And yes, this is good news for all the weebs in Europe because importing all anime stuff and Japanese things will be cheaper and easier without customs and whatnot.

https://m.dw.com/en/eu-and-japan-create-worlds-biggest-free-trade-zone/a-47319521Friendship ended with UK. Japan is our new best friend now. No tarrifs or trade restrictions between the EU and Japan anymore. Free import of all Japanese stuff and big boosts for trade in Europe, and vice versa. Export of European values, labor standards and human rights measures to Asia. Fuck I love the EU. I feel bad for the UK now.

Also, why did no one tell me that attacking with the stick is so good wtf
That's just normal tilt attacks. Use it as ya see fit if you want but you don't wanna get into a habit of spamming it exclusive. Your smashes and neutrals are still and important part of playing.
i assumed he meant the c-stick, surely he knew about tilt attacks before
Yeah, I know they're not new / unique attack and you can just perform them with the right timing on the buttons and movement stick. It's just a lot easier with the c-stick, especially for stuff like backwards swings in mid-air and stuff.

I don't think I ever really use neutrals unless it's by accident.

So my boy Link's apparently top tier now? Nice
i don't know about top tier, but he's the best he's ever been for sure
Several pro players recently put him in S tier apparently, so he can't be too bad.

Looks great for what it is. A co-caster of mine used to be Quake 2 world champion, I should ask if he's already seen it.

I'm not in the know on Brexit, but I thought the entire point of it was to gain independence from EU law. What is the point of "leaving" if the deal you make is just going to keep the country subject to it?
That's one of the many follies of it all. The EU is one of the largest economies in the world. It's rivaled only by the US and China and, depending on the metric you use, beats them in some aspects. This allows it to make high demands with trading partners wanting to enter the "European single market". It all depends on the sector and the country involved, but the EU seeks to maintain a high standard of adequacy for the quality of foreign products and services. You want to sell your (foodstuff) to the EU? Sure, but you have to make sure you follow every single one of its rules regarding health, safety, hormones, pesticides, labeling, packaging, origin and so forth before you're allowed to do so. Oh, you want to offer a digital service to people in the EU? Perfect, but keep in mind that the GDPR applies to businesses located outside of Europe too so you have to show you're in compliance with all laws on data processing. You want to introduce a new cellphone plan to Europe? No problem, but you'll have to follow all the standards for non-sim locked cards, the abolition of roaming fees, the guarantee that people can easily transfer to other providers... You get the point. You want to trade with the EU? Be prepared to follow all of its rules, standards, human rights clauses and so on. The EU can do without the UK just fine, but the opposite? Not so much. The UK simply needs the European market to export its goods and services to. So even after Brexit, the UK will still have to effectively abide by most of the European legislation and convert it into its national laws and courts as well. The main difference is that the country will then have given up its very influential position in the EU and will have no say in any of its policies.

I'm not that far into the game yet. Maybe around 5 hours in. I made it to Kakariko village and am doing the quest to fully restore my slate. But most of what I've done has just been exploring and running to whatever seems interesting rather than following the quest markers. I opened up a handful of the towers and already cleared a bunch of shrines.

The degradation just doesn't make much sense and simply isn't very fun. You say there's a high emphasis placed on resource management but also that there's such an abundance of weapons that you'll never run out, which kind of defeats the entire point of having to manage your weapons. All you can really do is save your best kit for the strongest enemies when they could've done so much better. It's not as if the degradation forces you to be clever or inventive either since the combat mechanics are relatively shallow (not bad at all, just not very deep) and you don't get a drastic gameplay difference depending on the weapon you're holding. There's just so many ways they could've done it better, imo. Add some RPG elements to using weapons so that you "level up" with a certain type when you use them to become more proficient at them. This would incentivize fighting enemies and using different combat styles. Instead of just saving your weapons with higher damage per hit for stronger enemies, make the effects of weapons more pronounced and have you change them around mid-fight or something. The current degradation just feels pointless and like a chore while nothing of value is added. Lots of missed opportunities.
Menu management really isn't that good. Being unable to drop things directly is a pain (yeah you can throw them but it's not as fast for multiples). You don't have an option to automatically swap weapons when one breaks. Having to hold everything before cooking is a mess, especially at lower levels when you want to make one or two item dishes. Sideways scrolling instead of a wheel as a quick menu is a poor choice... I mean, it's not horrible. But there's definitely lots of room for improvement.
Not wanting to engage in fights is pretty problematic for a game like this. I'm only a few hours in and already decided to avoid several fights. Unless I just sit back and use my abilities to take them out, all I'll be doing is breaking my weapons and potentially take damage I have to heal away for what? A few goblin horns to add to my collection of dozens and a wooden club or two, with maybe something slightly above average from a chest. Just doesn't seem worth it more often than not. Something like an exp or proficiency mechanic would be a much better incentive.
And yeah, the exploration is fun but the world sometimes seems strangely empty. I know I'm not too far along yet but veering off the path hasn't been all that interesting. Other than some shinres I have yet to find any side quests, good loot, additions to the story and stuff like that. Just not terribly impressed so far but maybe it'll get better.
It just feels like abilities aren't very integrated into normal play or combat. You either use them to solve puzzles exclusively, to open a fight with a bomb or to just take them out with abilities by smacking them with heavy stuff. There's unfortunately not much else. Stasis arrows or projectiles in midair. Magnetise a weapon out of an enemy's hands. Hookshot someone and pull them into you for a combo or pull yourself towards a platform to get away from danger. Fuck it, statis yourself while running in place to build up Sonic style momentum and speed ahead or up, or slow down your bow so that you can fire off a bunch of arrows which float in the air until they all release together. Throw a weapon into an enemy's face, stasis it as he falls back, run up to him, snatch it again from the air and combo into another hit. You can even make it so that you need to get a combo of successful and undamaged hits going before you can this kind of stuff so that it's not too OP. There's so much more they could've done to further integrate abilities into combat / normal gameplay.
Don't get me wrong, I'm liking the game. This is just the stuff I wish was better. The game looks beautiful, plays pretty well (although 30fps is such a disgrace for the title), is filled with lots of content in a nice open and fully accessible world, has great physics, solid combat and so on. But damn, it just feels like it could have been so much more.

