The one piece of advice you should really give him is to drop the persona and stop trying to make his "thing" happen. The talking in third person ("it's yo boooyy Clutch Gamer", "yo boy was really going off last game, merking noobs"), the random and kind of forced insults at the start ("what is up you cambodian hobo-huggers", "you egyptian STD-lovers") and so on. It all comes across as very fake and forced. You also should let him know that this isn't for everyone. The youtube gaming / MLG scene is so over saturated that there are literally thousands of people just like him. Only a very select few actually manage to go big. And while your friend seems like a legitimately nice guy and I admire his dedication, he isn't that good of a player and doesn't really stand out with his commentary and gameplay. It's great to have dreams, but I hope he knows that there's a very real chance this one won't come true.

The mistake you're making is thinking that those contemporary "college communists" are looking for another red revolution. There's an actual communist political party in the country and several of my friends (who are in or just out of college) are such communists, and none of them would want another communist revolution. They support its ideals and want to make some of them more of a part of our society and political landscape, but you're wrong in thinking that they'd support another stalinist revolution and regime.

Happened back in Feb, dude.
I was traveling and visiting the USA in February, so my relative absense then kind of explains how I managed to miss this.  Congrats though.
