The Flood / Re: Do you have any "unpopular opinions"?
« on: February 20, 2015, 08:17:13 AM »
Just seem like the two most important and efficacious endeavours for a supranational union to pursue if you're going to have one.
Which is why I don't see why they should be shaved back. Above all else, these are areas in which the EU can excel.

The structure of the E.U. (commission; parliament; et cetera) is largely disturbing and disrespectful of national sovereignty.
Agreed, although there are safeguards in place to protection national interests and the will of the people. For example, the EU Parliament is directly elected, the Council is made up of representatives of the member states, the Commission has only executive or delegated powers (other than proposing legislation)...

But on top of that, the ECJ interprets the Treaties (which provide for the principles of subsidiarity and member state autonomy) and can be called upon to evaluate pretty much any EU decision.

Not saying it's perfect, but especially over the last few years, there has been a slow shift of focus to protect the member states' interests more on the judicial level.

The problem with economic unions is that they almost always become protectionist and lead to overbearing economic integration.
That's true.

When the EU shaves back its jurisdiction to things like defence and the protection of human rights, I'll support it.
Why those two? I fully support the way the Union deals with protection of human rights, and its powers are already rather limited in the field of CFSP (Common Foreign and Security Policy).

The European Union is good.
Seconded.
Fuck the both of you. The only thing it's been good for is presenting a united front against Russia.
Human rights protection, increased cooperation and open borders are pretty good things, imo.
None of which need a monetary-cum-political union to accomplish. The European Central Bank has cast Europe's economy into the toilet.
I'm not saying I fully support the EU financial side, but a supranational institution such as the Union was definitely needed to accomplish what we have now.

I'm guessing you guys rather have me shitpost than post car pictures and talk to das and BC
Nope, we'd rather have you post pictures in moderation and talk to Das and BC, which is exactly what you've been doing on this page. Thanks for that.

I haven't used Steam in years. I tried searching for you but got thousands of people with the name Flee.

It says I can't add friends without buying a game.
Then PM me your Steam ID.

The Flood / Re: Watch this kid's life come crashing down
« on: February 19, 2015, 05:47:20 PM »
Either way, sucks for the kid. I must admit that I feel bad for him and that he doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. People doing this to others are plain assholes bullying little kids.

However, my empathy for him is severely diminshed by the fact that he was looking to abuse a glitch to cheat the game and level up his character illegitimately, and that he was naive enough to turn on Play Share for a complete stranger on the internet despite all the warnings. Seriously, this is the equivalent of "give me your password and all your belongings, I will hack and multiply them all for you", which is a scam even 10 year old me wouldn't fall for back in the days of Runescape.

Ooh.

People who are prejudiced against, or discriminatory towards, paedophiles are no better than homophobes.
So much this to the point where I have yet to be able to make an augment for fair treatment and better mental care of non-offending pedophiles without being accused of being one myself...
Your fondness of all things loli doesn't really help your case though.

FEAR isn't scary at all IMO. In fact it's one of those few games where you start feeling like such a bada$$ that you actually start feeling sorry for your enemies [especially given the AI/combat dialogue]. And Alien Isolation was pretty damn great too [my GOTY 2014].

I agree with your point wholeheartedly though.
I still have to play that one.

"Children and Child-Like characters".
This. Does it look like a child portrayed in an explicit, erotic or sexual way? If the answer is yes, it's not allowed.

This isn't an excuse to spam, people.
this isn't spam

I can show you an example of spam if you need help identifying spam
Posting over 25 pictures without anything to go with them over the span of just 2 pages counts as spam.
the cars speak for themselves
Then explain to me how this is any different from "post dozens of anime pictures in this thread".
because quite a few of the cars in this thread actually spur tasteful discussion, just not a drastic amount because of the low population of car enthusiasts on this site

this is basically the only post pics and talk about cars thread here
The problem doesn't lie with a thread to talk about cars and share pictures. It's when a single poster makes up half the entire thread that it becomes spam. As Psy said, you can always put more than one picture in a post and spoiler it.
