Pokémon Japanese Website has announced that the Gold Bottle Caps in Pokémon Sun & Moon will increase a Pokémon IVs to maximum

In Japan the Gold Bottle Cap will be given via serial code, the code will be located in the Pokémon Sun & Moon Official Guide Book
I'm not sure I like where this is going.
why the fuck not

if you say anything about "muh casualization" i'll fucking stab you
Not sure how they're supposed to work, but if there now exists some exclusive item that can be used to boost IV's and requires a serial code, there's an argument to be made that this might lead to the introduction of microtransactions and paid bonuses in the pokemon games.

Serious / Re: Trump being a resolute man telling it like it is
« on: August 25, 2016, 01:28:28 PM »
Well at least he tells it like it is
You know, I'm starting to think that maybe the reason he tells it like it is, is because he just really just tells it all.

Immigrants? Deport them all. Well, not the dreamers. Okay, also the dreamers. But I'm flexible on deportation. Don't call it deportation though. In the end, I'm "gonna do the same as past presidents".

Muslims? Ban them all. Okay, not all, just some. Okay, it was just a suggestion. No, you know what, ban Muslims and people from countries with a history of terrorism. Actually, the Muslim ban was never against all Muslims. In the end, the ban is negotionable. But we'll need extreme vetting.

Minimum wage? Can't be raised because we'd lose to China. Actually, they should be raised. I haven't decided in terms of numbers, but people need to get higher minimum wage. No, you know what, get rid of it all on a federal level. No wait, it needs to be increased. Actually, it should be up to the states. No, it should sit at $10. No wait, it should be increased higher than that, but the states should really call the shots.

Taxes? Oh yeah, the rich need to pay more. Actually, cut taxes for the wealthy by a lot. No wait, rich people should pay more like me. No no, I said that but didn't mean it, really what we need is all taxes cut by this much. Well I thought about it and I think we should slash it by less than that. Wait, in the end, we should just scrap the entire plan and you know, make new brackets which will benefit the wealthy the most.

And I'm not even making any of this up or exaggerating it. This is exactly how Trump's policies evolved over the course of just months. It's brilliant, really. You can say pretty much everything about anything and cover all bases, and then when called out on it just say that you didn't really mean it like that but that you actually wanted it done like this. Fool proof.

Serious / Trump being a resolute man telling it like it is
« on: August 25, 2016, 12:40:06 PM »
Just kidding, it's actually an almost 10,000 word long overview of Trump rapidly changing his positions, policy plans and opinions on just about every political topic there is. An impressive feat for someone who's only been into politics for a year, as a lot of his claims and statements are polar opposites to what he said just weeks or days before or after. I would quote the article, but it's 30 pages and 40,000 characters long when I pasted it in Word, so I'm gonna leave it like that.

And yes, >CNBC is trash and some of his position changes are more elaborations than the exaggerated complete changes, but I couldn't resist at least mentioning this after the one actual Trump supporter I know in real life told me that at least Trump doesn't flip-flop but tells it like it is and has a clear and decisive plan.

Seriously though, how can people support stuff like this? It's borderline insane.

I just googled "USA election 2016 forecast" and picked the ones on the first page of search results. Never heard about it either.

It appears the slide was just made by a local unit without any sort of oversight. It's also not really listing her as a future threat, but rather as a warning on how not to handle classified information next to General Petraeus who disclosed classified information to his biographer.

Army uprising denied.

I like reading these threads but I don't know anything about money so I never feel like I can comment in them

this is cool though.
This one's really not too complicated.

Basically, I'm sure you know that not currencies are equally valuable. Some are stronger and more valuable, others are weaker and less valuable. How they compare to one another is expressed through the exchange rates, which change pretty much every few minutes. The strength of a currency depends on a lot of things, such as the strength of its economy, how it's used in international trading and especially how high foreign demand is for that currency. Because of that, expectations and prospects of how an economy will fare can play a huge role in setting the value of a currency. When the UK referendum was held and the British voted to leave the EU, confidence in the future of the UK's economy tanked and the pound fell to the lowest and weakest it had been since the 1980's.

Now, not everything about this is negative, which is exactly what this article is talking about. Because the British pound was so low, other currencies became stronger (relatively speaking, of course). For an exaggerated example, imagine that the dollar and pound were equal at first. 1 dollar gets you 1 pound. This means that if you're an American buying things in the UK, you're buying them at the same price as you would in the US. Now, imagine the pound falls and becomes weaker. Instead of being sterling-dollar 1:1 ratio, it'll now be 0.9:1. In reality, this means that this 1 dollar from before now equates to 1.10£ in the UK. So if that same American buys something in the UK, his 1 dollar at home now translates into 1.10 pounds in the UK, making it so that he'll get more value for the same price. For small purchases this is almost negligible, but when you're up into the hundreds or thousands of dollars, this 10% change does make a tremendous difference. In other words, a weaker pound sterling means that foreigners will get more bang for their buck when buying things in the UK. The OP is talking about how this resulted in more foreigners buying things in the UK, which results in higher British exports which is obviously good for British businesses.

But obviously there's also another side to this and it's far from all good. The weaker pound means that British people and businesses buying abroad will end up having to pay more for the same products and services. It can lead to increasingly high inflation, which will drive up local prices and make living and operating a business in the UK more expensive without wages to match it, which can drive down consumer spending. It's also considered bad for British travelers, foreign workers and sectors relying on immigrants.

Either way, this is a good news that was to be expected after the pound's drop.
