Things I have seen so far:
- morbidly obese man with two obsese children, all wearing MAGA hats (and the dad had a constitution shirt + sweatpants on) at at the Atlanta Airport - black people talking and acting like American black people you see on the internet (it was great - the girls went mmm hmmm while waving their finger and the guys said dawg 3 times a sentence) - storm drains like in the movies and big sewer entries with bars in place to keep out the alligators (unfortunately, no alligators seen yet) 10/10 would clap again 2380

Serious / Re: Should there be regulation when it comes to owning firearms?« on: May 03, 2017, 03:22:14 PM »I agree, I dedicated a very lengthy thread to the links between gun violence and mental illness at one point. But while there's no real link between the two, there is a link between mental illness and the highly publicized shootings. It's a poor measure on its own, but I'd say there's still a strong argument to be made that there should be more restrictions on owning and publicly carrying firearms for those suffering from established mental illnesses. That this might deter some from seeking help is one of the only decent counter arguments against it. It's one of those things that kind of needs a change in public opinion to go with it, but that's not something you can force. There are a whole slew of arguments again legislating gun restrictions for the mentally ill though. First of all, it incorrectly identifies the mentally ill as highly susceptible to violent crimes, which is simply untrue. Second, it provides a barrier to diagnosis for people that are afraid their freedoms will slowly be regulated away just because they seek treatment for their illness; it stigmatizes mental illness as a source of crime. Suicide by firearm is a serious issue, as it's the most successful method, but at what point does the government step aside from baby-proofing the house, if you will? The U.S. and U.K. have comparable suicide rates, so clearly the solution isn't as easy as banning guns. Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying you believe that's the only step that should be taken, but whether gun bans actually decrease suicide rates is highly contested.Somewhat relevant, but Trump very quietly turned back measures put in place by Obama to keep the mentally ill from obtaining firearms. No media coverage, no announcements, just a slight mention at the bottom of a White House press release. And while it's definitely contested, I personally think that restricting the access to gun is likely to have an effect on suicide rates. Comparisons between different countries reflect this poorly, but I can think of several studies looking at the same area before and after gun control reforms that found notable positive effects on suicide rates, or that identified the heightened risk of suicide due to the presence of a firearm. The Flood / Re: What's Up?« on: May 02, 2017, 05:41:26 AM »Good question; how do we define "up" in a 3D universe? On Earth, we traditionally use the sky to mean "up", but the Earth is a sphere. We could use the ecliptic of the Solar System, which in turn is derived from the ecliptic of the Milky Way but even then, how do we define which side is up or down? Stars in the north could be used, but they come from the separation of hemispheres based on magnetic fields and the locations of who was making the maps in question. He was clearly just asking about the critically acclaimed 2009 Disney Pixar movie "Up", in which an unlikely duo goes on an incredible adventure in a floating house. 2396
Gaming / Re: Overwatch« on: May 02, 2017, 05:06:19 AM »Junkrat sure, but Pharah? Maybe it's different on console because of the aim assist, but leading your rockets and predicting enemy movement definitely takes a lot of skill on PC. She can be used to spam an area from a fair distance away, but that's only a small part of her role. Plenty of advanced movement techniques, aiming that's more difficult than hitscan and her force push that can knock people off or change entire team fights. I mean, she ain't no Tracer or Genji, but I think she's well balanced and definitely up there in terms of skill.I (rightly) assume that anyone that mains Genji or Widowmaker on console is a piece of shit. Hanzo I can forgive for his broken scattershot, radar arrow, and ult.Hanzo is easily one of my least favorite heroes. I know there's some very skilled Hanzo players out there, but the vast, vast majority of times you're killed by one it just feels so cheap. Arrows with hitboxes the size of a Torbjorn that are just spammed at your team until it happens to connect with your torso and register a headshot, or scattershots that, if god wills it, bounce in the right way to deplete your entire health pool when placed somewhere in the general vicinity of your feet. It's the kind of hero where if I'm killed by him, I usually feel like it was just a cheap lucky shot that wouldn't have landed it if weren't for the extremely lenient hitboxes. And the rare times I'm playing as him, I feel like few of my kills are actually deserved, which is a feeling I don't really have with many other heroes. Doesn't seem like I'm alone in thinking that either: http://www.dbltap.com/posts/4867761-6-hardest-heroes-in-overwatch-to-master 2397
