Here's a direct link to the National Canadian Cancer Society's donate page. Might be more appropriate.

I tried to do an anime and watched Cowboy Bebop. Lost interest two episodes in, but I might try again I guess.

I don't like anime, but I'll watch Dragonball

Fuck off.

It's ok to like Dragon Ball
Dragonball is literally the only acceptable anime for any person to enjoy. This is an objective and indisputable fact.

What even is this thread

2531
sure you dont directly hurt anyone and as far as crimes go most people dont give a shit but that doesnt mean its right
I don't think anyone tries to argue that it's the right thing to do. Just that it's such an inconsequentially small wrong that can benefit the content creator and causes no harm to anyone, neither directly or indirectly, that it's hardly even worth talking about.

2532
Unrelated to this specific case, but what do you think about that? Say I download 3 movies a month. That would normally cost me $30. At the end of the month, I donate that $30 to a charity feeding the poor and homeless. Would that still be morally reprehensible? Had I not downloaded the movie, I never would've bought it.

2533
Is it ethically wrong?
Definitely.

Is it ethically wrong for us to sit on our asses and play video games or banter on a forum when we could be spending that time and energy on feeding the homeless, raising money for charity or helping others in need? Maybe.
Definitely.

The argument from "everyone else does it, too" (which your use of the word "maybe" weakly hinges upon) does not suddenly make these things okay, even though the notion gives you personal comfort. Objectively, both of these things (piracy & overall negligence) are morally execrable and no reasonable person denies it.

The difference is that I do one less morally execrable thing than you do, and maybe you should envy that.
What you do is one different (im)moral thing, not necessarily one less. That'd imply there being a tally of all the moral things we do and see who comes out on top. And if that was the case then sure, I'd envy you. But I don't see that being the case. So for now, I'll keep on downloading a movie I otherwise never would've bought in a way that causes zero damage to anyone and keep putting the money saved by doing that to charities I donate to. Very comfortable.

because that person never intended to buy the game in the first place, therefore no sale was lost. Regardless of how dubious and absurd that premise is
Why is that such an absurd premise? It holds true for pretty much everything I end up downloading.
Because it rather blithely misses the point, and that because "loss of sales" is not the more pertinent issue.

You don't have the right, ethically, to use any good or service that was intended to be paid for, if you indeed chose not to pay for it. It doesn't matter how you personally feel about that--whether you personally intend to pay for the product is irrelevant. You have to, regardless of how you feel.
Perhaps, but I guess I just don't feel the same way. Is it ethically wrong? Maybe. Is it ethically wrong for us to sit on our asses and play video games or banter on a forum when we could be spending that time and energy on feeding the homeless, raising money for charity or helping others in need? Maybe. No harm, no foul and potential promotion for the creator is what makes it acceptable for me to do this. They're not losing out on anything, they don't know and it doesn't affect them in any negative way at all.

Gotta say, the game needs some tweaking but damn, it's fucking great.

There will be another beta round opening up soon where more invites will be sent out. I think that's public knowledge though.

I heard the menu screen has the fps going overboard
Where are you hearing all this?
Been reading the Quake Champion thread on /v/
Well, no beta is flawless. :p
Cheeky little cunt you just wait
Ah damn, my 14 game win streak has ended by running into a pro player. That's been one of the coolest parts of the beta so far. Getting paired up with these famous players who won Quakecon and world championships in the past. I beat one, lost by 3 points to another and then got my ass kicked by the third.

I've played through the first few missions on my Xbox One and haven't experienced anything like this. Is it only the PS4?

I'm on Xbox One, but I've seen it reported across all platforms. When you move the stick, does the camera turn immediately?
I should give it another go and see. But to be fair, I've complained about this since Dishonored 1 already. I don't think it was unplayable, but I do recall some disruptive input lag.

I haven't received my key yet REEEEEE
I hope you'll still get one.
Hopefully, although I wouldn't mind waiting for the open beta if necessary
I think that's more likely to happen.

You're not alone, after all.

I'm reading that the ones who are playing the close beta right now are forced to wait in a queue, is it true?
Not at this point. I'm playing right now and it's great. I've 4 out of my 4 games. I missed this. :)

I can't say much because of the NDA, but holy fuck this game is great. Plays and feels like proper Quake, and definitely no slower than it should be.

Probably my favorite Verb comment about Dark Souls. Game isn't even done yet but already all about that solo melee game.

Holy shit, there's a lot of people and pretty big names in the community who didn't get a key. Lucky me. I guess they might have looked at your past or something, because the email mentions that "my dedication" and commitment to the series has paid off so that I can play as one of the first.

Anyone else here got an invite?

This is really cool. I haven't been part of many betas this small and closed before. Looks like they really went for people with a history of Quake. They have private access forums with devs and community managers where we're supposed to make threads, discuss stuff with the Quake people and give our feedback. This is great.
