in the interest of maintaining America's democratic integrity
Which it doesn't have.

If hard determinism is fact then punishing someone's wrongdoing is as morally reprehensible as murder.
No.

Who could've guessed?

Even the trailer looked dreadful.

You say you debate this constantly, but I don't think I ever got an answer on how Empire was in any way bad from you.

It's not as complete or as eloquent as I'd like it to be, but that's all I was willing to type. Kupo was asking me to write up an in-depth analysis of all the movies, basically, and I thought that was a stupid waste of time, so I gave my thoughts in brief.

TFA was literally just two idiots whacking each other's sabers together awkwardly.
I guess you're right--TFA is a carbon copy of ANH.

Vader's helmet looks silly and un-intimidating. I said it.

We just had a thread on this, you didn't need to waste your time.

Yes, hard determinism is the most obvious fact of reality ever and there is no free will at all. Got it.

Kasich himself has told them not to do this. Trump is our president now. We need to deal with it.
No we don't. I plan to piss and moan for the next four-to-eight years.

Freedom of speech is the freedom to yell fire in a crowded theater, or to verbally harass someone.

Freedom of expression is the freedom to hold whatever opinion you'd like and let it be known you hold it, without persecution.

One is a joke, the other is the foundation of democracy.
I don't think I've ever seen that distinction made before and I've had to read a ton about free speech and limits to human rights. Is this some American approach I'm not familiar with?
No, SecondClass just likes to redefine things a lot based on his own conception of how things work. Which would be fine if he made that clear, but he doesn't ever.

NEW MUSIC FROM NINE INCH NAILS

LATE LAST YEAR, REZNOR DECLARED, “NEW NIN COMING IN 2016.  OTHER STUFF, TOO.”  THE OTHER STUFF AMOUNTED TO THE SCORES FOR NASA’S JUNO SHORT FILM, THE CLIMATE CHANGE DOCUMENTARY “BEFORE THE FLOOD” (FEATURING THE SONG “A MINUTE TO BREATHE”) AND THE ABOUT-TO-BE-RELEASED PETER BERG FILM “PATRIOTS DAY”.  NOW JUST IN TIME HE MAKES GOOD ON THE NINE INCH NAILS SIDE OF THINGS.

NOT THE ACTUAL EVENTS, THE NEW 5 SONG EP WILL BE RELEASED NEXT FRIDAY, 12/23 WITH PREORDERS LIVE RIGHT NOW.  THE EP FINDS REZNOR AND NOW OFFICIAL BANDMATE ATTICUS ROSS TAKING AN UNEXPECTED LEFT TURN FROM 2013’S HESITATION MARKS AND SOUNDING UNRECOGNIZABLE FROM THEIR CURRENT FILM WORK.

“IT’S AN UNFRIENDLY, FAIRLY IMPENETRABLE RECORD THAT WE NEEDED TO MAKE” SAYS REZNOR.  “IT’S AN EP BECAUSE THAT ENDED UP BEING THE PROPER LENGTH TO TELL THAT STORY.”

There's also this:
Quote
THE FRAGILE: DEVIATIONS 1 LIMITED EDITION 4X VINYL AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER NOW

A VERY SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION OF THE FRAGILE IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER IN THE NIN STORE.  THIS UNIQUE VERSION OF NIN’S CLASSIC RECORD WAS CREATED BY TRENT REZNOR AND ATTICUS ROSS AND FEATURES 37 INSTRUMENTAL, ALTERNATE AND UNRELEASED TRACKS, MANY OF WHICH HAVE NEVER BEEN HEARD BEFORE ANYWHERE.

[...]

REZNOR EXPLAINS, “THE FRAGILE OCCUPIES A VERY INTERESTING AND INTIMATE PLACE IN MY HEART.  I WAS GOING THROUGH A TURBULENT TIME IN MY LIFE WHEN MAKING IT AND REVISITING IT HAS BECOME A FORM OF THERAPY FOR ME.  AS AN EXPERIMENT, I REMOVED ALL THE VOCALS FROM THE RECORD AND FOUND IT BECAME A TRULY CHANGED EXPERIENCE THAT WORKED ON A DIFFERENT YET COMPELLING LEVEL.  THE FRAGILE: DEVIATIONS 1 REPRESENTS ATTICUS AND I EMBELLISHING THE ORIGINAL RECORD WITH A NUMBER OF TRACKS FROM THOSE SESSIONS WE DIDN’T USE BEFORE.  THE RESULT PAINTS A COMPLIMENTARY BUT DIFFERENT PICTURE WE WANTED TO SHARE.”
THE FRAGILE: DEVIATIONS 1 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON ANY DIGITAL SERVICES AND ONLY AVAILABLE IN THIS FORMAT WHILE THIS LIMITED RUN LASTS.

