OP must reach 1000 post be Sunday or be banned.
996 Posts in six days? Should be possible.

And I thought you were feeling pretty positive about it at first?

Will watch the video when I get home from class.

Yeah, about that..
You can still set things right if you start now. Double time, of course.

And it turns out that healing is back in PVP. Both sides can use blood vials during the fight. And seeing how they take only a fraction of a second to use, all PVP footage that I've seen so far had people using them like there's no tomorrow. This brings back bad memories of Demon Souls.

They are thinking of a combination of human error and a mechanical issue.
There's a reddit post about the flight path. Apparently it reached 38,000 feet, then steadily descended, indicating the pilots had no control over the plane on the way down.
Still doesn't explain everything though. There was a specialist / pilot on the news segment and he brought up that if they had absolutely no control over the plane, it's not likely it would've made this kind of smooth descent before leveling out near the end. The reason people are suspecting some sort of human error is that because a complete loss of control seems so unlikely, the pilot could've easily changed his course to fly over the sea and attempt an emergency landing there, rather than flying straight into the mountains.

The whole thing took an entire 10 minutes, which is a very long time in terms of aerial emergencies. There's no explanation for the lack of communication with the ground or distress signals, and the plane had just received a check up the day before. While possible, the scenario that pretty much the entire plane and radio comms included became completely unoperable out of nowhere is so unlikely that some kind of human error or behavior is suspected.

Either way, we'll know more tomorrow when the black box gets examined.

Like others have pointed out, it's a (completely optional) board that opens up once every month and has only a bare minimum of rules. You can post anonymously, post porn and other NSFW material, make threads calling out other users and so forth.

Update from just watching the TV report:

Rescue actions are in progress, a lot of firefighters and rescue workers have been deployed by helicopter in the area of the crash.

The first black box of the airplane has been recovered and the site has been secured, but unfortunately no survivors have been found.

The previous report that the airplane sent out a mayday signal has been recalled.

According to the specialists, there's no reason to believe that this was intentional or related to terrorism. They are thinking of a combination of human error and a mechanical issue.

Jesus Christ.

Do we have any idea what went wrong?
Not yet. We should once they recover the aircraft's computers and publish a report.

Given the rapid descent from cruise altitude and everyone saying there's likely no survivors, my money is on a mechanical (non engine related) or o2 systems failure. The former putting the aircraft into an uncontrolled descent and the later giving the pilots hypoxia. Pilots do crazy stuff when they don't have oxygen.

Who knows, maybe they Allah Snackbarred themselves too. But anyways, I think its not a good idea for one of the police officials to outright say no need for rescue operations - even if there's a slim chance for survivors, you should take that chance.
There are rescue operations, the work is just hazardous and slow because the plane crashed in one of the least accessible areas of the Alps.

So why did they say this?

"There is no need for any rescue operations, everyone is dead," said a police officer in the town of Le Vernet, near the crash site, according to the AFP news agency.
Looks like it's still pretty vague then, because the article and other sources also read things like "French TV reported that 240 local firefighters and three police squadrons were mobilised for the rescue effort."

Also not sure how I feel about the environments. Bosses, enemies and setpieces all look great, but everything I've seen so far takes place in these decrepit and dark areas. Not saying they don't look great or that I don't like the feel of them, but it seems pretty lackluster compared to DS1 and 2.

I don't think we have many mainland Europoors, Flee, Isara, and the three or four Scandis come to mind, and I can't think of any Germans. The closest we have is Flee, but he doesn't hail Merkel like a true proud white national would.

Just a mutual dislike?
I'd say that "dislike" is a little strong. It's just not my thing and I find the art style and tropes generally off putting, hence why I haven't watched more than a few episodes of any anime since DBZ and Pokemon when I was 10.

inb4 bongs get butthurt about muh exceptionalism. There's nothing wrong with recognizing that the USA is more powerful than any other nation.
Well no shit, the USA is a superpower but that doesn't change the fact that large swathes of the population are ill informed courtesy of what passes for News in the states.
I also never understood this whole obsession with "power". What is this, some petty fight in a kid's classroom to see whose dad is the biggest and strongest?

Given the choice between living in either the country with the biggest military and economy, or the one with superior health care, education, political system, legal system, progressive nature, degree of secularism, general informedness of inhabitants, state of the media, culture and so forth? I'd gladly settle for the smallest country in the world with a standing military of 5 soldiers if the latter was the case.

« on: March 24, 2015, 09:17:50 AM »
Illusion of freedom of mobility. The most recent game I encountered this in was Tomb Raider. I don't mind it when games give you a ton of freedom and let you climb or go wherever. I also don't really mind when games are pretty restrictive and force you in a certain direction or area while making it clear that you're not supposed to stray of the path. But what I do kind of mind is when you have a game that focuses so much on climbing / mobility / mantling / vaulting / adventuring and has you scale icy cliffs in the middle of a snow storm like it's no one's business, only to then stop you from stepping over a waist-high fence because you're supposed to solve a puzzle a certain way instead of putting some more creativity to work? That's bullshit.

-No
You can press the "quote" button underneath someone's post to address them directly and send them a notification of your response, by the way.

And it's good that you answered no to the second question. You and I can be good friends, one day.

So you hate anime too?
Nah, I don't hate anime.
