Let's play nice now, people.
Shut up Flee. You don't got no authority here in Freedom country.
I enjoy and exert absolute authority over all residents and visitors of the sovereign state of Septagonia.

gay marriage having unknowable impacts on it.
If only we could look at several comparable Western first world countries where gay marriage has been legal for 15 years.
a) that was a paraphrase, im thinking his main argument was more articulate and number-y b) "if his thoughts have changed on gay marriage id like him more."
I didn't mean that to address your opinion, just pointing out that he's a moron if he's relying on that argument.

You guys do me proud. Just got back from a pretty long day of classes and library action, so I'm not really feeling like writing something right now, but maybe later.

Dice roll instead of accurate bullet physics already killed this game for me.
I thought they specifically said it was NOT dice rolls?
Just going by what's in the OP.
debunked
On the action side of things, Polfeldt calls The Division a “light shooter,” an RPG that makes you “work for it” without the inconvenience of under-the-hood die rolls shattering the trademark Clancy realism. Well then you have some talking to do with the OP, seeing how he cites an article (that appeared after yours, by the way) that literally says "The Division isn't selling itself as a hybrid, and Massive is planting its feet firmly on the side of the dice roll."
which COULD mean dice rolls instead of accurate bullet physics. "
nowhere in that article does it say that bullet physics is dictated by dice roll, where as mine the game dev was specifically talking about the shooting mechanics and breaking realism...
Watch any of the gameplay. All bullets hit and do damage
dice rolls would be for crit chance or loot drops or other RPG mechanics or skills with "x% chance to..."
I can link a reddit AMA where a dev says because it's a shooter the combat is skill based but it will take a minute to dig up and if you'll just ignore it it's not worth it
I'm not sure why you're arguing this with me. I have absolutely no interest in this game and would not even consider getting it, nor have I kept up with its development or any new information being released. I'm simply pointing out that there's an article in the OP where the main creative director of the game literally says that "Sure, we have a shooting mechanic, but it's really the smart use of skills and the ability to level up and find new paths through the trees to optimise your character...", along with the article stating that they are "firmly planting their feet on the side of the dice roll". This is a discussion you should be having with the OP making that statement, not someone who's just skimming through the thread with little to no interest in the game.

Dat Liberal logic...
Your first reaction when reading about an islamic extremist whose daughter joined IS and who is known for burning the American flag while shouting "Burn USA" and "the Islam will conquer America" comes down to "lol liberal morons, amirite?!" Some of your posts legitimately make me want to cry.

As if that doesn't already exist, and kids aren't already exposed to that. Big difference between a small and relatively unknown movie simply existing and being wrecked to pieces by both critics and people who are actually informed on politics and history, and this movie being shown at school several times during your education by authority figures who are basically telling you that everything in the movie is the truth. I wouldn't care. I'm actually capable of making up my own mind. I think you're massively underselling the extent of conversation and discussion among intelligent people, and overselling the power of a movie to influence the way people think. And I think you are massively underselling the effect this could have on a lot of people. Yes, you and I are intelligent enough to know that this is bullshit and to make up our own minds and know better. But that doesn't mean that this goes for everyone. In fact, judging by the large amount of uninformed morons who will take everything for granted without even giving it a second thought (for example, the increasingly radical SJW / feminist / extreme leftist crowd that is often complained about), I'd wager that a majority wouldn't be as critical and informed as you. So in the end, while you will sit there realizing that this is biased BS and that you know far better, a very large amount of people won't. And those people get to vote too. I'm surprised that you think this way, because I wouldn't have as much faith in your fellow young countrymen to see past the bias and lies when the government makes it mandatory for every student to view an indoctrinating piece of pro-feminist / EU / muslim / large government propaganda each year.

First it's a crappy movie about America. Then it's furry porn. Then anime. Then MLP. Where does the madness end?
We should just start with MLP. The younger they are, the better it'll stick. It might stop them from ever wanting to become weebs too.

This would be funny if it weren't so sad. Country of the free indeed.
Having kids see a conservative movie is now a violation of their freedom?
They're seeing a movie with a certain slant on American history, not attending the Two Minutes Hate.
Have you seen this movie? The fact that it's a terrible movie completely aside, calling it a "conservative movie" is quite the understatement. The entire movie has been critiqued for being a massive straw man, a piece of propaganda with the sole purpose of casually ignoring any sort of critical thinking and providing a staggering display of twisting facts. It is a populist appeal to emotion that has no place in an educational program without there being a proper counterweight. For comparison's sake, would you have the same reaction if this was a pro EU film? Would you still hold the same opinion if UK lawmakers made it mandatory for every British student to attend the bi-yearly showing of a 2 hour long propaganda piece praising the Union's greatness and impeccable track record, while blatantly covering up any downsides and promoting a series of twisted and biased "facts" in the hopes of creating a new generation of a pro-EU crowd that is completely blind to any of its flaws and shortcomings? I don't know about you, but I feel that making something like this mandatory has an air of indoctrination and totalitarianism surrounding it. It would be different if this was counterbalanced by different movies or if this was used to incite critical thinking and debate, but this is simply "no questions asked, you are forced to see this movie several times before you graduate so we can fill your head with an extremely one-sided and biased rhetoric to fuel your sense of patriotism and blindness to our flaws, all while being firmly shoved in the direction of the political party that we support".
