I thought it was pretty good, one of the few good single player only shooters out there
So that's two votes in favor already.

The New Order has no multiplayer so...good luck.
Yeah, I know. Single player doesn't look bad though.
I've seen Let's Plays of it and its actually a really good story.
That's a plus, thanks.

I just stopped by a game store on my way and saw the special edition on sale for like 18$. Should I go buy it? I loved ET and RTCW, but that was mainly for the multiplayer.

I'm relying on you Flood, don't let me down.

Fuckin' yorkie

I'm friends with yorkie on facebook.

Sometimes he creeps out of the mists to like my posts only to disappear.
Does he sign his Facebook posts with Yorkie as well?

He does. By the Allfather, he does.
Praise Allah, this is truly magnificent.

I've noticed this weird UI glitch where there's still Weeb shit all over the place.
Like in the profile pictures of certain members, you mean? I'm experiencing the same glitch, I think.

That's exactly it mate.
Banning these infected users seems to work, but it might be considered Modabuse.

but I'm dreading how everything with my grandfather is going to go down.
Thinking about the what-ifs, even after the fact, can get to the best of us. Just focus on managing the situation on your end, man, your grandpa sounds like a strong guy and your grandma will probably hold up better than you expect even if she practically breaks down after he goes. People pretty much always overcome adversity like this, it's just a fact of life.

I'm sure these are mostly words on a screen, since I can't possibly establish any emotional connectivity on a forum, but honestly the main thing to try and do is just be honest with yourself about the situation and not think about how it could've played out different.
Yeah, I know. Not much (or anything) I could've done to change this. Just trying to support him as much as possible and now give him the opportunity to say goodbye to my girlfriend. He's quite fond of her.

There's only so much you can do with therapy though.
Says who?
Every decent therapist ever? There's a reason why they can prescribe drugs and certain types of treatment. Talking can do a lot of good. But there's certain things that just talking can't fix.
I'm not necessarily saying fix. Very rarely do psychiatrists completely cure an individual of mental illness. Mitigate however? Entirely possible. The fact that was never even considered is peculiar.
What makes you say it was never considered? He was diagnosed with GID by multiple psychiatrists at age 7 and didn't start the hormone blockers until puberty was about to start at age 11. I'd say it's rather likely he still saw psychiatrists to deal with his situation during those 4 years.

I use adblock, so...
Why?

Because ads annoy me.
There's a tiny space for an ad banner that shows up 1 out of all 10 times you refresh a page. It's hardly intrusive or obnoxious in any way. I'm not a fan of ads myself, but it's hardly even noticeable and keeps this site alive, so I see no reason not to disable my adblock for this site.

How do ads keep the site alive?
Yes, this isn't some free proboards forum. Cheat is paying for the upkeep, server costs and certain plug-ins (like the notifications one). By putting up ads, the revenue helps cover these costs.

And ads are the best way to pay for these, huh?
It's a single, small add at the top of the screen that shows up 1/10th of the times. It divides the costs over all members (that don't have to pay a dime) and avoids us having to rely on donations / subscription fees and such.

I would rather a sub fee, honestly.
That would effectively kill the site.

That's gonna be a lot harder when my girlfriend gets here though.
I honestly wish you the best of luck, man.
It's a strange feeling. I'm looking forward to seeing her again, but I'm dreading how everything with my grandfather is going to go down. Thanks though. I appreciate it.

Fucking hell, man. You holding up all right? How's your grandpa taken it?
My grandfather's been a doctor all his life. He's been around these situations enough to be rational about it. He's strong. So is my grandmother for now, although we fear that she might crash when he does pass away.

I've been alright, I guess. I've been visiting them a lot more often and have been trying not to think about it too much. That's gonna be a lot harder when my girlfriend gets here though.

Srsly? Do you even spoiler?

How can I take good screenshots on pc? I'm playing on fucking ultra and it looks great but the screenshots suck weeb dick
A lot of games have a built-in screenshot feature that gives better results.

Just over a week ago, my grandfather was diagnosed with a very rare cancer in the final stage. I can't think of the name, but there's basically tumors growing everywhere in his body (behind the eyes, brain, brain stem, lung, heart muscle, throat...). Only one in a million of all cancer cases are like this. The doctors gave him another month or two at most. Strange feeling, as I've never really lost a close relative before. My girlfriend's rushing over as soon as possible to say her goodbyes and such.

I wasn't planning on posting much about it on the flood, but this thread is a pretty good occasion, I suppose.

Ad revenue

Websites don't run on good will you know

So running the site requires them to pay an occasional fee?
Pretty sure it's a monthly amount for upkeep and server host costs.