In addition, all NIN records will be reissued in vinyl format next year. 2017 is already looking to not suck.
Quote
TRENT REZNOR AND NIN ART DIRECTOR JOHN CRAWFORD SET OUT TO MAKE THE “DEFINITIVE EDITIONS” OF ALL THE MAIN NIN RELEASES ON VINYL.  REZNOR:  “WE WANT TO PRESENT THE CATALOG AS IT WAS INTENDED TO BE, WITH NO COMPROMISES.  THAT MEANS A CAREFUL REMASTERING OF THE AUDIO FROM THE ORIGINAL SOURCES, A CAREFUL AND PAINSTAKING RECREATION OF THE ARTWORK, PRISTINE MATERIALS, SOME SURPRISES AND AN INSANE ATTENTION TO DETAIL THAT YOU PROBABLY WON’T NOTICE… BUT IT MATTERS TO US.  NO EXTRA BULLSHIT AND GIMMICKS – THE “REAL” RECORDS IN THEIR TRUEST FORM AVAILABLE AT A REASONABLE PRICE.”

actually "freedom of expression" is an umbrella term for the five freedoms--speech, assembly, petition, press, religion

what you described as freedom of expression is still freedom of speech--harassment, threats, yelling fire, etc. are simply cited as exceptions that are not protected under free speech laws

Fanservice is there just like TFA, but TFA's was implemented more seamlessly. It's jarring here.
Sorry, but not really if you ask me. TFA threw stuff in your face so obnoxiously it was like some old guy holding a picture up and going

"REMEMBER THIS?????"

The only time I felt that with Rogue One was the stupid blue milk in the beginning. But it wasn't as in your face as the chess board thing from TFA, or whatever else they managed to throw in your face that my mind blocked off.
so what you're saying is

it's the dark souls 3 of star wars movies???
you can point to a lot of franchises that do that

we like to look back a lot, but it's having a really toxic effect on media

that said TFA is still my favorite SW movie

can we talk about the fucking tentacle hentai scene

what was that about

11663
Cnidaria is an awesome name.
It's the title of my new mixtape

11664
Flee prepping them truth bombs
why are you constantly on his dick

11665
except jellyfish is the actual common name for the species in order to differentiate it from other actual species
Marine biologists prefer that you call them "jellies" because they're not fish in any way/shape/form. "Jellyfish" being the common name doesn't make it any less technically wrong--it's just that nobody cares.

Quote
and in this case chances are most people aren't going to know what a "demisexual" is because it's not an actual sexuality. it would be like if you made up your own name for jellyfish and only called them that within a small circle of people and you know and then started proclaiming it's the actual commonly accepted name for them
I'm not aware of anyone proclaiming it's the commonly-accepted term--just that it is a term that can be used if you please.

4 > 5 > 7 = 6 > 1 > 3 > 2

I'll decide where RO is when I rewatching it. At the moment, it's one of the better ones. Biggest complaint is that I can't remember the name of anyone in the squad except Jyn and K2, and that most people didn't get any development.
did phantom move up
RotS moved down.
i think your taste is

11667
that doesn't make it a real sexuality, thats just normal and doesn't really need to be explained away with a special snowflake title
Jellyfish aren't fish--I'm still calling them jellyfish, because calling them cnidarians (as cool as that sounds) would be weird and nobody would know what I'm talking about. And calling them "jellies" just sounds dumb.

11668
Labels are created to distance people from each other.
No, they're created to categorize things. That's all.

Quote
"A demisexual is a person who does not experience sexual attraction unless they form a strong emotional connection with someone. It's more commonly seen in but by no means confined to romantic relationships. The term demisexual comes from the orientation being "halfway between" sexual and asexual."
Where is your problem here?

11669
that's just called being in a close relationship with your significant other, that isn't a special sexuality as sexuality is concerned with who not how
"close relationship with your significant other"
46 characters

"demisexual"
10 characters

one of the cornerstones of language and communication is concision

it was also literally made up by a 15 year old girl on an anime roleplay message board
Do you think this matters?

It wouldn't matter if a 3 year old scribbled it on the living room wall. It's still a valid label if people take it up.
