Plays nothing like CoD.

Clambering, vaulting, groundpounding, even more sprinting, dodging and all that jazz makes it look like plays like CoD. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy it. Just saying it looks even more removed from the core gameplay I loved in Halo 1-3.

Sure, but it still looks pretty bad.

Would still play and probably enjoy, but game looks very meh from more than one perspective. Not a fan of where Halo seems to be heading.

This kind of makes me want to play Smash again.

Pretty sure it's supposed to be if you have it done medically. If it's natural or due to substance abuse, I think you're out of luck.

I don't think there's much anyone can say against this, but there are a few things that I don't entirely agree with.

Coming from a legal background, one of the most fundamental guarantees to a fair trial is an impartial judge. Many countries divide this impartiality in both an objective and subjective sense. "Justice must not only be done, it must also be seen to be done."

Of course, this isn't a court of law, but I feel that the same thing more or less applies to the ethical code of journalists. Sure, we don't know for sure the guy actually had his review influenced by his relationship, or that him knowing the girl actually made any difference whatsoever. But the fact that the likely possibility exists that his relationship somehow influenced the outcome of the review should be enough. I don't support the practice of harassment, but to ascribe this to nothing but a group of misogynist sexually frustrated neckbeards who got angry because a woman was actually making it in the gaming dev world? The personal attacks were unacceptable, but what happened deserved to be addressed and I wouldn't entirely blame that on sexism.

To be fair, part of that can be blamed on it reflecting the main demographic of gamers and it also being a safe choice. I'm not going to dig up my old post again, but you can subject a white straight male character to every imaginable form of abuse and put him through every possible storyline without being attacked over it. Using a different character brings forth a lot of risks.

The fact that so many games including women as playable characters is looked at as a "bonus" feature or something that the developers couldn't really spend time into is evidence of said problem.

Or maybe using a woman as a protagonist didn't fit the narrative they were going for. Especially for singleplayer games, demanding that developers include different genders and races really can put quite a strain on the development procedure.

I agree with your post, but those things did stand out to me.
