So I finally got my 3DS in the mail. So far I only have the Super Mario game for it, so I'm open to new suggestions. What do you guys think, and what should I get next?

And he's mostly pushing the same 3 buttons over and over again.
There's a lot more to it than that.
He does have a point, though. APM in SC is 80% useless or unnecessary actions simply to keep the fingers going. Not that this isn't something that everyone could just do, but this looks a lot more impressive than it really is.

Mass Effect

The litmus test for stupid. I can now disregard all further opinions you will spout.
Like I said, nothing against the setting, story and all that jazz. But the gameplay? Ugh. So confined, limited and boring. Linear room/corridor after linear room/corridor, take cover and use your abilities, same boring things over and over. I have tried my best to deal with it just to get through the game and story, but I couldn't force myself to stick with it because of the combat and general atmosphere that just turned me off.

Do people not like Borderlands because of its art style?
I love its artstyle.
I do too. The game isn't perfect, but it's great in most ways. Tons of replayability, great customisation, good gun play, very co-op oriented and has some great dialogue and voice acting. I guess the art style is just love it or hate it.

We all know the titans known as LoL, DOTA, SMITE, etc. MOBA's are well known in the world of Esports. However, can we call them a legitimate sport like Football, Baseball, Tennis, etc?
No because MOBA's are casual shits.

Spoiler
Seriously though, it doesn't matter if they are considered an actual sport. It's a fun and competitive activity with (sometimes) a high skill ceiling and a great degree of mastery that can be obtained. As long and people play and others are willing to watch, everything is fine.

have you actually read War and Peace?
Of course
You plebs probably didn't even read it with the original French parts included to reflect the cultural divide and Tolstoy's disdain from what he perceived an inferior and less genuine language than his native Russian one.

It really does annoy me actually. The only highlights are of Messi or Ronaldo (rightfully so I guess) making goals. One time they showed an MLS game but it was the sprinklers coming on mid-game, and then proceeded to laugh and show no in game highlights.
I don't know if you knew this already, but they usually play it on ESPN2.
I'm a massive soccer fan, I am well aware. Thanks though! Still, I mean, if Sportscenter covers all the horrible baseball highlights, why not a HIGHLIGHT OR TWO FROM YOUR OWN DOMESTIC LEAGUE, HUH?!

But it's filled with the same old American snobs who think it's too "European" and "boring".

They say as they get wet over baseball, golf, tennis, and poker.
Meh, I come from a very football minded country and think that football is a very boring sport. To each his own though.

Not hate, but just a strong dislike.

MOBA's - casual shills, terrible for esports.

Almost all JRPG's - too much weebery. I can't even into any of them. My girlfriend loves the Tales of (Vesperia) series and whenever I watch her play them I'm surprised by how unappealing it all looks.

Nintendo games - just really lost interest in almost all of them once I turned like 15. I'll play pokemon for a few hours on the airplane or something, but that's about it.

Destiny - not because it's an intrinsically bad game, but just because it embodies everything that went wrong with what used to be my favorite game developer.

Most Assassin's Creed games - tedious and repetitive gameplay with a combat system I can't stand (same goes for the Arkham Batman games)

Mass Effect - I had to force myself through the first one's gameplay because I liked the story. Never made it through the second one, and stopped a few missions into the third. Just don't like the feel and linear gameplay of it.

Serious / Re: EU could cock-block a British exit
« on: July 16, 2015, 04:22:52 PM »
No idea where this came from, but I'm almost entirely sure that this is complete bullshit. The state's right to withdraw has always been considered highly important in the Union. Article 50 TEU literally states that every member has the right to withdraw in accordance with its own constitutional requirements.

What this is more than likely referencing is the procedure of reaching the disapplication of the treaties, which requires a qualified majority in the Council and the approval of the European Parliament. However, if no consent on the details of the outcome is reached, the treaties are automatically disapplied after 24 months.

Tl;dr any member state can leave at any time, the only time the other countries and EU institutions come into play is to determine the details and practicalities of the country's departure, and if no consent is reached there they revert to the default solution after 2 years, which entails the removal of all treaty provisions for the leaving country.

Good job Canada. Still have yet to really visit the country.

And Challenger is kinda right, Prehistoric. Things are really expensive in Canada. That $3 might just be pocket change for a book, but extrapolate it and you're going to end up with huge numbers. A few dollars might not be that much at all, but when the product's price is only in the single digits, that's still like a 30% increase. I remember Sandtrap making a thread about how unfair he thought it all was. If he wanted to buy a new TV and an Xbox One to play the games he wanted, it would cost him a ton compared to what it would be in the US.

Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing and that a lot of it has to do with higher taxes and currency exchange, but Canada is a pretty expensive country to live in.
