I'd type it but I'm too lazy to get into details.
oh that's a shame, i'm sure there are plenty of important details you left out of this complex case

What did Ender do?
TL;DR version: Posted a bunch of spam text that was so large it broke the layout of the threads.
oh really what's the long version

It puts it in the report queue for later? I'm only guessing how the system works, I don't personally use it.

I'm not reporting one post multiple times, I'm reporting the same post being posted elsewhere on other boards including serious since it breaks the forum.
>be a mod
>someone spams or breaks the site while AFK
>come back
>see one reported post
>read it
>check their post history
>delete all the posts

you don't need to know how being a mod works to know how to use common sense

The first two were awful and I didn't finish any of the GBA games.
Zelda II was the Dark Souls of the NES.

The game wasn't bad--you're bad.
It was shit and you and I both know it.
I'm dead serious, it's actually pretty great.

I can see why you wouldn't like the first one, even though that one isn't that bad either.

I've never even made it to the temple itself. I get the lens of truth and follow the goron ghost then just give up.
Uh-huh, it's a slog. The temple is actually where it picks back up, in my opinion--but there's a lot of mixed opinions of that section overall.

The main appeal of the game is, as Vien said, the sidequesting. You get to know all the people in the town very well over the course of the three day cycle, and the constant brooding atmosphere is remarkable. I'd say give it another shot when you're able--but I dunno how many times you've tried it already.

11051
-I have tried playing MM twice and I just can't get into it. Each time I've made it to the snowy mountains and just give up. I have no idea what it is.
Snowhead is the absolute worst part of that game. I think the rest is totally worth it, though.

I don't think engineers look at it as laziness rather than as efficiency when they make something that lets us do things easier.

TV remote - a convenient device that allows us to expedite an otherwise tedious process, or a symbol of sloth and lethargy that only exists to keep us from getting off our own asses and changing the settings ourselves

modern TVs don't even function without a remote--does that say anything about us

and maybe if we didn't rely on cars so much, we'd actually have an excuse to skip leg day--or are cars just that convenient

where is the line drawn

they'd probably be an unpleasant weirdo (because that's just my luck).
Wow, rude. What about the Legend of Zelda Game & Watch game?
oh yeah that's a thing lol

I heard it's unlockable on G&W Gallery 4, which I have, so I could definitely play it.

I've actually been trying to play all the Zeldas I haven't played/beaten yet. Progress:

PlayedBeatenGame
The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

I've also never played any spin-offs or anything outside the core series, incuding Link's Crossbow Training, Hyrule Warriors, or any of Tingle's games. I've also never played any of the CD-i games, despite owning a CD-i. I really want to try them out some day, but they're very rare and expensive, last I checked.

I'll probably never get to play Four Swords, because it's MP only and I'm not about to go around asking people if they want to play through an entire Zelda game with me--and even if I found someone like that, they'd probably be an unpleasant weirdo (because that's just my luck).

Wikipedia tells me that a special single-player edition of the game was actually released free for a limited time over the past few years, and every time, it slid under my radar. I'll be on the lookout from now on, because that's my only chance at playing this game.

As for Tri Force Heroes, I really don't even want to play it. I'm kinda sad that it even exists, to be honest. I'll probably pick it up if I see it for $10 or less.

I know it's the typical answer, but for me, it really is my favorite. OoT. No game has ever made me feel the way OoT has. In fact, I wouldn't even put any games in a list with it that have come out in the past 10 years or so. No game has come close to it, or other games near its time. I know a lot of people don't like The Witcher 3. But now that I think about it, I would put that up there with OoT. TW3 was the best game I have played in years.
do u ever shut up about the witcher 3
ikr

like flee with quake

I've purposely avoided all trailers except the reveal and namedrop trailers for BOTW so my excitement level is about 10%. Being careful not to get overhyped.
Normally, I'm the same way, but this time, I've actually taken to absorbing as much information about the game as possible. Skyward Sword was painfully disappointing, and it's been sixteen years since I've experienced genuine amazement with a game, so I'm just super thirsty.

Needless to say, Wind Waker is my favorite too. I've talked about this a lot, but it's one of only three games I've ever felt deserved a perfect 10/10. It just rocks my socks.

