Oh Verb, don't worry. Really, don't. Every single Dark Souls player has been there and knows exactly what you feel. That crushing defeat of losing all the souls and humanity you've spent hours on. The feeling of just being done with the game and ready to give up. It really does happen to everyone who's played the games enough. And it's the make it or break it point. A crushing loss and a seemingly insurmountable foe. This is the stage where thousands of players have given up and just walked away, and that really isn't an exaggeration.
Definitely don't do that. The best is yet to come and your loss is nothing to fret about. I once lost tens of millions of souls and 99 humanity by accidentally strolling of a bridge while looking at my phone. In the large scheme of things, 10k souls and 4 humanity is absolutely negligible. By the time you're at the end of the game, you'll be casually walking around with 100k souls on you and 50 itemised humanity. Chin up and learn from it. With a large blood stain on the line, treat every single enemy like a boss. Valuable lesson learned there.
As for your current situation, getting gud really is the way forward. You were doing reasonable damage as it was, so no worries there. Think about what killed you. Go through your equipment and look for things with high resistance to this particular boss. Try managing the bosses as if you were herding them. Don't let either one out of your sight, don't just run in there and attack. Play smart, careful and reserved. A boss fight can easily take 10 minutes and a lot of focus. Steady and smart gets a player gud.
And Tyger is right. For every person who actually beat a major boss on their first try, there's a dozen who claim they have, who summoned help for it, who watched playthroughs of the game and knew what they were getting into, or who just were so overleveled that there was not much of a challenge left. I have so much more respect for the beginner who stumbled upon the boss with a +2 spear and beat it after a dozen deaths of learning and getting better each time than for the guy who knows what he's up against and shows up with a max upgraded weapon, turtling greatshield, best armor for the job and the highest level estus available at that point of the game and then talks about how he beat it no problem on his first try. Don't let stories discourage you. You're doing just fine.

I believe so. I haven't kept up with this at all but I do remember seeing complaints from people that she was using their footage without consent way back when. They put the videos side by side to show that she just downloaded someone else's video and cut out parts to use in her own videos without giving credit. And seeing how she clearly does it for commercial purposes and makes money from it, claiming fair use isn't evident.
People that record clips of their gameplay don't actually retain any rights to those, do they?
I don't see why they wouldn't. I'm not too familiar with US copyright law and can't be bothered to look it up at this time, but I don't see why a particular audio-visual work couldn't receive copyright protection if the creator inserts some his own "creativity" in it.

That still falls under fair use though I think?? You're allowed to monetize a video and still claim fair use
True, but it is one of the elements considered. She's also not using the clips for commentary, satire or the likes, so I can see people having somewhat of a claim.

Seriously though, only advice I can think of is do background research. If you've applied and got to an interview stage, they sometimes ask pointless questions like "Why apply to this (company/branch/business) over another?" - that's when saying "Because you have a rich history of (whatever the business does if it's been established 200 years ago or whatever) that influence my decision over (some other company)" is better than "NIGGA I'M BROKE AND NEED THE MONEY, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHO I WORK FOR"
Should be easy enough for me, as I actually really want to work there regardless of the pay. Got my sights set on this one.

So I made a thread about me applying for my first ever real job a couple of weeks ago. Earlier today, I received pretty good news and was informed that I've made it through the first selection and have been invited for an interview next week. Pretty damn excited as this is quite the opportunity, but I'm also somewhat nervous about my first interview.
While I don't think my situation is comparable to most typical job interview, as always, any advice, suggestions and tips would be much appreciated.

Glass cannon. Low HP, attack speed and endurance but extreme damage output for a single hit. The one in the video isn't very optimised though, Pontiff is just very weak to criticals. He's using a very strong strength weapon (Yhorm's Great Machete), the Dragon Torso + Head, red tearstone ring and Morion Blade (damage boost when at low health), hornet ring (critical damage increase) and the Deep Protection miracle which slightly boosts damage. Plenty of ways to take it further than this, but it'll take care of Pontiff in a single hit.

Sounds pretty pointless to me. I believe that once a person is legally considered an adult, there should only be a very limited amount of otherwise legal products or actions unavailable to them. Same reason a drinking age of 21 is so stupid. Unless there's some really good reason not to allow a fully legal adult, adding 3 more years to the clock is pretty futile.

Probably CoD. Not a fan of vehicles in any game and the large maps in BF didn't do it for me. I had a blast playing 1942 at LANs back in the day, but aside from that I'd definitely have to give it to CoD.

Estoc/Dark Sword is no match for the hyper-armor and 3-shot kills.
The secret is out. I've been using the axe since I started PVP and I'm seeing it everywhere now. The hipster in me is dying a little.
