Yeah, I'm alright. Contrary to apparent popular belief, I don't actually live in Brussels. Just relatively close, as this happened around half an hour away from here. This is a very dark day.

Trump himself is far from dumb. He just deliberately appeals to those who are by providing the generally uneducated and ignorant with overly simplified, populist and often downright stupid "solutions" and hate, all thinly veiled under "wow he's not politically correct and ACTUALLY speaks his mind". He only knows what he's doing in the sense that he is very capable of exploiting the uneducated, bigoted and xenophobic.

He is empathetic, though, speaking directly to his supporters and in trying to understand the enemy.

That mindset is exactly what's wrong with the whole system and Trump's platform. Empathy, tolerance and support are reserved only and exclusively for those who look, think and act exactly the way the other far right and conservative crowd does. And as for everyone who doesn't? They are, in your exact words, "the enemy". Not just people who disagree or support other policies, but they're an enemy, an adversary that deserves no compassion or understanding. No looking for solutions, no compromises, no tolerance. It's us against them on all fronts, and the only possible outcome is for us to devastate them and force our beliefs on them, entirely regardless of things like human rights and basic common human decency. That is such an incredibly toxic and hostile mindset that such a thing alone should be enough for no person in the right mind to support Trump.

He sees things as here's a problem, here's how to fix it. He doesn't finagle with the with the little things. Just get in, get  it done, and move on. People expect him to have every detail all planned out, but that's not what you're going to get. He sets ambitious goals and then figures it out as he goes. 

Lunacy is the correct word to describe that. Trump does not just set ambitious goals. He sets absolutely unattainable and deliberately vague goals under the promise of "JUST TRUST ME OK I CAN DO THIS". Never mind that something is utterly impossible, that it's well beyond the powers of a president, that it violates numerous laws and treaties, that it infringes basic human rights, that it will hurt the economy and that it will destroy foreign relations and sovereignty of nations, as clearly illustrated by delusional visions of building a massive wall against all immigrants that will somehow be funded by a third world and extremely poor country. Just gotta trust a man who has said and done so many utterly idiotic things that it's hard to even take him seriously, has next to no political experience, acts like a wailing child and is a clear megalomaniac.

Trump is not stupid. He just runs on a program that is perfectly designed to exploit the fears, lack of education and misguidances of those who are and who'll cling to any candidate that seeks to improve the situation of their specific class by "shaking up the establishment" they feel has wronged them.

I just could never bring myself to vote for a criminal who got our soldiers straight up murdered like Hillary. Even if I was a huge liberal, I would have a hard time voting for her.

Because Trump is a madman running on an extremely populist, moronic and hateful rhetoric. He does nothing but play on the misguided fears, mistrust and doubts of the poorly educated, easily manipulated and often downright stupid and bigoted groups of society who are blinded by "the hype" and fall for the endless series of empty buzzwords, vague promises and unsubstantiated claims.

Trump is not going to make your country great again. He is going to do exactly what many conseratives always feared but now so eagerly and hypocritcally support just because they won't be on the receiving end first. The man will erode rights, silence opposition, limit your speech and the press, twist facts and take harsh measures against everyone the far white, conservative and right wing perceives as "the other". He will and already is promoting sickening degrees of hate and hostility against everyone and everything different, with footage of his rallies making me worry about the return of fascism in a Western developed nation. Rather than make a case for himself, he thrives on mindlessly attacking others and running them into the ground through slander and slinging shit instead of proper debates and actual plans or solutions.

Trump's campaign runs on a short list of things that can be very powerful and dangerous if used by those capable of manipulation. Hate, stupidity, mistrust, lies, populism and the idea that blaming a vague scapegoat despite all the evidence to the contrary will make things better for a select few while eagerly casting aside things like human rights, compassion, empathy and tolerance. These simple things and the manipulation of those not intelligent or educated enough to see through this and those not capable enough to see that their qualms are being exploited are the cornerstones of Trump his campaign.

Hillary is far from perfect herself, but she is without doubt the lesser of two evils. Trump is a joke. A mockery of a fundamentally flawed political system that should've ended months ago to demonstrate to your society how wrong things are going. The rest of the world is looking at the US with disgust, and it's well beyond the point of "oh silly America is at it again". This is a serious and quite dangerous. And despite the fact that my faith in the American people has dropped even more during these elections, I genuinely hope people will realise how much of a disaster Trump would be and vote against him even if it means putting Hillary in office.
