In my defense, I always am a pretty nice invader. I wait for them to fight the enemies in the world and leave when they make it clear they don't want to fight. I also don't prey on new players and often leave gifts (such as upgrade materials or souls) when I find myself facing a complete noob.

Gotta give your Darkmoons something to hunt, I suppose.

Remember when I made a thread about applying for my first ever job? Well, I just found out I actually got it.

Somehow, don't ask me how or why, the university chose me out of nearly a hundred candidates for this position. Starting in a few months, I'll be part of the law school staff doing research at one of the best institutions for IT Law in Europe, working on governmental proposals and projects of, among others, the European Commission. They never give out contracts for more than a year, but there's a very good chance it'll be renewed and that I will have the opportunity to get a PhD (doctorate's) in law.

Just gotta pass my exams now, turn my thesis in on time (next week Tuesday) and that's about it.

So yeah, ama me anything or just talk, or don't do any of that. Just felt like sharing the best news I've gotten in months, as I was not expecting this after hearing how many other people had applied for the one opening. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on my interview, even though none of it really came into play.

Have you ever connected to the internet and downloaded the latest patches for the game? I've never played it on PS3 but damn, I've put hundreds of hours into DS1 and the worst glitch I've ever encountered was a dead body ragdolling out of control or an enemy getting stuck in a wall. Your experience with the knight and wyvern are already worse than anything I've seen on the Xbox versions.

Sunlight medals are used to level up in one of the covenants I believe you've already missed. There's a few places to get them throughout the game, but their main source is multiplayer related. Basically, if you're in the right covenant and help someone beat a boss by being summoned, you both gain a sunlight medal. It's why you got one when you beat the Gargoyles with the help of Solaire. Not very useful unless you're looking to obtain the covenant rewards later, but still. The coins (copper, silver, gold) you can obtain throughout the game can be sold for a pretty decent amount of souls with a certain merchant later. Nothing too useful, but again, souls are never bad.

I have absolutely no idea what this entails, so if someone could explain covenants to me, that would be great.

I'm afraid most covenants are going to be pretty useless for you as their primary purpose is to guide the multiplayer aspect of the game. Either way, a brief overview of the covenants is this:

- Warriors of Sunlight (Co-op) = Solaire's covenant to help people with bosses. It gives you offensive miracles when ranking up through the covenant by sacrificing sunlight medals you gain by helping others defeat bosses.

- Princess' Guard (Co-op) = Same as above, only its rewards are defensive / support miracles for helping others beat bosses.

- Way of White (Co-op) = Same as above, only this one gives no rewards but just increases the odds of being matched with other players for summoning and co-op.

- Chaos Servant (PvE) = The only PvE covenant in game, lets you rank up in the covenant by sacrificing humanities in exchange for pyromancy spells and a few shortcuts.

- Darkwraith (PvP) = Invade other players to kill them and steal their humanity. Ranking up and invading others rewards you with humanity, a weapon and an armor set.

- Blade of the Darkmoon (PvP) = Covenant to invade and punish invaders who have been marked as sinners by people they've killed. Gives rewards for killing sinners and sacrificing items to the covenant.

- Forest Hunter (PvP) = Covenant you've just encountered a few members of. It serves to protect the forest from anyone who might seek to harm it and automatically summons its members to stop trespassers. Rewards for ranking up are a few rings and upgrade materials.

- Path of the Dragon (PvP) = The covenant for 'honorable duels' that lets you put down a sign so that others can summon you for a fight. You can't invade randoms with it, only people who choose to summon you. Gives some interesting dragon-related rewards and upgrade materials.

- Gravelord Servants (PvP) = Probably the most interesting covenant in the game. It allows you to 'infect' a number of other people's worlds with stronger enemies. If they manage to get through that area and survive the infection, they can fight you in return and will clear all worlds you infected by killing you.

AND THEN IT WASN'T

Turkey did say that if something seemed like it would be way too costly to access at the start of the game, it's probably supposed to be a late game area. There's definitely a lot of interesting stuff in there, but you might not be strong enough to get to it yet.

It's known as Protocol 69 in the mod chat. Cheat wrote a macro to cleanse the site if it would ever become necessary. It's a fail-safe, if you wish. Weebery reaches a critical mass and all it takes is the press of a single button to wipe it all and start with a clean slate. It will be glorious.

Guess I'm gonna mess around with a new quality build in DkS2. Any advice? I've only played it once, and that was a while ago.

The DLC are some of the best parts of the game, if you have access to them. Other than that, soul memory was pretty terrible for pvp as you probably already know.
