It's frustrating to see how these things are covered in much of the (social) media. Same as with net neutrality and all things similar, the stuff that gets thrown around and the way people act over it almost makes you lose support for the good side. So much exaggerated and flawed narratives pushed by people who couldn't even explain you how basic copyright works, who don't have the faintest clue about the workings of EU legislation and who haven't even read the proposed text but have still somehow become overnight experts in European intellectual property law and are piling onto anyone who offers a more factual and nuanced POV than "THE INTERNET IS LITERALLY GOING TO END". It's tiresome to participate in these discussions when you see the hundredth bandwagoner get thousands of upvotes for saying there's no longer any fair use protections because he's legally illiterate and doesn't understand even the very basics of this debate.
This is why referenda are so stupid.
Yeah, god forbid the plebs have an opinion.
If that opinion is immensely uneducated, poorly informed, misleading, detrimental to the actual discussion, misinforming thousands of people and ranging from largely inaccurate to factually incorrect then yeah, god please do forbid that from being shared around and muddying the debate with bullshit. A shit opinion remains just as shit whether it comes from a 1% aristocrat doctor or a highschool dropout making minimum wage. Me calling that out has nothing to do with the plebs and I don't at all look down on anyone who doesn't have the same skills or background that I have. It's perfectly fine for someone not to understand something as complex as this. I sure know there's plenty of issues that I only have a superficial understanding of - and there's nothing wrong with that. What I don't think is so fine is when someone who knows nothing of the topic, hasn't done basic research and has absolutely no understanding of what's going on takes to public forums to rile up hundreds if not thousands of people with blatant bullshit, lies and misinformation that gets shared over and over again. It's perfectly fine to get involved and have an opinion but a modicum of insight into your own abilities and expertise is a very valuable quality, especially when you're about to spread it to others. So yeah, absolutely 100% fuck people who do this shit. It's absurdly stupid and potentially damaging no matter your social standing.

Just gotta clear something up about net neutrality. The date of the FTC vote is not when the changes come into the effect. Net neutrality's repeal in the US didn't happen until just two weeks ago (June 11th).

Someone get Flee to shill for this so we may be enlightened
It's pretty dumb. Much of the media coverage has been sensationalist and exaggerated but it's definitely not a good proposal and I don't support it either. My institution is even on the list of prominent academic groups that signed an open letter of opposition against it. I hope Parliament guts it and have contacted my MEP to oppose it.

What is 1984 about? Power of propaganda? Communism? Mass surveillance?
WRONG If you read the book it's about nothing but a fat middle aged man repeatedly having sex with a 16 year old girl. The book goes into great detail into how and how often they conduct their sex life. Like shameless anime porn, but instead of scorn it's considered art
Weird how they always forget to adapt that part into the movies...
Where do you find this shit?
Umm he writes them himself, you dip. This is what you get when you swallow the red pill.

