For someone that always talks shit about the US you sure do like coming here a lot
It's not entirely by choice. My better half is American and her entire family lives there. Weddings, holidays and big family events are some of the reasons I travel to the US for.

That being said, I like going there. I wouldn't want to live there, but it's a pretty neat place to visit. Some decent people there and interesting things to do. I criticize its shoddy meme worthy politics and other bad shit, but no more than I do with my own country.

Holy shit why does 343 insist on the carry frigates inside a bigger ship meme

SPACE IS A VACCUUM

THEY DON'T NEED TO BE ON THE INSIDE

ALL THAT MEANS IS THEY TAKE AGES TO DEPLOY WHEN YOU GET IN A FIGHT FOR NO GOOD REASON INSTEAD OF CONTRIBUTING TO DEFENSE BY STICKING IN THE FLEET

Jesus christ I fuckinh hate everything Infinity stands far. It fails to do anything well from a logical standpoint and has no fucking reason to exist. REEEEEEEEEEEE

BUNGiE was doing this already with Covenant Supercarriers, which is what Infinity is anyway. It also operates in atmosphere as we've seen multiple times. If they were on the outside they'd be more suceptable to attacks and in the case of Halo 4 when the ship crashed, they and nonevent onboard would have been turned to pankakes.
The CSO is also ridiculously stupid.

That aside, your argument is stupid. If they were attached via docking clamps on the outside you'd just need to sever the connection by quickly disconnecting it. Even then, that's such a ridiculously specific scenario that would never happen in normal circumstances that it's still a bullshit explanation.
I don't know or care much about any of this, but it seems to make sense. Big ship with big defenses can take a big beating. Smaller ships on the inside remain safe in the event of an attack until crew can board and get ready. Having them on the outside seems like it would make them highly vulnerable to missiles or bombing runs, as well as much more difficult and risky to board efficiently.

I'm going back to the US in a few months to celebrate Thanksgiving with people. What do I do? I heard you have to glorify killing Indians and pray to Jesus or something. Then you eat a turkey with bread in it?

Pretty weird, guys.

Pretty much every night. I play games, write or just browse the internet.

None of these games.

Play something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or F.E.A.R.. Interesting games with interesting mechanics. The former is about a sixteen hour adventure if you're taking your time, but entertains the whole way, The latter is spooky on occasion, but the difficulty dips between easy firefights and fuck-you so much on occasion you're left almost wanting for more.

I only say this because the nightmares and the horror genre have begun to correlate. I just want visual context.
I liked FEAR. Never got into STALKER because my old pc couldn't really run it.
How could you run FEAR but not STALKER?
FEAR came out a few years before STALKER. It's also set in much more confined areas while STALKER (from the 30 minutes of playtime I had) seems to involve a lot of open and sprawling areas which would make it more demanding of your PC. FEAR was borderline playable on my laptop, but STALKER had really choppy FPS and some of the worst screen tearing I've ever seen, so maybe it just wasn't optimized as well either. We're talking about like 5-6 years back at this point, by the way. My current PC could run either game without issues, so I'll definitely consider giving it another go.

Not in college anymore, but I was lucky enough to be a full time student. Higher education doesn't cost an arm and a leg here, so it's very affordable without incurring debt or having to work to support yourself.

Gaming / Re: Streaming - Dark Souls LIVE NOW
« on: August 29, 2017, 06:34:15 PM »
That was plenty fun. Played some Quake first and then started a new Dark Souls character (as demanded by Snake, I'm going with Dex and using the Balder sword). Got to show some PVP action and made it to Queelag (currently around level 35). Also showed some pictures of my puppy and discussed how we can use a puppy cam to get me to the Twitch front page as soon as possible. I'm planning on continuing this soon and also giving Undertale a try. Thanks to all of you for watching (Banjo, Snake, Markhan, Verb, Irish, Chally) - I now broke my personal streamer best with 10 viewers. :)

Undertale has tied things up, so I'll probably play that tomorrow. Live with Dark Souls now, waiting for someone to join before I start.

Going live in a minute. First some Quake then probably Dark Souls.

An overwhelming 40% of all 5 votes goes to Dark Souls. I'll stream the Quake daily challenges first real quick and then start Dark Souls. I'll let whoever is watching decide what to do. Soon we'll tackle Undertale.

blind playthroughs are fun
Yeah, I've been wanting to play Undertale for a while now. Some of the songs are really good. It's just easy for me to play FPS and such because I know I'm good at them and can give people some good footage to watch.

But new stuff will be good too. I've also been thinking of giving fighting games a shot sometime. Street Fighter or Tekken maybe. Not sure what I would even start with.

I've been watching the occasional Smash video when bored and I have to say that the best thing about its esports scene seems to be the black casters losing their shit and getting overly excited.

So, eh, kind of new to this streaming thing, but it turns out the chat had died on the other screen I had open. I didn't see any of your messages until I ended the stream and it automatically refreshed. I just thought no one was watching or talking. My bad, but I'll promise I'll actually interact next time. I hope you can tune in again some time and don't think I just ignore you guys or am this inactive. :)

oh, okay
If I'm going to be making millions from my twitch career, every viewer counts. Gotta start with a strong base, you see?
gats told me about it btw
What a champion.

yeah, i hate anime
This is the only sensible opinion to have tbh. I'm keeping up with Dragonball because it's Dragonball and so what, and even though I'm enjoying it, every single episode I have this "fuck anime sucks" moment like 3 times at least.
Dragonball is one of those things where it's an anime but black people and little kids like it so it's almost normal cartoon trash, but then the nips do weird shit.
True that. You're watching for cool fights and shit, and then there's like a 5 minute anime trope intermezzo just to fuck with you.

Also, black people like Dragonball?

No thanks, Counterstrike I could never get into.
Inaccurate guns are literally the worst thing you can do to FPS games.

Gaming / Re: Mouse & Keyboard support on consoles
« on: August 27, 2017, 08:23:41 AM »
I'm inclined to say single player only. One of the key aspects of consoles is that they provide a relatively equal playing field. Adding mouse and keyboard to that mix completely throw off that balance.