I actually just finished Oracle of Ages today, which inspired me to make the thread in the first place. Excellent game--I'd place it in my top 5 Zeldas for sure. That being, WW > MM > LttP > Zelda 2 > OoA. I'll play Seasons next, of course.

Competitive games just aren't your taste, it seems. There's nothing you can really do about that. I get pretty salty when I lose ten straight games after practicing for hours, but I have a drive to improve and become a competent player--so that keeps me going.

You have to have a hunger--not just to win, but to be the best. Whether it's best on your block or best in the world. You also have to be very patient and realize that your lofty aspirations are months if not years away. You don't really seem to have a hunger for any of that--you just wanna have fun playing games, right?
It's kinda funny you mention the hunger and drive to be the best. Whenever I'm playing RL with my buddies if we're not playing ranked for whatever reason I'll be secretly (or openly) wanting to play ranked instead. Whenever someone asks why I need to play ranked I'll word it almost exactly the way you did. The thrill of beating a foe in a pressure game is just so satisfying.
exactly

even if you lose, the idea of being able to look back to that game and say, "that was a great match, we both performed very well" is highly cathartic--and the knowledge that the loss only made you a wiser player should excite and invigorate you

basically you have to find the fun in losing, or "hold that L" as the cool kids say

I'm interested to hear what level of math has been competed by those who say 4 is greater, and vice versa.
It really doesn't matter. This is a matter of logic, not math.

The problem with your syllogism above is that you correlated  1.3 ̅ with 4/3, which is false.
They are exactly the same.
No, they aren't. .3 ̅ will never be able to go on long enough to become a perfect third.
isn't it just an abstract concept anyway

don't we come up with these abstract concepts for our convenience

are you not undermining that by questioning a hypothetical number's properties

Serious / Re: Which quantity is greatest?

No, it will always be infinitely less than than the number of decimal places needed, because you can't express 1/3 as a number. No matter how far you measure it, the "decimal form" (which shouldn't exist) of 1/3 will ALWAYS be less than the expression. You could go on eternally, for all of time and then some, and it would never, ever, ever be 1/3.
but wouldn't that only apply if you stopped counting decimals at any point

which you can't do if we're talking about an endless repeating decimal
Quote
Look, this isn't hard. All I'm saying is that the decimal form of 1/3 (or any repeating numbers) don't exist in the physical world because the more you measured it, the bigger it would get. Look at conservation of matter to see why that's impossible.
is it getting "bigger" or do we just have a more precise measurement

when we express 3/10 as .3, we assume that the following decimal points are all 0, right

but in the real world, it could be 0.30000010000000100000200001

we don't really account for small imperfections because they're not significant enough
Quote
If what you're stuck on is the "gets bigger" part (really?), then just look at how a repeating number works. The more you measure it (.333 vs .333333), the larger it becomes.
i understand what you mean now--you were just being insanely inarticulate

i believe what you're attempting to describe is called an asymptote

Serious / Re: Which quantity is greatest?

The point is that the difference between 1/3 and .3 repeating is so insignificantly small that they might as well be equal in applied mathematics.
no, i thought the point was that there was literally no difference

not even a small one

they're identical numbers

Serious / Re: Which quantity is greatest?
« on: February 06, 2017, 03:16:29 PM »
EVEN IF IT WAS ENDLESS, it does not equal 1/3. It will always have infinitely less decimal places than it needs to be 1/3.
won't there always be the precise number of decimal places needed

because it's endless
Quote
If you need clarification to the second paragraph, I don't know what to tell you.
oh good, because i do

you tell me, "sorry for typing a sentence that reads like it was written by a 9 year old," and then you clarify

11069
Serious / Re: Which quantity is greatest?
« on: February 06, 2017, 03:09:47 PM »
You can't turn that expression into a number (no matter how much humans like numerical organization) because the decimal would go on endlessly and would never truly equal 1/3.
but that's why we have nifty symbols like ∞ to represent infinity

the decimal doesn't need to go on endlessly for us to understand that it's endless
Quote
You can't have .3 ̅ of an apple, because the more you measured them, the bigger each third would magically get
what
