I'm alright, but stressed out and overworked. My job comes with a lot of responsibilities and people depending on me. Lots of deadlines and last minute tasks to do. Gotta go back to Greece next month and then London for work as well. Also under a lot of pressure to get my PhD grant and approval done.

They don't make it worse. You'll get some more cuts and scratches from it but that's still much better than hitting the ground at full speed. The foliage and branches are flexible and bend with you so that your momentum is broken and your speed decreased before you hit the ground. It's why there's people who have survived plane crashes or parachutes not opening by landing in or through trees and bushes.

I skimmed through some of his videos and he seems like a bit of a dick. Bad content too, if his "COD WW2 IS SJW TRASH" is anything to go by.

I just put in an application to cast (part of) the official Quake Open League starting in two weeks. It'll be a monthly online cup. Fingers crossed.

Anyone here following the OW League?
i would if every team comp wasnt exactly the fucking same besides 1 or 2 heroes.
Next stage might change things up with the balance adjustments and new hero. Still, I think there's enough diversity to keep things interesting. Plenty of different picks to go around imo. The meta is pretty clear at this point and the most common comp is definitely Genji / Tracer, Winston / DVA and Zen / Mercy, but there's enough variations of that going around. For DPS, Junkrat / Widow / Sombra all see pretty frequent use as well. And on certain maps, Pharah and McCree get picked pretty often too. For Tank, Orisa and Roadhog are also played often enough and Lucio / Moira (sometimes Ana too) get picked a decent bit. And the others are really just situational and map specific. For example, we don't see many Zarya's right now but she was picked all the time on the last stage because the maps fit her better. The only heroes that aren't picked are Torbjorn and Symmetra. Doomfist, Rhein, Hanzo, Bastion and Reaper are all rare but have made some appearances here and there. Pick and dive is just the current meta, so you'll see Winston / Dva / Tracer picked 90% of the time, but imo there's enough room to keep it interesting.

Still can't stand Hanzo though, fuck that.
Nobody does. He's even broken as fuck in Heroes of the Storm.
At least they've announced they're going to change him up quite a bit. In my opinion, he's just not fun to play as or play against. The few times I've played as Hanzo, many of the kills I got felt cheap and undeserved. When you play against him, every confrontation feels like a dumb gamble. The majority of times you kill him with ease as he misses and does 0 damage. But then there's the other 30% of engagements where he lands a lucky hit by spamming of arrows with hitboxes the size of a tree that register as a headshot if they connect anywhere around the chest, or a random scattershot shot vaguely at the direction of your feet dealing 400 instant damage with a lucky bounce of the arrows. That said, there's obviously some great Hanzo players out there and he takes a ton of skill to be used at the higher levels, but overall he's just such a coin flip of a character that feels cheap to play as and completely random to play against.

How does this make you feel? Many people already suspected this for a while (Invictus the movie has a good scene about this too), but his lawyer has admitted that Jones is just pretending and is merely playing a role.
His ex-wife says he believes all that stuff he is talking about.
Of course she does. She's the one his lawyer delivered that statement to in the custody battle. The more she presents him as an unstable raging nutjob, the more she can get out of the court proceedings. She wants the kids so it's a given that she's not going to say that it's all an act and that he doesn't actually believe the things he says. She'll paint him as crazy and unstable as possible because that increases her odds of getting custody. Of course, you can say the exact same thing about Jones and his lawyer too.

don't get me wrong, I have very little respect for academic convention
Oh don't get me started on that shit. Nothing like being up until 2am because the editor has remarks about the style before publishing. Thankfully most good journals have people who do just that for you. And many of the common styles in non-contintental journals look absolutely horrendous too. MLA, APA, CMS? Ugh, what is up with the double-spacing, large borders and lack of structuring with headlines.
You can say that again
Of course, allow me to rephrase. Please, do not get me going on this crap. There is no experience quite like being up until 2 in the morning because the editor commented on the style before going to press. Fortunately the majority of high quality journals have staff doing on your behalf. Also, a sizable portion of the popular styles in non-continental papers are horrible to look at. MLA, APA, CMS? Ew, makes you wonder why people like the double-spacing, large borders and lack of structuring with headlines.

