Ok now Meta you try
He eats mayo. What more do I need to say?
In all fairness, there's a lot of bad mayo out there. Some of the stuff I've had in the US and UK was a disgrace. But real, homemade mayo? Damn man. Not even necessarily with fries even.

mayonnaise just isn't for fries.
Fries need mayonnaise.

Oh boy another Flee and Meta have a boring civil conversation thread
Fuck off guys
I actually quite enjoy these conversations. My growing interest in economics is still pretty recent and Meta is well versed in it, so I like talking to him about these things. Ehm, I mean, that uneducated brexiteer piece of nationalist shit drinking down the farage coolaid better listen up and submit to the ever closer Union.

As expected, good news. Let's hope it'll succeed at balancing out the downsides from a weaker sterling and such.

tfw you spend $15 on loot crates to get tracer summer items but don't get a single one

Is there a level cap? And is leveling up the only way to obtain loot crates other than buying them?

Think that's scary? I once had one of the best Navy Seals come after me on YouTube. Couldn't sleep for days.

GEE I WONDER WHY WE VOTED TO LEAVE LADS
Largely unfounded fears of immigration, propaganda, poorly educated people, ignorance, long smear campaigns, populism, desires to strike back at the (wrong) elite, nationalism and resistance to globalisation, I believe. :^) On topic, stupid thing to say. It may have some ideological merit, but it'll never happen and does not represent how most people feel about the EU.

How does Overwatch play on consoles? I can't help but feel like it would be awkward to control and aim (which is the main reason I didn't get it on Xbox), and the gameplay I'm seeing of it does seem to confirm that.
if you want to go hard or go home, pc. But if you have people to play with on xbox there's always winston or symmetra. Heh
Yeah, I did end up getting it on PC for that reason.

I might put a Primal Groudon in there
that's the path to the dark side
but you literally may not have any other options lol
I watched some of the World Championships that took place a few days ago and it was incredibly disappointing to see how little variety there was in teams.

It just takes some getting used to. Overwatch wasn't built around Controllers so I am extremely glad I can change any and all button inputs.
Ah, that's good at least. It just seems like the type of game Overwatch is (fast, twitchy, longer killtimes) is a lot like UT / Team Fortress 2, which I really can't imagine working well on console.
If you really need a game that is fast, twitchy and has a longer killtimes look at Halo 5. People get by just as well with it.
I don't really think Halo 5 is particularly fast, has such long killtimes or is even remotely twitchy. It's based on an almost exclusively console shooter and made entirely with the Xbox in mind. And I'm not saying I need a game like that. Most of the games I love are fast and twitchy. I'm just wondering how a game like Overwatch plays on consoles, as I find it hard to imagine it plays well. I played TF2 on the 360 and it was an attrocious experience, but there's so many people playing Overwatch on consoles that they must've done something right.

Fuck every girl you can. Highschool is when they are easiest.
I forgot to mention this...
Spoiler I'm in 8th grade.
Intended to be in 10th right now, but got held back... So you're not getting a diploma?
Don't worry, I still will
Ah, good to hear. I'm happy to be done studying myself. I'll be starting my first job next week. 7 years of universitary education finally coming to an end.
Congratulations on the work.
Hope the job goes well.
Thanks man. Good luck with your final year.

Honestly, if a cop detains you, you cooperate and he finds nothing bad on you at all, he should be reprimanded.
lolwat
There are myriad reasons why a cop might be reasonable in stopping you yet turn nothing up. And this is ignoring the situations where people clock the coppers and ditch whatever they have on them which might be incriminating.
Doesn't matter. A cop should be 100% sure you're a criminal before he even talks to you.
Are you a sovereign citizen now?

Yeah, I was thinking about that, probably should have done it.
nothing's stopping you, i don't think he saw it yet
Yeah, I didn't see the message. Not gonna check any of the spoiler tags either. Sadly, a part of the main story about what happens to your son did get spoiled for me early on, but other than that I know very little about what's to come.
Okay, that's good. Even if you did see it, it wasn't anything major. I spoiled most of the game for myself though.
Well, I imagine the post was either "yes, the shiskebab is in the game" or "no, it isn't in the game". Neither of which would really spoil anything for me. :p But I appreciate the sentiment.

