Spoiler You have to be hitting the end of the middle tail. Seath has three tails, so make sure you're targeting the middle one. The easiest way to accomplish this is at the very start of the fight. Enter the boss arena and just run right past him to the crystal that needs to be destroyed before you can damage him. Wait there until Seath starts an attack of his own. As soon as he does, run for his back. His own attack will break the crystal and he'll temporarily be stunned because of it. If you high enough DPS output (I think the tail needs like 500 damage to come off) and attack the tip of the correct tail, you should be able to get it right there at the very start of the fight. 5045

And you might want to spoiler what you say in case Verb lied about beating the game for his ruse. And we're back. Gargoyles next? Spoiler Well, Verb is playing Dark Souls 1 so the gargoyles there are somewhat different from the ones you face in DS2. In DS1 they're the first boss you face that doesn't have some sort of trick to beat it easily (Asylum Demon and Taurus both have a place where you can easily plunge attack them from for a lot of easy and safe damage, and Taurus has 3 lightning resins right before the boss that he's very weak to). They're not that hard if you know what you're doing, have a decently upgraded weapon and go after the first one's tail immediately, but they can really be a challenge for new players. I didn't think the gargoyles in DS2 were that hard either, but the fact that they're an optional boss and that you encounter them later in the game does contribute to that. They only become a major challenge if you're on a low DPS build and don't manage to take down the individual gargoyles fast enough. If you don't deal enough damage, it's easy for them to overwhelm you as more of them start appearing. 5047

So you did actually beat it? I was kind of expecting this to turn into a prank. Even more so, I was hoping that it would then turn into "I just haven't gotten around playing it but I'll start the updates again next week" sorta deal. So many fun parts of the game I'd like to hear your tales of.

After redeeming it, I discovered that this credit does not transfer to European Amazon locations (amazon.fr, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de...), meaning that I can only use the money on the American Amazon store. Because shipping from the US to EU is either not an option for most products and the additional shipping / potential custom costs almost not even make it worth it, I haven't spend any of it yet. As an American I know will be coming over to Belgium next week, this may just be a great opportunity for me to have some stuff delivered at their place in the US so that they can be brought over here. Problem is, I don't really need anything or have a specific purpose in mind so any help would obviously be appreciated. 5056

Serious / Re: The second ammendment should only apply to muskets,« on: April 05, 2016, 09:38:14 AM »
It's a stupid argument to make a valid point.
The American founding fathers understandably and forgivably could not account for the later changes in weaponry. The second amendment clearly makes mention of 'arms', meaning all firearms and guns, without limiting itself to muskets or pistols. The mere fact that guns these days have higher rates of fire, pack more of a punch and are more accurate does not change that. While seeing little actual use or private ownership, more technically sophisticated firearms existed even back then and were covered under the amendment just the same. To suggest or assume that the drafters of the American bill or rights did not intend to cover future developments of firearms rather than providing a general 'right to bear arms' is therefore incorrect. Additionally, this flawed argument could be used in an attempt to invalidate pretty much any other right. Does the right to free speech not extent to the internet, phone calls, fax, text messages or modern media in general because none of those things existed back in the 1700s? Does the American 4th amendment not apply to cyberspace, emails, servers or other situations that were unthinkable back then? Even the freedoms envisaged by the great men of the Council of Europe (praise be) in the infallible and brilliant European Convention of Human Rights have required judicial interpretation to continuously account for developments (the internet, medical and scientific advancements, gay rights...) that weren't foreseen in 1950. To imply that any right in any constitution, treaty or convention strictly and exclusively applies to the situation, knowledge and scientific standards as of the time of its conception is preposterous. But however flawed the argument, it does have a decent and valid underlying point. Society does change. Things that were entirely inconceivable decades or centuries ago now do exist. They affect our daily lives and change the society we live in, for better or for worse. To ignore this and suggest that just because something came from a certain authority a few hundred years ago and worked back then, it should remain unchanged and apply equally to our current situation is not always the right call either. There were suggestions among the founding fathers to evaluate and renew the constitution every 20 years and one of them, Thomas Jefferson, even said that "laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors." Guns have become significantly more lethal and are a major cause of death and instrument of crime in the US. To advocate that this should at least be considered and accounted for when discussing and evaluating the second amendment in your current society is absolutely not foolish and does serve a genuine and valid purpose. That being said, it of course needs to reminded that considering gun ownership a fundamental, basic and core human right deserving constitutional recognition is preposterous and that the second amendment should be repealed as soon as possible. HILLARY 2016, MAKE IT HAPPEN. 5063

The Flood / Re: worst airport experiences« on: April 04, 2016, 10:59:57 AM »
First time flying by myself. Agent at the gate accidentally rips my passport and tells me he has never seen anything like that happen in the 30 years he's worked there. Every single encounter with airport, security or customs people for the next 4 flights of my trip (Belgium - Montana) took at least an hour and involved me being held aside while people called Brussels police and the airline to validate everything. Missed 2 flights because of it and ended up almost being dumped in downtown Denver at 3:30am in the middle of the winter by an unwilling shuttle driver. God bless the USA.
Also had to spend the night at a desolate airport in Kenya because the plane's radar system randomly broke down right before take-off, and turn back mid-flight coming out of Italy as the plane was spraying oil everywhere and the pilot didn't think we could clear the Alps, after which he made the exceptionally dry comment "the plane does not appear to work anymore". I doubt anyone can beat those. 5066
