I don't get why people care about a Pokemon having 6 ivs. 5 is good enough, because Pokemon usually have a redundant stat or two.
It's fun to have a perfect one. Even if it doesn't really need it, it's still nice knowing the pokemon you bred and trained is literally flawless. Besides, it's really not that hard to get one in the later generations. I have 2 perfect Bagons (one jolly, one adamant), a perfect Scyther and two perfect Dratinis (one marvel scale, one shed skin) and it only took me a few hours to get them, all while simultaneously breeding for shinies just the same.

Dark Souls.
Quake 3 Arena / Quake Live.
Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.

The holy trinity still stands strong.

Touchy subject. Is Trump "the KKK is right, niggers are subhuman and should go back to Africa" racist? No, I strongly doubt it. But is there evidence to suggest that he in the very least has some stereotypical and unsavory opinions about blacks, immigrants and minorities? Quite clearly, yes.

A lot of the things on that list are also pretty bogus too. A number of them are pretty telling, but others? His dad got in a fight with police during a KKK rally? A retweet of Hillary with a david star? Obama birther claims (which he recently recanted)? Anne Frank's relatives think he's acting like Hitler? Come on now. Trump's a shitty person and a terrible presidential candidate, but that's hardly proof of him being racist.

I think what's more important is his lack of actions. Him defending some of his supporters gone violent. Him not denouncing or rejecting statements or actions from people close to him. Him not opposing the open racists supporting him. Instead of distancing himself from these white supremacist, racist and hate groups, he embraces their support and makes ambiguous statements whenever pressured about it so that he can not openly support them but still be then chosen candidate of the racists and scum who feel bolstered by his quiet acceptance of them. But he's a conman who is happy to sell people the vague and ambiguous product he's made himself into. He'll never give up the precious support of millions of hateful and unedcuated people whose backs he can ride on and who truly think he's on their side. It's a sad, sad reality.

To be fair, Porygon Z is one of the few Pokemon that Hyper Beam is actually viable on. It's pretty badass as a revenge killer.
Time to breed a Porygon-Z I suppose. What would you suggest?
Porygon-Z @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest/Timid Nature
- Tri Attack/Hyper Beam
- Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt/Ice Beam
- Trick
I'd say Nasty Plot > Trick, and give it a Life Orb instead. People shit themselves when Porygon gets a boost off. I always thought Trick + Choice was kinda gimmicky.

I also prefer Download as an ability, but it's kinda tricky to use if you're just starting out.
I have no idea what either of them do. And Adaptability seems great for Hyper Beam.

yeah but then you have to use hyper beam...

I prefer tri attack because you can use it every turn so it's a net gain in damage over 2 turns plus the chance to burn/freeze/para
hyper beam is his favorite move

Such a shame it's not competitively viable, I've been told. That unique sound it makes in the first gen games too, damn.

Phara's concussive blast is pretty good at bouncing yourself away from an enemy ult if you don't want to use the jump pack yet
Pivot 180 and fire it at a wall behind you while you jump and it'll launch you forward. Great speed boost off a respawn on maps like Anubis where jumping isn't practical right off the bat.

She's basically a Quake Champion. Surprised she doesn't have a skin named "Ranger" tbh
It's why I love her. I see so many people struggling with the rockets but it just comes as a second nature to me after all this time.

Nobody ever publicly accused Trump of racism until he ran against the Democrats. Funny thing, that.
Many of these reports go back years and were publicized and covered by the media as Trump being racist even back then. It just never made the spotlight, as no one really cares about some excentric businessman and reality TV star saying stupid things and making questionable decisions.

More accurate would be that few people cared to publicly accuse Trump of racism and that it didn't gain much attention, because he was just another random rich guy, not under broad public scrutiny as an actual presidential candidate.

Yeah, I don't really know much about competitive pokemon at all.
Gotcha. Are you familiar with Smogon, or at least the distinction between Smogon rules and VGC rules?
Quote
Like, what would you suggest and say about Charizard, Metagross, Gardevoir...? Preferably offensive ones, really.
These are Pokémon I basically never use, and while I could certainly help, I'd probably just be regurgitating a lot of what their Smogon articles say--so I'll just direct you to their pages instead. Smogon is a great resource.

Charizard
Metagross
Gardevoir

All of them are absurdly powerful when given their respective Mega Stones. Mega Charizard X and Mega Metagross in particular are among the strongest selections in the competitive metagame (barring VGC rules). Mega Charizard Y is also pretty stupid, but very overrated--Stealth Rock invalidates it completely. Mega Gardevoir is strong, but delicate.
I'm familiar with them, but not aware of all the details. VGC is pretty much always doubles though, right? I've watched a decent amount of competitive pokemon without actually playing it myself.

Guys, can anyone recommend me a good Dragonite for competitive? Just the most standard / strong one you can think of.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry/Leftovers/Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage/Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed/Fire Punch/Roost
- Earthquake
Thanks, that sounds good. I'll go for fire punch or roost, I guess. Can't get an extremespeed Dratini in Gen VI, apparently.
You can get it as an egg move. I know my Dragonite has it, so I can quickly breed up a dratini for you if you want.
That'd be great, thanks. Does it also know Dragon Dance? Not that it's necessary. But yeah, Extremspeed Dratini was apprently only available somewhere in HG/SS. You can only get it in Gen VI through egg moves from a pokemon from that gen.
Yep, it also knows DD as well.
Well I'm still online, so if you have one it'd be much appreciated. I can give you a 5IV Bagon (Jolly / Adamant) in return, if you'd like.
Breeding it up now. Will be done in like 10 mins.
Thanks. Any preference? Jolly or Adamant?

Also, what is your preferred method of breeding? I'm just going around in circles on the Battle Resort island with a Talonflame in my party. Seems pretty damn common.
Adamant preferably.

That's exactly how I breed.

EDIT: Well looks like the Dratini I bred you is Flawless. Enjoy.
Thanks man, it's got perfect IV's in everything but special attack, which is great. I'm still gonna breed it for a 6 IV one just because.
Oh, and that Dratini I gave you had Marvel Scale on it right? I think I forgot to check the ability.

EDIT: nvm I do remember it having Marvel Scale, so you should be fine.
Yep.

Oh yeah, Husky brought up Weakness Policy--that's a brilliant strategy, but it relies heavily on Multi-scale.
Yeah, I don't really know much about competitive pokemon at all. So far, I'm just enjoying the breeding part because I only just started looking into it. Plus, I have a 6 IV Japanese ditto (totally legit from a Wonder Trade, of course) so I can breed comptetively and maybe get a shiny at the same time.

Any other suggestions are very welcome too. I'd like to just have a set of the most typical competitive pokemon, preferably. Just the 'staples' of the competitive scene, if that makes sense? I'm not yet looking for a balanced or creative team, but just solid pokemon for if I'd ever want to do battles or trade them with others. Like, what would you suggest and say about Charizard, Metagross, Gardevoir...? Preferably offensive ones, really.

Spoiler
How did you guys get Victinity?
The mythical pokemon? We got them by trading through the GTS or random trades. And this year there's a free one every month now, which is pretty cool. And it's actually surprisingly easy if you know what pokemon to use. A few pokemon are in very high demand, so by breeding the right ones you can trade up and get a low tier legendary in like 3-4 GTS trades.

tfw never played a new pokemon game on handheld after Black 2
I only recently started again. I never played Platinum, B/W, B/W2 and such. Soul Silver was the last one I played and then I gave up on the series. It's only around the time ORAS came out that I found out you could get all 720 pokemon in the last 2 games, so my girlfriend and I got the games together and completed a living dex.
