Let's not go there anymore.

I just downloaded the entire show to avoid dealing with the adds and streaming, Snake. Currently 5 episodes in.

The only people I feel sympathy for are the developers who've had their p cool video game turned into a dumb meme.
Sympathy? I had never heard of this game before this meme and I'm sure the same goes for thousands of others. This is excellent advertising for them.

um dude, cuphead has been a showcase game for MS for a few years now. like it's actually been on the big screen at E3 press conferences and everything.
And I've still never heard of it or given it more than a brief glance and forget. I think it's a given that the game suddenly drew in a lot more attention following this.

Dude has some pretty bad skills, but I kinda feel for him. He doesn't deserve this kind of backlash.

What I believe is that speech and information are inherent to each other and that photos and videos, being information, are also an extention of speech. To regulate information is to regulate speech. In the case of CP, it may be an expression of speech of those committing the crime and is also a record of that crime, but it is still protected, so owning and viewing it would not be illegal. Basically, what I believe is that any form of information made by man can not be regulated under the law. That is my interpretation of freedom of speech. In other words, anyone can put any information out into the world without regulation.
I understand that it is your view. It's just not the view of the original Constitution (to my knowledge) or our current interpretation thereof, so even if we "really abided by" the Constitution, I still don't think it would be legal.

Somewhat unrelated, but what do you think about copyright? NDAs? Threats? Libel, slander and defamation? Direct danger to people? Calling for real violence? False advertising? Employment by government?

1537
Why does it always come back to guns?

Seriously.
It's one of the few cases where I'd agree with the posts in this thread. Guns and actual speech/press can't be restricted under the letter of the law.

1538
I believe that if the government truly abided by the constitution, possesion and distribution of CP would be legal as no form of information could be illegal since any kind of information is a form of speech and is protected by freedom of speech. The concept of information being illegal is a trivial one in the first place.
To my knowledge, the "all information can be speech" approach follows the interpretation of courts and is not the letter of the law. If we're going to "really abide by" the constitution, we can't selectively pick and choose what court cases we want to follow or not. I'll happily be proven wrong though.
I believe in this hypothetical scenario, the U.S. would be different entirely and the court cases we know of today wouldn't exist. My original post was assuming the U.S. abided by the constitution since its creation. I'm not very well versed with court cases in general though, so I wouldn't be able to give any examples.
Fair enough, but I think you're wrong here. The original text and sentiment of the First Amendment of the Constitution covered speech and press. There was, to my knowledge, no general freedom of information. I don't see any convincing reason to assume that CP would be any more legal under the "pure" constitution than under the interpretation of it we follow now.

civil forfeiture and sex offender registries could be argued to violate the fourth amendment
Could be argued, but probably unsuccessfully so. The fourth only bars "unreasonable" seizures and the fifth allows for the deprivation of property when "due process" is followed. Same goes for the registry. Even when following the letter of the law, I don't see how this could be argued successfully.

1541
Obamacare would be in the toilet.
Things like CP would be legal. No civil asset forfeiture(eggsalad). No Obamacare(Genghis Khan). No sex offender registry(eggsalad)
There wouldn't be a publicly available sex offender registry.
There wouldn't be civil forfeiture.
You guys are going to have explain these.

Just caught  a bit of a Destiny 2 stream. Kind of baffled by how it seems to again be:

> move to door
> send ghost to hack door
> protect door
> repeat
> bullet sponge boss

Phew lads. Add onto that the microtransactions, meme-tier conversations, grinding and the $100 that you'll probably have to pay for partially cut content, and I think I'm gonna sit this one out.

Still trying to figure out why this wasn't actually in the game
Because Halo 4's soundtrack was generic, soulless garbage
It had like 2-3 pretty good songs though.

What Snake said. Your views on circumcision are just incorrect and seemingly contradict some of your core beliefs.
"my little pony is not the worst cartoon in all of western animation"

sorry to be predictable but i honestly can't think of anything more egregious than that
Yeah, pretty predictable. I know you were just exaggerating, but it's definitely not such a horrible cartoon if you don't count the fanbase and memery.
having seen it several times, i can say without irony that it's the worst western cartoon i've ever seen a substantial amount of
Wow. This is EASILY your second worst belief.

Just to be clear, I might quit out after a few episodes, so don't make your own filler list just for me. :p

I'm not doing it for you, but for anyone who might be interested in it.

At least watch until episode 17. That's where I got hooked. It starts slow but it really picks up in that arc.

I have no Crunchyroll or Netflix. Anyplace else I can just stream it?

Do you prefer dub or sub?
Oh damn, no clue. I have no issues with sub (I sometimes find it even easier to watch), but for some shows the Japanese voices are just so bad (Dragonball Super, for example). I'll try both and decide then, if you have a link.

Sure.

This is for Naruto. Before scrolling down, make sure you click "Hide Episode Titles" option to avoid spoilers. The original Naruto show is something awesome to me because the first 100 episode contain a total of 3 filler episodes, which is crazy. It's pretty much non-stop plot for the most part, and the animation is super high-quality.

I'm devising my own list for Shippuden because the one I used has some flaws, IMO. Some filler deserves to be watched, so I'll let you know when I get that finished.

Do you have Crunchyroll or Netflix? Netflix should have Naruto dub, which is far better, IMO.

I don't think I've seen a single episode of this show.

It's honestly a fun ride. The original series starts off a bit slow but post-episode 17 or so, it really picks up until 100~.

I stuck with it even after that because it's pretty good still. It's more anime-y than DBZ, but also a lot better, IMO.
Everybody knows Dragonball is the best anime ever made, but I'll let that slide.

Has Verb watched this yet?

Yeah. He secretly likes it. He said it's the best of the "Big 4" animes (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach(?)".
I've seen parts of One Piece and Bleach and thought they were awful. Dragonball is alright, so maybe I'll give this show a go as well. What do I start with?

Naruto. The original show. I can send you the filler lists I used to avoid unnecessary shit if you want.
Sure.

No, but I wish I could be. Save for the whole damage and destruction part, of course, but I love storms. I've always wanted to go to the US and hunt tornadoes. That would be amazing.

Damn, stay safe man. Good luck. I hope damage is kept to a minimum.

That said, I've always thought storms are awesome and fascinating. Irma is showing the highest measured sustained windspeeds since Allen in 1980. Interesting stuff.

Wtf is up with all these hurricanes
While there's evidence that climate change will worsen our storms, I don't think there's statistically any more high caliber hurricanes than in previous decades.