Game's alright so far, but:
- weapon degradation is a horrible mechanic. - menu management and swapping stuff is awful (which doesn't help since you've got all the cooking and whatnot to do) - fighting monsters already feels like a chore 3 hours in because they'll just respawn, you won't get anything good from them anyways, and you'll just break your weapons doing so - stamina runs out way too quickly (I imagine this well get better later on but it's still a pain) - exploration so far doesn't feel like it's been terribly rewarding - abilities have felt underwhelming outside of the dedicated shrines
That said, the game looks good and the tech is pretty solid. Nowhere near a GOAT game though. Early impressions are a 7, maybe 8 out of 10.

I'm not really a fan of second referendums as a matter of principle, but this was still pretty hilarious.
That's great. And while I wasn't much in favor of another referendum back in the early days after the vote, I think there's been enough new developments over the past two and a half years to warrant another one. The way in which the first referendum was held was proposterous by making the Leave option a basket case of different opinions. The Leave campaign has been proven to have illegally misused campaign funds to affect the vote, there is considerable evidence that foreign governments with stakes in a divided Europe have been involved in voter manipulation and widespread misinformation campaigns, and the news leading up to the vote has been absolutely horrible with propaganda and attacks being thrown around as if Trump was in the room. Many of the Leave campaign's threats have proven to be completely fabricated and unfounded (f.e: Turkey about to join the EU and flood the UK with tens of millions of Muslims) while many of its promises have been broken from day 1 onwards (f.e: the £350 million that would go into the NHS every week, the idea that the UK would just get to keep all the same benefits without any of the responsibilities...). Meanwhile, much of what Remain warned of has come to pass despite Brexit not even having happened yet (f.e: rise of hate crimes, drain of jobs and finances, hits to the economy, growing concerns of resources, prices going up, necessary labor forces dwindling...) as several of the hoped Brexit scenarios have either been wiped of the table because the EU refused, or ended up giving the EU plenty of control in key areas while stripping the UK of much of its influence. It took the British government two years to come up with a deal. That deal had less than 15% of citizens supporting it and was rejected by both progressives and conservatives in the largest defeat the government had seen in history. The real affront to democracy is not to hold a second referendum. It would be to treat a non-binding and advisory vote won with a marginal majority over 2.5 years ago as gospel when the circumstances have changed entirely and it's become clear that many of the downsides which were rejected as fearmongering are actually happening and that most of the promised benefits are impossible to achieve or were downright lies.

Stocks barely even took a brief dip and are up again, social media responses were by a large margin positive and several reports / surveys already show that the ad was overall very well received.
Seems like a good move so far.
I don't think people care about ads when they buy razor blades, they just care to get a nice product which works well. Unless ad is very controversial, then maybe, but even then such an ad alone wouldn't create a long lasting effect
Oh I know. I'm not saying they'll suddenly sell more because of this. I just made that post because I've seen plenty of people on other sites clamoring how everyone's going to abandon Gillette because of the ad and how the company screwed up badly by "attacking all men" and stuff like that, so I figured I'd comment on that here. Some products benefit a lot from advertising. Movies, food, cars, websites, stuff like that. But others really don't, especially when they're already well established. Just about everyone in the world already knows Coca-Cola, for example. I've been to the middle of nowhere in Africa to spent time with a Masai tribe and what was literally the first sign of civilization after leaving them again? A small house on the side of the road where some locals were sitting on plastic garden chairs under a big Coca-Cola umbrella. Literally no one in any country in the world where they sell coke is a person going to find out about the soft drink through an ad on TV. And still, the company invests millions in advertising all over the world. It does so to stay relevant. So that when people go to the store and decide to pick up some soda, they'll go with Coke because it's familiar and recognizable due to its brand placement. Same goes for Gillette. Its sales probably won't rise or fall in any meaningful way because of this. But it keeps them relevant and in people's minds. And that's what all these outraged people don't seem to realize. In the real world outside of random Twitter and youtube comments or videos made by reactionary "influencers", people don't give a shit about how a shaving advertisement is supposedly offending all men's delicate sensibilities. All this is is publicity. Good publicity too. And these people who've been pushing Gillette to trending on Twitter for several days straight are only helping it.

I finally made an anti-Death Persona... on accident. The game doesn't even tell you that she absorbs Death-type skills.
Oh well, I guess, at least I have one now. Finally out of that horrible toilet dungeon, too. Hopefully she resists Death for the rest of the series, too, so I know exactly what to fuse for from now on.
Literally every single you've said about this game / series sounds so unappealing.

>the financial sector has already moved over $1 trillion from the UK to the EU because of Brexit >the UK financial services industry is becoming considerably smaller >these are the most conservative estimates based only on what the biggest banks have recently announced in public >Bank of England warns that a Brexit without a deal will hurt the UK and its people more than the massive 2008 financial crisis >several thousands of jobs have essentially moved from the UK to Europeans as finance businesses move offices >this is ongoing and looking to only increase over the next few weeks Someone should put that on a big red bus and drive it around the country. At this point, I'm sure we could make a strong case that the hardcore Brexiteers such as Farage are actually EU sleeper agents pushing Brexit as a means of siphoning UK resources and wealth to the European mainland. https://edition.cnn.com/2019/01/07/investing/brexit-banks-moving-assets/index.html
