What?
Her supposedly secure photos were leaked. You'd feel like shit if your nudes were leaked in your school.
Feel like shit? Yes. Demand that the law be changed so that anyone involved in leaking, spreading or viewing the pictures be considered sex offenders responsible for the perpetuation of sexual violence? No.

I propose we quarantaine the metas until we can reach a consensus on how to deal with this spread.

Lock them in Serious. They can debate their way to death.
But I like Serious. I say we lock them in their own thread. Make one called "should sociopaths be held responsible for their crimes or be reintegrated in society?" and they'll debate themselves to the death.

The hackers and leakers committed a crime, those who simply viewed the pictures did not. This is about invasion of privacy, not sexual crimes.

About time. Not saying Hamas is without blame at all, but Israel should not be above all criticism.

Or you go to a prestigious uni
That one. Although I can't complain about my high school education either. I'm not entirely sure about what it's like in the US, though.

As long as it's taught equally and neutrally along other religions, and is clearly taught seperately from sciences and not at all as an absolute fact, I completely agree.

But actually teaching it as truth? Absolutely not.

Ok so honest suggestions of things that I would want to play. Gmod, GTAIV and Minecraft? maybe if anyone was willing to go to all the trouble to make a server for it. These all seem like fun games to play with a large group of people.
There is already a building server for Minecraft.
Link to thread.

It's not like I am hiding anything. You won't find anything bad of or on me. Nothing like that is on the internet
Neither was an acquaintance of mine. But all it took was him getting in a petty argument with someone on the internet. Someone who then gathered a bunch of friends and went on to track him down, threaten his mother with rape, contacted his place of work with false complaints trying to get him fired, filed complaints at his college about him misbehaving, had dozens of things delivered at his address, anonymously called and texted him and his family constantly...

You may not be worried about that kind of stuff, but after witnessing all that, I've become pretty reluctant sharing personal information online.

Gaming / Re: I'll probably never play the Vault of Glass
« on: October 07, 2014, 10:46:59 AM »
I will probably never do the vault of glass myself.

Although I have to admit that this is entirely due to the fact that I can't bring myself to wasting hours grinding a subpar game in the hopes of getting random drops that will allow me to get to the necessary level. Already sold my copy of Destiny for this exact reason.

I'm no stranger to where you're coming from though. Even though I live in the center of Western Europe, I sometimes struggle to find players myself.

Also for whoever she is, prepare for a shitstorm of forum drama. People complaining of the most inane things and fights, we got right wing fascist to left wing communist and some anarchic people. Small group where everyone hates each other but we somehow like each other.

I look forward to it...

Also Cog, did you ever have a threesome with Meta and her boyfriend.

No, not happening.
Your message goes outside of the quote brackets. :)

« on: October 07, 2014, 10:39:10 AM »
Why would you want to let any time pass? Get out there and look for a job. You'll be able to get some work experience while simulatenously looking for something better. No one is stopping you from looking for another job while working.

What day would it be?
Depends on what would fit for the majority of people.
OK I would be able to do it either tomorrow night or Thursday.
We should refer to Max' thread on possibilities of game nights for this stuff. He put quite a bit of work into it and it's very well done.

Because some people just don't know when to quit. I've seen it happen firsthand. People getting butthurt and mad at others to the point that they will go out of their way find out as much about them as they can, before harassing them not just on a website, but also on facebook or even in real life. Find out who someone is, and you can get access to their address, phone number, facebook account, friends and family, place of work/education...

The vast majority of people are sensible enough to keep the internet and real life separate. But I've met my fair share of deluded and frantic assholes who would go as far as sending death and rape threats to family members, filing complaints at the person's work and harassing them in real life all over something that happened on the internet.

If it's private, keep it private or message a mod. Don't make a public thread and then have your buddies running around saying "SSSSHHHHHHHHHHH ITS PRIVATE".
Challenger has a point. This is the kind of shit that destroys communities like ours. Not just forum drama, but secrecy and cliques forming.

If you want things private, do it by PM. Don't start talking about it in public and then walk away saying "this is totes bad shit happening that caused a massive amount of forum drama, but none of you can know. I mean, none of you except the people I like because I'll let them know by PM."

This is stupid. Ridiculous forum drama is one thing, but then making a fuss about keeping it secret and private afterwards does nothing but divide the community. And that is something a forum as small as ours can definitely do without.

Serious / Re: Police officer kills Walmart shopper for holding a BB gun
« on: October 07, 2014, 09:48:48 AM »
This reminds me of why it's hard to have a serious discussion with you. There is no sense in trying to debate something when our fundamentals differ to this extent. I can give you the best, most official and neutral statistical data there is, and you will ignore it because you'll call the institution reponsible for gathering it corrupt and biased. I can school you in any kind of law, and you will dismiss it because you'll simply call the government illegitimate and tyrannical. I can show you semi-universally accepted legal principles on human rights, cultivated over the course of decades and brought forth by thousands of the brightest minds in the world, and you will not even hear it because you have your own unfounded views on the matter, regardless of how many scholars dismiss it.

It's like having a conversation about science with someone denying that the moonlanding ever happened. No matter how much you try and have a serious discussion with them, when they eventually always resort back to "the government is corrupt, the moonlanding was fake because you can tell by the flag in the pictures", it gets very tiresome.

but there is a lot of behind the scenes shit
Although some things should most definitely remain private, the one thing more detrimental to a small forum like ours than forum drama, is secret forum drama and cliques forming.
