Yeah, put like 5 hours into it so far. Alright game, but the gameplay is keeping me from really enjoying it.

It's under 0.4, so it's being rounded down.
This is my home to a server in London, so it's not exactly a professional LAN event.
Even in the case of a LAN event, they're just rounding up instead of showing the actual figure.
Of course, I'm just surprised how two people linked with fibre in the same room ends up as 2-3 ms ping for events like Quakecon and CS:GO tournaments, while you're at <0.4 at 50 miles away. Doesn't seem to make much sense that you're getting better response times than they are, unless speedtest calculates / displays its ping differently than most games do.

Sell the disk separate from the case.

$60 = The game disk
$20 = The case
$20 = Story mode as on disk DLC
What is this? 1992?
People still buy discs?
Why do you keep posting this?
I'll stop posting it when people stop buying discs.

Is that bugged? Having a 0ms ping is pretty much impossible.
I'm on fibre, I'm less than 50 miles from the server.
Photons travel at the speed of light.
It's not exactly 0, it's just somewhere below 1, but above 0ms.
I can do the maths later on if you're really interested.
No, I understand the math. Just rather confused by how the rounding here works, as even on professional gaming LAN events using fibre with two people sitting right next to each other, they still generally get a ping of 1-2.

It's a lot better than it used to be, that's for sure. Usually go to bed around 1-2am, up at 8-9. It changes quite often though. Being in a long distance relationship with someone living in the US (8 hour time difference) means I sometimes have to make sacrifices so that we can still call and talk.

Yes. It's one of my favourite games.
As an Assassin's Creed game it's pretty weak (the assassin story isn't focused on very much), but as an overall game it's bloody brilliant.
What do you like so much about it?
The characters
The way the characters act and interact
The naval combat (taking on a lot of ships and the legendary ships was a lot of fun)
The game world
Great looking environments
Sailing across a huge open sea and listening to the shanties
What about the gameplay? It's my major complaint so far.
The Arkham-esque gameplay?
Meh. It works, but ehh... AC3 & 4 really went with the super simple combat. It's not bad, but it could do with some depth. The main meat of the game is at sea anyway.
Despite AC Unity being a mess, the combat was at least a bit of a step forward and removed the chain kills for cool mechanic and yu couldn't just run into a bunch of enemies without getting hurt.
The gameplay has always been my main complaint with the AC series. I really can't stand how simplified it all feels, and even then it isn't always perfect. I'd write down some of the things I don't like, but it would derail the thread too much. You're right ont he environments and setting though. Really nicely done.

I can see this have some pretty negative consequences. Might have been better to just give paid publishing rights to modders who have proven themselves and are significant / skilled contributors. I could see this resulting in a ton of people with little to no skills flooding the marketplace with poorly done mods just because they can't resist the "omg I might get money" factor.

If it makes you feel any better, 2 of my classes required that I write 1500 word papers at one point, and now they're making me write 1000 word summaries of those 1500 word papers.  Like...that's just the essay without some extra fluff...just read the original fucking paper.
Wut. That sounds so pointless.

Nah. Not my type of movie and reviews are confirming exactly what I already feared / expected. Might torrent it in a few months, but I can't say I care much.

All the reviews were positive tho
Two major Belgian outlets rated the movie a 0.5 and 1.5 out of 5 stars, going as far as calling the movie "a terrible failure, an overwhelming disappointment and the coldest movie shower of the year so far." They criticized the heavily convoluted plot, overly chaotic action scenes, boring bad guys, predictability and lacking verbal interaction between the cast. That Whedon's talent as a director, clearly shown by Serenity, Firefly and Cabin in the Woods, fell victim to the "Ridley Scott-disease", as in the abandoning of talented simplicity for CGI and impersonal action. Too much action becomes boring and gets in the way of any involvement you feel.

While they praised certain scenes / dialogue, and were impressed by the surprisingly philosophical themes (the desirability of world peace, for example), neither deemed the movie even remotely worth watching for anyone but die-hard comic fans inclined to throw money at anything with a Marvel logo on it.

Spoiler
Before the inevitable shitstorm ensues: I have not seen the movie and this is not necessarily my opinion, even though I can definitely see this being correct. Just showing that the reviews have not all been amazing.

So?

You do realize that a couple bad reviews, especially from some shit Belgium source no one ever heard of, doesn't mean that all the reviews are bad right?
Not sure if trolling or just bad reading comprehension. I never claimed that all reviews are bad. You, on the contrary, claimed that all reviews were positive. I simply showed you otherwise.

And like I said, the one outlet had its review done by a judge at the Cannes film festival, which is pretty much the most important movie event in the world. Hardly a shit source, especially when compared to others like IGN and "popular" outlets that shill for every blockbuster or pop culture movie.

Belgium isn't relevant though
One of the critics is a judge at Cannes, so I'm gonna go ahead and give him so credit for that. I'm also more inclined to listen to reviewers that don't praise any popular blockbuster and are potentially biased towards Marvel because of the comics. I personally think that's a major problem. People who are massive fans of something are more inclined to look past the flaws and give it a good review because it's a flashy and good looking flick about the super heroes they love so much.

"Who cares if it's predictable, convoluted and lacking in several departments? Despite the fact that it's a mediocre movie at best, we get to see Iron Man make witty jokes and use his new suit to fight the Hulk, and the Avengers fight Ultron in a final 30 minute long action sequence referencing the upcoming movie with this amazing bad guy in it! 9/10, would watch again."

As someone who's never been much of a comic book fan, I'm more inclined to take a more objective reviewer's opinion than someone who grew up adoring the Avengers and will now be satsified with the movie as long as it shows enough action.

I'm not going to talk shit about a movie I haven't seen and that could very well challenge my expectations, but I am gonna take a lot of reviews with a grain of salt.
You need a sense of humour
I take my movies seriously,

Also, did you say you really liked Assassin's Creed 4 somewhere back in Gaming? Just started playing it yesterday since it's free with Gold.

While not making any excuses for this, "Islamic banking" is a very real thing in Arabic culture. It's a banking system based around honor and compassion that is a fundamental part of them doing business. One of its aspects is loans at a 0% interest rate, for example.

Obviously not saying that being a Muslim is a valid excuse to avoid interest, but she shouldn't just be called an idiot either. I could see that this might be a misunderstanding or something.

Pretty sure they can get into loans with interest, but Muslims aren't supposed to charge interest on what they loan out. Kind of like how it's not okay to murder someone, but saying you're Christian/Muslim/Jewish/etc. isn't an excuse to not get murdered...if that makes any sense.
Oh yeah, I know that they can enter into loans with interest. Just trying to make clear to some people that this might not be a person who's just calling on some arbitrary reason (in this case religion) to avoid having to pay interest. While it isn't an acceptable excuse, people seem to be treating this as if this was no different from a person saying "I shouldn't pay interest because I'm black / female / gay".

This person is clearly in the wrong and should definitely pay the full amount, but I don't think calling this person a complete idiot is appropriate here. Yes, it's a silly excuse, but she does come from a culture where loans with interest are pretty much taboo. It's not the same as calling on some arbitrary reason to be treated as a special snowflake.

$120 per what?
Month
Dude. What the fuck. For $15, I get a "free" month of 2GB of data, 5k texts and like 20 hours of calls (which I never use anyways). When the free month is over, everything I do deducts from that $15 of credit at like 4 cents per texts and 50 cents per 10mb of data. $15 pretty much gets me two months of everything I want.