As others have said, you're never going to come across someone who is 100% non partisan. People are always going to have their ideological convictions regardless of how miniscule they may be.
That being said, Kraut and Tea comes across as a so called skeptic™ that isn't bandwagoning the alt right anti SJW brigade even though he is techinally opposed to what SJWs advocate. He's called out Yiannopoulous and Molyneux for their patently obvious bullshit and has been an avid critic of the /Pol/e smokers.
Oh I know. I'm not looking for someone who's completely non-partisan. We all have are our biases and preconceptions. I'm just browsing for someone who at least seems honest and generally interested in fairness, balance and some nuance. Most of these political commentators who present themselves as rational, factual and interested in the actual truth are pretty much the opposite and are extremely selective in how they cover things and what conclusions they (want to) draw. The Kraut guy you suggested doesn't seem to be active anymore though.

Does liking bobs and vegans count as degeneracy?
Depends. Is the cloth open or closed?
open. of course.
haha, bed joke.
Just as I suspected, you're definitely a sexual degenerate. Let me guess, you regularly harass white girls on Facebook and tell them they're a bitch lasagna if they don't send nudes?

As for a recommendation, I like Tim Pool's channel. He covers news events and does commentary. He tries to stay pretty neutral, sometimes to a slight fault imo, but still covers issues he feels are important so there's still some bias there. He does a pretty good job of disclaiming that though.
Thanks, I'll check him out though I definitely see what you mean about the bias. His narrative is very one-sided and seems to mainly consist of resisting the mainstream and social media, giving credence to controversial right-wing personalities, opposing anti-hate speech laws and "SJWs", and things like that. It's pretty obvious right away what his angle and intended audience is. The bias you mention becomes more clear in what aspects or angles of current events he chooses to cover (gun control, manipulation of people online). Definitely not a fan of the exaggerated clickbait titles either, but I'll look into his stuff some more. First impression is mixed.

heard the japanese girl from the first movie was killed off because the the second movie had some pretty heavy chinese involvement (financially) and it was done to make them happy. that's all i know about the second movie though.
Lol, that's pretty interesting. Not sure how plausible it is though. Her death is a pretty integral part of the story and opens up the next arc, and Japan is still prominently featured in the final parts of the movie. Still, with two Asian actresses in big roles it might have influenced who ended up the heroic one in this movie.

It was pretty much exactly what I expected from a movie about giant robots fighting giant aliens. It missed some of the unique atmosphere the first one had but it's not as if that one was such an amazing movie either. If the first one was a 7/10, this one was like a 5-6.

what the fuck is a skeptic channel
i'm not really sure either, but what comes to mind are people who post opinion piece videos about politically-charged subjects
paul joseph watson, blaire white, tj kirk, that sort of thing
Eh, kinda. In my opinion they're a particular group of the people you're referring to. The "skeptics" are the ones who usually present themselves as not really being tied to a political group or ideology but simply as logical, factual and rational about politics and current events. They're "skeptical" about everything, claim to care about facts over feelings, and appear to look beyond the narrative for the actual thruth through proper research and clear thinking. They're people like Sargon of Akkad (who apparently even has a video about the skeptic community), Styxenhammer, Vernaculis, Computing Forever, Molyneux... But from what I can tell, their skepticism seems to be applied selectively to push a pretty clear narrative without all that much scrutiny or nuance. Either way, you made me realize that just "skeptics" is too narrow of a group. I'm open to all of these "alt" channels challenging the mainstream and what they feel is regressive or emotional / unfactual views.

Are there any skeptic channels that are actually good? I've come across quite a few and they have almost all been little more than excuses for thinly veiled (and often pretty far) right wing personalities pushing a very clear narrative with very little actual skepticism but instead just a lot of slanted, misleading and cherrypicked points under the false pretense of being truthful/rational/logical/intellectual to demonize others (the progressives/leftists/SJWs/marxists/millenials/whatever/alloftheabove) and get their base riled up. So are there any out there that are actually worth watching and apply some academic rigor and nuance?

new york's violent crime has been plummeting since the 90s so im not sure why that city is being used as a metric for comparison here?
I mean, they're both capital cities and major metropoles with similar population counts in Western first world countries that both have seen declines in murder rates in the past few decades. As far as international comparisons of cities go, they're not that bad of a match.