Anyone here following the OW League?
i would if every team comp wasnt exactly the fucking same besides 1 or 2 heroes.
Next stage might change things up with the balance adjustments and new hero. Still, I think there's enough diversity to keep things interesting. Plenty of different picks to go around imo. The meta is pretty clear at this point and the most common comp is definitely Genji / Tracer, Winston / DVA and Zen / Mercy, but there's enough variations of that going around. For DPS, Junkrat / Widow / Sombra all see pretty frequent use as well. And on certain maps, Pharah and McCree get picked pretty often too. For Tank, Orisa and Roadhog are also played often enough and Lucio / Moira (sometimes Ana too) get picked a decent bit. And the others are really just situational and map specific. For example, we don't see many Zarya's right now but she was picked all the time on the last stage because the maps fit her better.
The only heroes that aren't picked are Torbjorn and Symmetra. Doomfist, Rhein, Hanzo, Bastion and Reaper are all rare but have made some appearances here and there. Pick and dive is just the current meta, so you'll see Winston / Dva / Tracer picked 90% of the time, but imo there's enough room to keep it interesting.
i just cant really enjoy it. the meta is too hunkered down and there really isnt much to keep me interested. the reason i like watching competitive league is because theres bans that keep it diverse and new things that do happen to change the gameplay and champion picks. overwatch, yea, i can learn from the pros but watching the first several games when it started just kept me away from it, along with some of the pros being toxic in their own regards and being suspended or banned. though, league has its fair share of the same type of people. (meteos)
Just gonna revise my opinion real quick. I stand by what I said regarding the previous meta but the current state of the game is boring. I haven't really played in a while but watch OWL occasionally and they seriously dropped the ball with the latest balance changes. Variety has been more or less shelved by now. There's so much healing and protecting going on right now that DPS has almost become useless. Just about every single comp consists of Mercy + Zen + 3 tanks (Dva, Winston/Rein, Brigitte) and then a Widow because her charged headshots are the only thing still getting frags. Most DPS aren't capable of putting out enough damage to deal with the amount of bubbles, healing and shields dropped by the supports and the few that still can (Tracer, Genji...) are directly countered by Brigitte stun. You still see the occasional McCree, Hanzo or Junkrat pick on certain maps but the game is so support / healing focused right now that it's almost boring to watch.

Basically what Verb said. Respectful, thoughtful and inclusive behavior/language as to not shun people (or certain groups) from the conversation and to avoid overly emotional and hostile discourse. It's little more than common decency.

it's not as bad as master chief, i'll say that
but it's up there
I'm going to up vote all reddit threads about MC and DOOM in the game now. Time to hand out some gold as a kind stranger.

also, everyone knows what BFG stands for, it doesn't matter if they explain it or not
you can't have an implicit F-bomb in a nintendo game made for kids, they would never allow it
i wouldn't allow it either, i would find sakurai and drop kick him off a goddamn cliff if he actually did it
It's officially the Big Fragging Gun in original Doom before later being dubbed Big Freaking Gun and even Bio Force Gun in the movie. Plenty of ways to get around that. No
Besides, why even name it? "Doomslayer uses his ultimate weapon to unleash an enormous beam of argent energy" or something does the job as well.
because all final smashes have names, that's how it works
not calling it a BFG makes it look like they're avoiding calling it a BFG, which is just as bad because again, they're acknowledging an F-bomb
it's just a stupid fucking idea on every level
That's a bit of a weak retort. The BFG looks different in every installment. There's no reason they couldn't make a gun shooting some kind of laser while not calling it by name. I don't care about Doom in SSB and it's fine that you don't want him because it might not fit, but your BFG argument is just a poor one. Plenty of people wouldn't even know what it is.

So many people whining about women and stuff in these games. BF, AC, TLOU... Fucking hell, why is it that the people complaining about snowflakes are without fail even more so themselves?
Its forced as fuck and you only have to look at the dev responses to see that. Eitherway i dont share the same woes the majority seem to have, i want to see more females because it opens up new character types that you cant do with males.
As it is all these devs are seemingly including females to virtue signal which is just as embarrasing as complaining about the inclusion of females at all.
How is it forced and virtue signaling? Gaming continues to become more mainstream and appealing to more and more diverse people. I don't see what's forced about reflecting the natural changes in our society in the games we play.

I have seen a hundred times more people complain about SJW PC transgressions than it actually happening or affecting people in an undue way. I don't really see many issues with what you've said, like the Miss America stuff.

Plenty of good games being announced this E3. New Elder Scrolls and DOOM are major hype. Very excited for Rage 2 and Metro as well. Cyberpunk can be good if the combat is better than what they did with Witcher. Other than that, Wolfenstein, Just Cause 4, Halo Infinite, Shadows Die Twice, Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider are also looking good.

I think it's only playable for a week Mark, not that you'll keep it forever if you download it now. Still, come play with Banjo and me!
Well that what the announcement says
so I don`t know
Ah, fair enough. You're right. I guess that you can play it for a week and then stick to a 1 champion f2p model or something? Since they're still advertising the Champions pack, I guess you just don't get any champions unlocked. My bad!
