I'm currently bored in class (criminal sanctioning law, for those wondering) and figured I'd make a thread for some random, general conversations with my fellow floodians.

So, what are you guys up? Life not treating you too badly, I hope? Let's talk about stuff.

Monsieur DeeJ has already debunked this.
Deej is Bungie's community manager. Literally his only job is to make Destiny seem better than it is so that people get the game and buy the constant bullshit Bungie's feeding them. Of all the people you should trust on this, Deej isn't one.

What? Read the quote in the bungie.net OP.
It was way tl;dr. I don't really care about Destiny and what I said in my previous post was what I was hoping the AMA would turn out to be. Clearly, I was wrong.

« on: September 29, 2014, 05:30:01 PM »
Way too overdone. The idea of humanity being in it's last stand, with it's only ally hanging silently over their last city........sounds much better. Unfortunately the game doesn't give you anything more than that :/
You think the original plot was overdone but see no issues with the tale of a brave warrior, one of the few remaining members of his race on the edge of certain doom, almost singlehandedly fighting off an incredibly powerful alien enemy hellbent on destroying everything?

U srs?

I did this with sciences and must say it was good, new place no friends no way to fit in. Not that open and kind of not interested in the subjects. No interest no drive, failed and then just switched to a different school and must say feel alot better ever since.
I stuck with it and met my girlfriend, who managed to motivated me. Now I've got a law degree and am well on my way of getting two separate and specialized Master's degrees with honors, all in a field I really couldn't care less about.

Glad it worked out for you. What's your new field?

Not really depression, but I almost threw away my first two years of law school because I didn't care and part of me wanted to fail.

Wikipedia, source of all absolute truth, has the following to say about the matter:

Dark Souls (ダークソウル Dāku Souru?) is an action role-playing video game set in an open world environment.

Checkmate, atheists.

Easily one of the best games in the last couple of years.

It doesn't, I'm afraid. It has more to do with solving crimes than the actual prosecution.

You are just teasing me, i really want to see what happens. Personally canadian, but if EU does something hopefully the next government if not Harper, will also slightly follow suit.
Sorry man, I was forced to sign several different non-disclosure agreements and agree to confidentiality clauses before I was even told what the project is going to be about. Not that I suspect being spied on, but I'd rather not stake my academic future on something like this.

Besides, I'm pretty sure there's going to be general information released soon, if it hasn't already. I might make a thread about it sometime when/if that feels appropriate.

That's the EU I like to see. Still greatly supporting the Union here.

But all y'all best be looking out for an upcoming Commission proposal I worked on the Deliverable of. Still classified for now, but it's going to be exciting for European criminal law.
Unless it involves rehabilitation, I don't want to hear of it.

If you ever want to lose faith in humanity, go read some patriotic right wing conservative pro-gun facebook pages. The sheer amount of hatred, ignorance and utter stupidity among those people is staggering.
>implying all conservative gun owners are like that
I'm not even going to bother asking why or how you came to the conclusion that by mentioning some Facebook groups I somehow meant that extended to every single conservative gun owner.

That aside, to illustrate my point and for everyone's enjoyment, I will spend the next couple of minutes quoting some posts made by your average member of the American Patriots Facebook group. Brace yourselves.

In response to an article on the Mexican border:
Quote
The AZZ in office doesn't want us protected this is the way all his terrorist Muslim buddies can come into this country. We have enough of these demanding Idiots in Michigan, and MN demanding everything.

Personally I believe that they should be executed on sight.... open season on illegals.
Quote
30 illegals per day? In due time there will be another 9-11, only on a more deadlier scale. I call upon every American to stock pile arms and ammo and be ready to fight these douchebags!
Quote
THIS IS WHERE THE VERY PEOPLE THAT WILL BE ROUNDING US UP FOR F.E.M.A CAMPS, ARE POURING INTO THIS COUNTRY FROM. And thats just the start !!!
Quote
With no support from the Feds, and a military losing its grip, I won't be surprised to see a militia formed by regular folk. It's about time people start taking initiative and standing up for (their) country and constitution. Failing that, your wives, and daughters are fodder for pervs and head choppers.
Quote
Deport all muslims.

In response to an article about bringing guns to work and muslims at your work:

Quote
keep a squirt gun filled with pig blood, keep naked pics of women (any Muslim man sees a naked woman not his wife must kill himself.no 72 virgins
Quote
Shoot first then as questions later! Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6
Quote
They will have to have jihad work free companies in America now witch is really. A out rage because real American don't want them in the country in first place !!
Quote
I know how...fire every mooslime in the place, lock them out and never let them back in.
Quote
Find out who the muslims are, watch them closely and report anything strange. Oh, by the way keep a gun close by.
Quote
kill all Muslims and stop immigration of these animals.

And this was all taken from just the top comments on the first two news reports that didn't have to do with UFO sightings or ghosts. I cannot even comprehend how people can be this stupid and hateful.

The Flood / Re: Any nickname from your significant other?
« on: September 29, 2014, 05:00:48 AM »
Liefje en schatje, pretty much.
What does that mean?
According to Google translate it means "Honey and honey"
Can we let Flee say cause he prolly know more about what it means than google translate. Google translate is shitty and Flee is pretty smart.
They're pretty general pet names really. "Lief" is Dutch for sweet, so I suppose "liefje" would just be sweetie. "Schat", on the other hand, means "treasure". When you call someone your schatje, you're basically calling them your treasure. To me, it implies a certain degree of uniqueness and a promise to greatly cherish someone as you consider them your greatest treasure and most valuable thing about your life. It's a pretty sweet pet name that I quite like. :)
That's so sweet. You two are just amazing.
Thanks, hearing that means quite a bit to me. And just a brief reminder, if you'd ever want to talk about anything, feel free to hit me up on Skype. Absolutely no pressure though, just saying that I'm there if you'd ever need me.
Thank you, and the same to you. If you ever want to talk, you feel free to message me.
Will do, thanks man.
Holy shit. That is literally the first thing I typed out before I amended it and added the part where you could message me back. Lol.
Well, you know what they say. Great minds think alike. ;)

Should be easy to do if it comes to that. A judge judging the custody battle of one of their friends is a clear conflict of interest.
Definitely this. If it ever comes to a legal dispute about custody, be sure to stress her profession and contacts while speaking to your lawyer. Conflict of interest tends to be taken pretty seriously.

Lol. I suppose you could generally say that "honey" and "honey" are somewhat acceptable answers, but as you can see, a lot of the more subtle things get lost in translation. ;)

I am committed to my children, and in being the best father I can be. Mine wasn't there most of the time, and when he was he was a drunken asshole.

So, I am determined to NOT be like that.
But what Mrs. Charlie? How does she feel about it?

That sucks man. You shouldn't adopt another kid. I won't tell you to divorce or stay, that's up to you. But you shouldn't force another kid to have to deal with this.
I have to agree with Challenger here. The baby will find another home, one potentially a lot more stable than what yours is probably going to be for the next couple of years. You should figure out where you're at with Mrs. Charlie first, then think of what you're going to do with kids.
