They do get treated with respect. It's only when a new, unknown member joins out of the blue, magically knows all the ins and outs of this community and holds opinions that are often laughably stupid and controversial, that it's pretty clear that it's just a trolling alt undeserving of the same respect a genuine new member would get.

When devs have disc-locked content, it's usually nothing but the foundation of a later addition, such as the basic outlines of a new area to make the transition easier. According to these videos, these Destiny areas are basically finished. They're fully designed and textured, and even have enemies in some of them. Not to get out the torch and pitchforks to prematurely slander Bungie, but it sure seems like this was finished content that was cut on purpose. 14948

Serious / Re: Two weeks after the Swedish election, and a government is yet to be formed« on: September 28, 2014, 01:56:31 PM »589 days without a government back in 2010-2011.I believe they went like a year or two without a government. Where is Flee when you need him?Can they beat Belgium's record, this is the question. What has happened in Belgium? Long story short, Belgium is made up out of a French and Dutch community, each making up about 50% of the population. There's also 1% Germans, but no one cares. This comes with obvious problems that go a lot further than the mere use of language. The French part (Wallonia) used to be very prosperous because of the heavy industry there. As you all know, our contemporary economies are placing more importance on services, IT and production of finer goods, rather than heavy industry. Because of that, Flandres became rich due to its ports and whatnot. Skip forward a hundred years or so, and the French and Dutch aren't getting a long very well anymore because of a multitude of reasons. Result, country becomes more of a federation where the states (Wallonia and Flandres) get more powers while the federal government still does a ton of shit. Because Flandres was getting richer and Wallonia poorer, the Flemish made up the majority of the GDP and whatnot. To put it bluntly, after a while the French speakers were leeching of the Dutch speakers. Throw in the capital Brussels that was officially both French and Dutch but with a very complicated electoral system, and you basically have a crapshoot. On top of that, election results were unique because not a single party got a lot of votes: all of the main ones had less than 20%. Result: all the communal tensions that had been building up over the last two decades came to a climax and everyone wanted different things while refusing to compromise, which led to 2 years without an active government. Fear not though, because the country didn't devolve into a state of chaos and anarchy. What basically happens in situations like this is that the previous government becomes a government of running affairs, which basically means they just keep doing their job while not being able to make big changes unless absolutely necessary. Had it not been all over the media, not a single person would've noticed that we technically had no active government. 14952

Not sure what you were expecting, but engineering is about a lot more than just putting stuff together. Yes, you will end up building things in the later years, but it probably won't be what you're expecting. The things you learn now are things you will need in the later years of your education. If you're already not feeling it, it's probably not going to get much better.

News / Re: Wolfenstein The New Order - Brute Review« on: September 28, 2014, 12:39:02 PM »
Not gonna comment on the review, but a few general remarks in case you care for constructive criticism:
-don't record yourself if you can't memorize your lines or read them in a non-obvious way. You look to the right every few moments to read your text, which doesn't look very professional. Either learn what you're going to say beforehand or work with a few pointers while improvising most of it, or only show gameplay with you talking over it. -work with better source material. I don't know why, but you regularly use screenshots, wallpapers or themes that are low res and look incredibly blurry (the background of your intro, MW3 footage, the south park scene, for example). It's not that hard to find high res pictures or footage of this kind of stuff by just using google. -structurise your videos logically. You seem to frequently switch between story, gameplay, history and all other aspects without there being a real pattern. Take a look at what Gametrailers does, for example. Start with an introduction about the game, the platforms, creator and history. Then talk about the story, followed by gameplay, multiplayer and extras. Clear and concise segments. Near the end, sum it all up again while giving a brief overview of the pros and cons before reaching your final conclusion (for example: "The new Wolfenstein game lives up to the expectations by bringing amazing game- and gunplay to the table. Although the story isn't always all that and the lack of a multiplayer might disappoint some, this game is sure to please fans of the FPS genre") -always review your own work. There's a glaring spelling error ("fianlly") in the very first scene of the video. It's an easy fix that you should definitely be able to spot if you'd just review your own video before publishing it. That being said, you do hold yourself well in front of the camera and it's enjoyable to hear you talk. Keep up the good work. 14956

The Flood / Re: I have, some difficult news to tell« on: September 28, 2014, 09:46:34 AM »Agreed, I suggested that as well on the previous page. He should contact a lawyer and find out where he stands. Just pointing out that it really isn't as simple as walking up to the judge saying "I have a diagnosis" and then get paid. If he's working for a company that knows its legal shit, they're probably no stranger to dealing with this kind of stuff. All I'm saying is that he or his family should try.Well like I said, all he would need to do is present his diagnosis. If his lungs really are clogged up with the stuff, there's your case right there. Worker safety should always be a top priority for companies. That really isn't necessarily true. It's a lot more complicated than that. 14959

A lot of places sell them, but your typical Belgian will rarely have them. But anyways, back on topic, waffles aren't a breakfast food here. They're basically treated as cookies or sweet snacks over here. 14962
The Flood / Re: I have, some difficult news to tell« on: September 28, 2014, 06:41:01 AM »He said it happened 2 years ago. Still, his current bad health could prove it.This is when the statute of limitations comes into play though. You only have a certain amount of time before your right to start proceedings to obtain damages becomes void. Fortunately, for these kind of cases most developed countries don't actually start the "counter" until you become (seriously) ill because of what happened. But I am no expert in Canadian law and the government there has been very reluctant to deal with problems caused by asbestos, so I'm not sure about Sandtrap's position. 14963

Although Canada has until recently been that one country that refused to consider asbestos a serious health hazard, is there no legal action you can take here? I'm not very familiar wih Canadian damage laws and claims, but if your employer had you work in an environment where he or she knew asbestos was present without informing you of that and provided you with a faulty safety mask, it seems strange to me there'd nothing you can do about it.
I realize you may not want to do any of this, neither would I, but since you're family is in such a bad financial situation, it could help them out tremendously. 14965

Ouch. Had a conversation about this with my girlfriend recently. Although necessary, I have seen so many images ruined by a poorly placed trademark or copyright somewhere. You can have this beautiful title screen or logo that took someone hours of meticulous designing, only to have it all ruined by a very out of place "TM" in the top right. Shame, really.

Not sure what it's like on BF3, but the M16 was overpowered as shit back in the days of CoD 4. For whatever reason, it got a damage increase if used with the red dot sight. Combine that with the stopping power perk and a single burst of the weapon would be an instakill anywhere on the body. It was better than most snipers at long range and if used with steady aim too, you had the best shotgun in the game right there.