Progress:
- cleared out the advsafe next to Concord for some ammo and a pipe pistol - ventured into the depths of the Concord sewers.
You weren't kidding when you said enemies are basically just bullet sponges. I encountered a normal soft-shell mirelurk and it took a lot of bullets to go down. It managed to hit me once which took away just over a third of my health. And even simple radroaches take a decent beating from my tire iron (4-5 hits each) as I'm not looking to waste bullets on them. Not much notable loot so far, just some ammo, pipe weapons and aid supplies. The sewers (technically called "civic access") don't really appear to be going anywhere and aside from a dead jet addict, there's nothing of interest here.
- found 2 expert safes (one in the church tower, one in a house at the crossroads in Concord) for later - checked out the church in Concord, which was surprisingly disappoiting. Nothing of interest there at all.
Guided by the house emblem on my map, I headed over to some lights in the distance. I ended up stumbling across the Gorski Cabin, which is a small cabin in the woods swarmed by 5 feral ghouls. I managed to draw the first one away by himself and finish him off easily, but shortly after the 3 others attacked me all at once. I unloaded my shotgun and pipe pistol on them while backpedalling to high ground and ultimately wore them all down in the end. The cabin also had a chemistry workshop in there, so I cooked up 2 stimpaks. Not sure if I'm really going to want to start making chems at this point yet.
- hit level 5 and, due to popular demand, invested my skill point in the gun nut perk which will let me use base weapon mods on my weapons.
Below the cabin was a root cellar. Nothing too fance at first sight except some junk resources, but at the very end of the tunnel I came across the man Gorski himself. I snuck up on him and blasted him in the back with my shotgun for that sweet critical damage kill in 3 hits. Next to him, there appeared to be all the components to create a mini nuke lying on the floor, along with some decent aid materials. Because of this though, I took a decent amount of rad damage which I had to use one of my RadAways. Upon coming back out, everything had a greenish tint to it. Heading back out, I started taking radiation damage instantly. I remember hearing about rad storms when the game just came out, so I figure this is one of those. Slept a few hours in the bed and away it was.

build PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
How innocent he is.
Well yeah, I know it won't stay that way but I do prefer stealth + normal weapons and melee. It's how I played New Vegas too. I guess playstyle is a better word than build?
There are no builds or playstyles in fallout 4
It all eventually devolves into just running into a base with a combat rifle or a laser rifle.
That sounds moderately disappointing.

Is there any reason not to cook food? I've just gone on a bit of a binge and turned all the raw bloatly / mutt / mole rat meat into their cooked variants at the Red Rocket.

The junk you pick up like duct tape and steel is broken down into materials needed for the crafting systems like weapon mods, armor mods, and settlement stuff. You're gonna need a ton of duct tape if you want to craft weapon mods and so forth. You also have to level up this perk called Gun Nut to gain access to more advanced mods.
Weapons in Fallout 4 don't break so you can drop multiple versions of the same weapon unless you want to sell them for caps. You can however break down weapons at the workbench for extra junk materials needed for mods.
As for caps, there's a perk in the Luck set which lets you find more caps in nearly everything you loot. There's also side-quests for all the main factions which will allow you to make a lot of caps as well. Setting up shops in settlements will also let you get caps too.
How exactly do you break things down? I've just placed it all in the workbench but didn't see an option to turn it into scrap.

Well this does complicate completing the Sanctuary quest. Not that I think I can do it right now anyways, I don't have any food to plant and the few things I've found still need to grow. Water and sleeping beds went just fine, but food's at 30% so far. I'll be making my way over to that locked safe which I should be able to lockpick now, and then I'm checking out the sewers area in Concord.

Yes, this needed its own thread.
I've just started my playthrough of Fallout 4 and figured I'd share my progress, questions and criticisms of the game with the Fallout fans of this site.
My prior experience with the series is limited to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, both of which I spent some time playing but never fully completed. I was going to play the game in Survival mode, but the whole lack of manual saving and the need to eat, drink and rest would kill the game for me. So Very Hard difficulty is what it'll be.
Progress so far:
- woke up after being frozen for 200 years - cleared out Sanctuary with Codsworth - discovered the Red Rocket gas station and recruited a dog - found the cave under the gas station after reading about it on the terminal - found a house with a bed and safe (can't open yet) near the city - cleaned out the raiders, rescued the survivors and got into my power armor with minigun - killed everything in sight and safespotted the Deathclaw from inside a shop - discovered a path into the sewers under the city but didn't proceed due to lack of inventory space - escorted the people to Sanctuary
Character:
I'm going for a build focused primarily on stealth and utilising small arms / rifles and melee weapons. Any recommendations are always welcome. So far, I've put my first 2 level ups in general SPECIAL points and the third one into Locksmith which allows me to pick advanced locks.
Level 4.
Strength = 6 Perception = 5 Endurance = 2 Charisma = 3 Intelligence 6 Agility = 6 Luck = 4
Weaponry: 10mm pistol (10mm), Tactical Calibrated Pipe Pistol (.38), Pipe Revolver Rifle (.45), Short Double-Barrel Shotgun and Tire Iron for my melee needs.
Equipment: Drifter Outfit and Hard Hat with Welding Goggles at the ready for that 1 perception boost if necessary.
What is the best course of action to deal with looting stuff? I used to just use the simple formula of "is it worth 10 caps per 1 unit of weight" to decide on whether or not to loot something, but the whole crafting thing seems to have complicated this a lot. So far, I've been picking up stuff that looks useful (ductape, steel items, oil cans...) and managed to fill up my inventory pretty quickly.
What's the deal with multiple weapons? Is there any point in having more of them? In the previous games, you just used them to repair the ones you've already had. Now I have a dozen pipe pistols (I stored them in the workbench in Sanctuary) that don't really appear to have a use.
