémon Moon--projected rating: 7-8/10. actual rating: 7-8/10. Even if a game has a "slow" start, it's easy to gauge within a short amount of time through small details and tone-setting whether a game will end up being great or not. I can't think of a game that has surprised me too heavily, unless it was in a negative way (SSB Brawl: projected rating, 10/10. actual rating: 4-6/10). 11776

Gaming / Re: Why is PSN's download speed so fucking terrible?« on: December 13, 2016, 08:28:20 PM »For one thing, when XBL came around, online gaming wasn't really a basic service like it is today. PC games had them, but it was mostly unexplored territory for consoles. They offered benefits like downloadable DLC content that self-installs, voice chat with a headset included, and a friends list. 15 years ago, these were cutting-edge features. By comparison, PSN did the bare minimum required for each gen.Well, other than faster download speeds and free service, what more out of PSN would you want right now? 11779
Gaming / Re: Why is PSN's download speed so fucking terrible?« on: December 13, 2016, 08:11:41 PM »Maybe other people had better experiences than me.Well, I certainly did. I genuinely don't understand this "slow downloads" meme. Maybe I'm just more patient, and I can't tell when something is going slower than it should? Either way, it's a non-issue for me, like I said. I don't think wanting free online services makes you a cheapskate--why should such a basic service be paid for at all? It's like water. And as far as I'm concerned, being free pretty much trumps any XBL advantage you could name. 11780

PSN was always held together by duct tape.I've hated PSN for years. I can't fathom how some people can unironically believe that PSN is somehow equal to or greater than XBL, because it's very clearly not.PSN was free on PS3, making it better by default. It wasn't that slow, and even if it's super slow for you, it's still free. You don't have to like it, but it shouldn't be that difficult to understand why some people would have preferred it for a time. PSN isn't free anymore on PS4, obviously, and that's a big fucking problem for me--but it was indisputably the better option for people like me who CANNOT STAND annual fees. 11781
